125. Please Save Him!

125. Please Save Him!
Benji

I felt something tickling my nose. Slowly opening my eyes I couldn’t help feeling a strange weight on my chest that shouldn’t be there. And my ribs and throat felt sore. The first thing I see was a rocky ceiling. That shouldn’t be there right?

My mind was foggy and I couldn’t seem to remember the last thing that I was going through before I had passed out. I mean, I don’t remember just casually falling asleep so. I lift up my head to see a mop of curly brown hair.

Blinking, I stare at the tiny little head that was just lying there on my chest. Attached to it was a small body that was halfway on me and halfway on the bed, that I was lying on supposedly. It was also very airy, like the bed wasn’t solid as it should have been. That wasn’t normal, was it?

Peering down into the face of the child I frown even more. “Micah?” My voice croaked as my throat felt raw and a bit swollen.

I lift my arms to wrap the little boy to me just as I hear, “You’re finally awake.”

I look over to see Derek sitting on the ground next to me. He looked relieved as he scans his eyes all over my face. He also looked dead tired. Still frowning, holding onto the boy, I ask,

“What happened? Where are we?”

“We were being chased by those rogues, do you remember?” He asks, as he comes closer, grazing his fingers into my hair.

Slowly everything starts to come back to me. I look into his eyes as he stares into mine. Holding Micah even closer I whisper,

“I remember. I also remember being cornered.”

“Yeah, some people came out of nowhere and saved us.” He breathes out. “Your asthma attack had gotten so bad that I thought you weren’t…” His voice chokes up a bit. “A kid named Z helped save you. Then you passed out.”

“Z? A kid? Wait, where’s Safina?! Shane?!” I try to get up but he just pushes me back down.

“They’re both fine. All the kids are.”

My movement caused Micah to open his eyes and rub his little face into my chest. Then he looks up at me with sleepy orbs and beams.

“Benwie!” he cries out and throws his little arms around my neck and squeezes tightly.

I was shocked by the sound of his little voice seeming to be so happy to see me awake. I look over to Derek as he grins at us.

“He has been such a little tyrant with everyone about you.”

“Really? Why?” I ask as I sit up all the way, still holding onto the kid.

He just shrugs. “Beats me. The whole walk here he just kept whining for you.”

Here. Where exactly was here? I look at my surroundings to see we were in some kind of cave. There were different tunnels, one of them being covered with a sheet or something. Derek stands up and walks a little to the side, looking through one of those tunnels.

“He’s awake.” He says loudly and immediately I hear shuffling of feet.

The first person I see is Safina, who then looks at me with happiness and rushes to me. She hugs me and Micah, who grunts, tightly to her.

“Thank goodness! I was so worried about you!” She exclaims, her voice a little on edge.

“Sorry that I worried you.” I say gently as she pulls away.

“Glad you’re alright. For a moment there you had us all scared.” Shane smiles gently down at me.

“Again, sorry.” I wince.

Micah releases his hold on my neck and turns to sit right into my lap, leaning his head against my chest.

I look behind them as more people came to check up on me. I stare at the men with wide eyes. They all had platinum hair and they were all staring at me. Then they turn their heads and started to part to let someone through.

A young boy, that I vaguely remember seeing, comes to stand before me. He looked no older than that kid Jonah and he wore casual clothes, unlike all these other men here. While his hair was also that platinum white, his seems to be just a bit brighter than the others. I didn’t know who he was but he seems to be someone important.

He’s our prince.

Radolf!

Heh, hey pup. His voice sounded groggy and tired.

I thought I lost you there.

Me too.

Did you just say prince?

Yes. There’s no mistaking it. He’s definitely our prince. And he’s sad. He wants something from us.

I look to the boy again and I couldn’t help but think Radolf was right. He was definitely someone who was very important. Not just to us, but to all werewolves.

He gives me a sad tender smile. “I’m so glad you’ve finally came too. I also see that your wolf has been reunited with you. Which is even more good news.”

I couldn’t help but feel a strange pull from him. But it wasn’t the kind of pull that a royal bloodline gives when met with his people. This pull was altogether something different. It was like he was desperate for something. Something that only I can provide.

His eyes turn dewy from the wet tears that were beginning to form.

“I know this may seem short of our just meeting each other. But I need your help.”

I blink at that. He needs my help? The prince was asking me?

Suddenly he falls to his knees and lowly bows his head to the ground, creating surprised gasps and even some of the men to call out in shock.

“Young master!”

“Your highness!”

“Please!” The boy yells, causing everyone to stop.

The shakiness could be heard from his voice. “I beg of you, please. Please, save him!” He looks back up to me with tears now streaming down his face as he brokenly begs,

“Please save my brother.”
