Chapter 37
(Juliette's POV)
It's been a week that I've been at home without doing anything. Damian was still actively working while I was like a bird in a cage being watched by Kaye for 24 hours. My every move was watched by him and if I did anything strange, he would immediately inform Damian.
I always refused to eat, always rebelled, got angry, and did all the things I did to deny Damian from being around me. Because I hated him more than anything.
But for some reason, every time I was rude and angry with him, Damian was still nice to me even though there were some things he was stern about.
"Huek..."
"Hueek..."
"Huekk...."
I felt so sick when Damian came into my room with a tray of food. And the moment I smelled the food, I immediately felt my stomach churning.
I ran hurriedly to the bathroom and threw up in the sink. I vomited repeatedly but nothing but water came out because I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday afternoon.
For the past two days, I have been feeling unwell and dizzy. I have less and less appetite for food and I find myself daydreaming in my room more often.
"Are you okay?" I felt Damian's hand caress my back as I was still vomiting in the bathroom. He looks so panicked and worried seeing my condition like that.
I shook my head as I brushed off his hand that was touching me. And I threw up for the fourth time. I groaned, feeling so tired and weak. My stomach felt like it was being squeezed and my throat burned.
"You haven't eaten since yesterday. Are you dizzy?" he asked, "I'll tell Gabriel to call the doctor," he said.
"No need." I wash my mouth with water and wipe it with the back of my hand. I look at Damian and I try to stay away from him. "I'm fine. You don't need to call a doctor," I told him.
"Your face is pale, Juliette. I can feel you're not well," he said.
I swallowed my saliva with difficulty. "I told you I didn'tーHuek!" my eyes widened, red and teary as I threw up again for the umpteenth time.
I felt the panic on Damian's face mounting. He kept holding my body and rubbing my back as I vomited. Although I kept trying to push him away from me, he stayed by my side.
"I'll ask Gabriel to call a doctor," he said.
"I told you I wouldn't!" I exclaimed in exasperation.
"Stop arguing with me, Juliette." He gave me an annoyed look. I gave him a sharp look back but he really didn't want to lose to me.
"I hate you, Damian," I hissed.
"I don't care."
"What are you doing?!" I shouted as he suddenly grabbed my body and carried me princes-style. "Put me down, Damian!" I smacked his chest repeatedly to get him to put me down, but he ignored my words.
"Taking you to bed," he says as he walks out of the bathroom.
"I can walk on my own! Put me down!" I shouted. But he treated me like a speaker without sound.
He put me down on the bed and sat beside me. I saw him take a bowl of porridge from the tray she had brought for me.
"Force yourself to eat this to fill your stomach. You must eat even if you feel nauseous," he ordered.
"I don't want to eat."
"Eat while I ask you nicely, Juliette."
I gave him a sharp look and snorted. "If I still don't want to, are you going to tie my hands and feet? Cram the food into my mouth like a pet?"
"With my mouth. Even if you don't mind," he said. I immediately felt goosebumps run down my body as he looked at me with his piercing eyes.
"I'm nauseous, I can't eat that," I said weakly.
"Force yourself to eat a few mouthfuls," he said.
I let out a long breath and was forced to take the bowl of porridge from Damian's hand and try to eat it by the spoonful even though I had to force myself not to get nauseous every time I smelled it.
I could only manage a few mouthfuls before I pushed the bowl to Damian while covering my mouth. If I continued, I would probably spit out all the porridge I had just eaten.
"I can't take it anymore," I told him.
He wiped my lips with his fingers and I hurriedly turned my face away. But he didn't seem disappointed by my refusal.
"The doctor is on his way here," he informed me. He tried to touch me, but I pushed his hand away. "Until when are you going to push me away?"
I held back my tears from falling. I bite my lip hard. I couldn't bear to live my life with Damian. It was too painful when I had to look at the face of the man who had killed my parents. Every day my heart screamed with pain. I felt disgusted and guilty with myself because I hated Damian, but I also loved him.
"What do I have to do for you to forgive me?" he looked at me intently. "Tell me, Juliette. What can I do to make you forgive me?"
"Make my parents come back to life. Can you do it?" I asked with a sad smile.
"Juliette."
"You can't do it. That's why I can never forgive you."
"We are bound. You are my Luna. Are you going to be like this forever?"
"Then you just need to dump me. Or at least let me be free and live my life without you," I pleaded. I swallowed my saliva with difficulty.
"I can't do it. You're too precious for me to let go, Juliette."
I turn my face away as I cry. I didn't want to talk to Damian anymore which would only cause more hurt.
At that moment, the doctor came in along with Gabriel before he walked out leaving us. Damian looked nervous, standing in the middle of the room as the Doctor examined me, as did I. I kept watching him and many times I swallowed nervously.
I kept watching him and many times I swallowed nervously. I hoped the result wouldn't make me feel even more like I was living in hell.
"Congratulations. You are pregnant."
