Chapter 147 Chapter 148
Chapter 147 Chapter 148
"Bro I understand that you want to protect her and also get her to get back to you, but you have to also accept the fact that she might never get back to you, and who knows, maybe Mara is never going to come after her or you, so bro, while you are trying your best to look at things from the bright side, also look at it from the dark side," Derek said to Adrian, and at the same time, the door to Adrian's office burst open, and Amelia barged in with an angry facial expression written all over her face.
"Bro, I will call you back," Adrian said to Derek before hanging up the call in order to know what made Amelia barge into the office like that and what was also up with her angry facial expression.

"Hey, what's with the long face, and why did you barge into my office like that?" Adrian asked Amelia after hanging up the call.
"For how long have you known?" Amelia asked Adrian, who furrowed his brows at her.
"For how long have I known what?" Adrian asked her with furrowed brows.
"For how long have you known that Alex was still alive?" Amelia asked Adrian, who scoffed at her.
"Right from the beginning, I was the one who saved him," Adrian said to Amelia.
"And when were you planning to tell me about it?" Amelia asked Adrian.
"Well, I don't know, maybe when you finally decide to stop running while no one is chasing you," Adrian said to Amelia, who shot him an angry glare.
"By the way, was that the reason why you barged into my office while looking like someone who got into a fight?" Adrian asked Amelia with furrowed brows.
"Yes, of course. Do you know for how long I have been feeling guilty for not even getting the chance to say goodbye to Alex before he passed away? He might have been a terrible mate to me, but he was still my mate," Amelia said to Adrian.
"Well, that's true, but as for now, you don't need to feel guilty anymore because he's safe and sound," Adrian said to Amelia.
"Well, I'm already aware of that, but why did you save him in the first place? He wanted everything that you wanted – your throne, me and the rest of them – so why didn't you just let him die so that you could get back everything that he has taken away from you?" Amelia asked Adrian, who smiled at her.
"Well, first, he's my younger brother, and as the older brother, it's my responsibility to protect my younger brothers no matter how stupid he is, and about everything he took from me, I have gotten it all back, in other words, so in other words, it wasn't necessary for him to be dead before I get back everything he took from me," Adrian said to Amelia as he stood up and walked towards her.
"The only thing he took from me that I haven't gotten back is you, and that's not because of him but because of you, who have been proving stubborn," Adrian said to Amelia as he got closer to her.
"And what makes you think that it's not because of Alex that I'm refusing to get back with you? What if he still wants me or I want him back?" Amelia asked Adrian.
"Well, I'm a hundred per cent sure that he doesn't want you back and neither do you want him back" Adrian said to Amelia with confidence.
"Is that what he told you?" Amelia asked Adrian.
"Well, whether it's what he told me or not, does it matter, or is it going to change the fact that you no longer want to get back with me?" Adrian asked Amelia while peering into her eyeballs.
"No, Adrian, it's not going to change anything, and as for your brother, I will go and meet him whenever I'm free to make it clear to him that I don't want to have anything to do with him again or with anyone from the Darlington family," Amelia said to Adrian.
"Ooh," Adrian said to her, as he knew that when she mentioned the Darlington family, she was talking about him and Alex.
"Yes, Adrian, I will be taking my leave now; have a nice day," Amelia said to Adrian before turning and walking out of the office, and with that, Adrian sighed heavily before shaking his head in disbelief.
"Moon goddess, please give me some patience, or I'm going to lose it anytime soon," Adrian muttered to himself before walking back to his chair and sitting down.
Meanwhile, as Amelia was heading back to her office, she was met with Tony, who was coming out of her office.
"Hey Amelia, "How are you doing?" Tony asked Amelia.
"I'm doing good. What about you?" Amelia asked Tony with a casual tone.
"I'm doing good too," Tony said to Amelia in reply.
"Tomorrow is your day off, right?" Tony asked Amelia.
"Yeah, why do you ask?" Amelia asked him.
"Well, I wanted to know if you had any plans for tomorrow," Tony said to Amelia.
"Yes, I have plans for tomorrow; I'm going to my former hospital to see a friend of mine. Is there something you want me to help you do tomorrow?" Amelia asked him.
"Well, not exactly. Since we haven't gotten a chance to finally have a meal together, I thought that since you aren't working tomorrow, that would be a great opportunity for us to finally have a meal together," Tony said to Amelia.
"Well, I'm so sorry, Tony, but what I want to do tomorrow is very important to me, so let's leave the meal for next time, okay?" Amelia asked Tony.
"Yes, sure, safe trip in advance," Tony said to Amelia.
"Thanks so much," Amelia said to Tony before walking away, and with that Tony immediately rushed into his office and closed the door before bringing out his phone from his pocket and placing a call to Leroy, who picked up after some minutes of ringing.
"Hello Tony, how are you doing today?" Leroy's voice sounded through the phone as the call was picked up.
"I'm doing good, boss. What about you?" Tony asked Leroy while keeping his tone low.
"I'm doing good too. How can I help you?" Leroy asked Tony with an inquisitive tone.
"Well, I think the opportunity for us to strike has finally presented itself," Tony said to Leroy through the phone.
"Wait, has the opportunity presented itself, or do you think that the opportunity has presented itself? Which one is it?" Leroy asked Tony.
"Boss, it has presented," Tony said to Leroy.
"Perfect, now tell me about it." Leroy said to Tony.
