Chapter 124 0124

Chapter 124 0124
Mila’s body crashed hard against the wall after the powerful light struck her, and a painful scream escaped from her mouth as dark smoke suddenly began rising from her skin. Her entire body shook on the floor as if something inside her was burning alive. The paper containing the spell slipped from her trembling fingers and instantly caught fire, turning into black ashes before disappearing completely. Fear filled Mila’s eyes as she stared at Zane standing at the doorway. Mila dragged herself backward on the floor in fear, her breathing becoming uneven as she struggled to understand how Zane was alive.

Mira’s entire body froze the moment she heard her son’s voice. Her heart nearly stopped beating as she turned her weak face toward the door, and the moment her eyes landed on Zane standing there alive, tears rushed heavily down her cheeks. For a second, she thought she was dreaming because she had cried for him day and night, believing she had lost him forever. But there he was, standing alive before her. “Zane…” Mira whispered.

The moment she reached him, she fell on her knees and pulled him tightly into her arms as if afraid he would disappear again if she let go. Her entire body shook as she hugged him tightly, crying harder than before. “My baby… my baby… " You are alive…” she sobbed brokenly while kissing his face repeatedly.

“Mommy,” Zane cried softly as he wrapped his tiny arms around her neck. His small face buried itself into her shoulder while tears rolled down his cheeks, too. “Zane misses mommy…” he whispered innocently, his tiny voice breaking Mira’s heart completely. Mira cried harder, hearing his words, hugging him even tighter against herself.

Meanwhile, Mila remained on the floor staring at them in complete horror. Her body was still burning painfully from the strange power that had struck her. Fear swallowed her whole as she stared at Zane. Her lips trembled as she stared at the little boy. “Impossible…” she whispered fearfully. “You were supposed to be dead…”

At that moment, the door suddenly burst open again, and Asher rushed inside after hearing the scream. The second his eyes landed on Zane alive inside Mira’s arms, he froze completely. Shock covered his entire face as if his mind could not process what he was seeing. “Zane…” he breathed out. His eyes instantly turned red with emotion, and without wasting another second, he quickly rushed toward them. Mira lifted her tearful face toward him while still holding Zane tightly. Asher immediately dropped to his knees beside them and pulled both of them into his arms. Relief flooded his body so strongly that his hands trembled. For days, he had blamed himself, hated himself, and feared he had lost his son forever. But now Zane was back. Alive.

“Dad…” Zane called as he stretched one hand toward Asher’s face. Asher grabbed the tiny hand immediately and kissed it repeatedly, his eyes already filled with tears. “I’m sorry,” Asher whispered painfully while pulling him close. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you…” His voice cracked with guilt and anger toward himself. Mira watched him silently while tears continued flowing down her face.

“Ahhh!” Mila’s scream tore through the room as her body twisted  on the floor. It felt as though invisible flames were burning her from the inside out, her skin crawling with unbearable pain. Dark smoke rose from her arms and neck, and her fingers clawed at the ground as she struggled to escape a force she could not see. Her eyes were wide with terror now, no longer filled with pride or hatred, only fear.

Asher and Mira both froze in shock at the sudden turn of events. Mira still held Zane tightly in her arms, her tears not stopping even as she watched her sister suffer. Asher stepped forward instinctively, his expression shifting from anger to confusion as he saw Mila rolling in agony.

“Mila!” Asher called out sharply, moving closer, but before he could take another step, Zane quickly grabbed his hand with his small fingers.

“Aunt is a bad woman,” Zane said.

Asher paused immediately, his eyes lowering to the child in surprise. Before, Asher turned his gaze back to Mila.

Mila was still on the ground, her body shaking uncontrollably as she tried to crawl away from the invisible pain. Her breathing was broken, her voice cracking as words began to spill out of her mouth without control, as if something inside her was forcing her to confess.

“I… I was the one who put dark magic on Zane…” she choked out, tears streaming down her face. “I wanted him dead…”

Mila coughed, trembling harder. “I was the one who told Nora to kill him… I— I was the one who killed Nora in the prison… and the guard too…” Her voice broke between sobs and pain.

Asher’s expression darkened instantly. His jaw tightened as disbelief and rage mixed in his eyes. He had always known Mila was jealous, always knew she hated Mira, but this… this was beyond anything he had imagined.

Mila tried to lift her hand weakly, pointing shakily at Mira. “I… I was going to kill Mira too…” she gasped.

Her lips trembled as she tried to say more, her eyes locking onto Mira with desperation, as if trying to reveal something. But suddenly, her body jerked violently again. The same invisible force that had struck her earlier surged through her once more, stronger this time. Her words were cut off as she let out one final painful scream.

“AHHHHH!”

Her body fell still.

Mira’s breath caught in her throat as she stared at her sister lying motionless on the floor. Tears slowly continued to fall down her cheeks, but her face had gone completely pale. No matter how much hatred Mila had shown, she was still her sister. The sight was still unbearable.

Asher stepped forward slowly, crouching beside Mila’s body. He hesitated for a moment before reaching out and lightly pressing two fingers against her neck. After a few seconds, he pulled back his hand and stood up.

“She’s dead,” he said coldly.

His expression didn’t show sadness, only disgust and exhaustion.

“Guards!” Asher shouted.

The door burst open immediately as several guards rushed in.

“Take her body,” Asher ordered sharply, pointing at Mila. “Bury her in the forbidden forest. Let the wild beasts take her where she belongs.”

The guards bowed their heads quickly, lifting Mila’s lifeless body and carrying her out of the room without hesitation.

The moment the room fell silent again, Asher turned back toward Mira and Zane. Mira was stil crying.

Asher walked over and stood beside them. Without saying anything more, he pulled both Mira and Zane into his arms.

“It’s over,” he whispered.
