Chapter 45

(Author's POV).

That night, Xander waited for Juliette in the dark forest. Sam and he had planned that Sam would give up Juliette for him, in exchange, Xander had to let Sam stay in his pack safely and peacefully. It was all Sam did so that he could live happily together with Agatha. If he had helped Juliette escape and they had been in Damian's pack, Damian would have killed them that day.

Xander accepted Sam's offer. After all, there was nothing to lose by letting Sam and Agatha stay in his pack. Moreover, he could get revenge on Damian for what he had done to the woman he loved.

For the first time, he saw Damian's mate's face and he was amazed by Juliette's beauty. Her blue eyes looked so bright and shining even in the darkness of the night. Her blonde hair fell beautifully to her waist while her skin was as white as porcelain.

Xander thought he would never be attracted to another woman again after he lost his mate, but it seems he was wrong. After he saw Juliette, his heart had been stolen by her without him even realizing it.

"Why?" asked Juliette. Her voice trembled. "Why should I?"

Xander watched Juliette who looked terrified. She hadn't even done anything bad to him yet, but her body was already shaking violently.

"Because you are Damian's mate."

"You can't have me!" shouted Juliette. "I just want a quiet life. I just want to make sure my baby wolf is born safely," she said in a sobbing voice.

Xander looked down at Juliette who was crying. Her tears pooled on her beautiful face. He tried to wipe them away, but Juliette brushed them away roughly.

"Please let me go," Juliette said, pleading.

"Blame Damian for dragging you into his problems. And you should have realized earlier that he's not a good person," Xander said.

"You're just the same. By holding me hostage, you're just as bad as Damian," Juliette hissed.

"But I'm not hurting you."

"Then what do you want?!" shouted Juliette.

"Didn't I tell you clearly? I want you to be mine, so I can make Damian feel what it's like to lose the woman he loves."

"I'm still his Mate. We are connected," Juliette informed him. "You can't mark me while I'm still Damian's mate."

"I don't care. I just need to make you love me. Didn't you run away because you hated Damian? Then why don't you stay here with me? With your baby wolf too. I will accommodate you here willingly. But on condition, you give yourself to me."

Juliette had no idea what Xander wanted. She was trying. But his offer didn't do her any favors either. She needed a place to live and she was pregnant. Maybe living in Xander's Pack could allow her to live in peace and not be noticed by Damian. But she also can't trust Xander that much. Especially with the conditions he gave.

"Let's say I accept your offer. What conditions do you place on me?" asked Juliette.

"Being mine. Make sure Damian is tormented when he sees you with me. I'm sure it will be hell for him to see the woman he loves being touched by another Alpha," Xander said.

"I'm sure Damian won't stay silent if he finds out," Juliette said.

Considering how possessive Damian was of Juliette. He must be looking for her all over the place right now. Juliette knew how much Damian loved her and she wouldn't stop until she found him. And if Damian ever finds out that Juliette is with another Alpha, he'll go crazy.

But, is that really a good revenge for her to take? Although Juliette hates Damian, she also still loves him. She wanted to kill him, but she couldn't. That's why she chose to leave Damian and live alone with her baby wolf.

"Then I'll just have to kill him," Xander said with a grin.

Juliette's heart was beating very fast. Her face paled, her hands clenched into tight fists. If Xander killed Damian, then she would die too. She couldn't let that happen while she was still carrying her wolf baby.

For now, maybe Juliette would do as Xander said. It's much safer than her being tortured by him. Because her only priority right now was to make sure her baby stayed safe. And it seemed like Xander didn't know about that cursed fate yet either.

"A-All right. I will do what you want. You want me to stay here and be mine? But I also have conditions that you must do," Juliette said.

"Conditions? What conditions?"

"You will never hurt my baby wolf."

Xander chuckled. "You think I'm a monster like Damian who has no heart? I still have a conscience not to kill babies, Juliette. I am not like your husband who killed your orangutan," she told Juliette.

Juliette squeezed the hem of her dress. She didn't know how much Xander already knew about her family matters. But for now, she had to remain wary of Xander.

"Well, welcome to my pack, Juliette Sanders.”

"How was it? Did you take care of Juliette?" asked Sam who was now talking to Xander in his room. He was curious about how Xander dealt with Juliette and how he wanted to destroy Damian.

"Well, that was easy for me. She agreed to stay here and be mine," Xander said confidently.

"Wh-What?"

Sam was surprised that Juliette so easily complied with Xander's request. Maybe it was because she was pregnant and trying to protect her baby, that she put herself aside.

"Why, can't you believe that Juliette accepted my offer? It's like she hates Damian so much that she wants to see him destroyed too," Xander said.

"Who wouldn't hate it if the man she loved killed her family? I would do the same," Sam said.

"Don't worry. I will avenge her. She's just like me, victimized by Damian. And I thought, making Juliette mine wouldn't be a bad idea."

"Are you seriously interested in her?" asked Sam. he frowned, looking at Xander in disbelief.

"Well, we'll see what the future holds," Xander grinned.

Xander still doesn't know whether it's love or just a simple attraction because of Juliette's beauty, but he gets Juliette and destroys Damian. It was like winning the lottery.
