CHAPTER HUNDRED FIVE

Vincent pov

The moment one of the guards, who was instructed to keep me locked here at all costs, approaches my cell, I know that something must have happened. Something serious enough to let me go before the heat dies down and Enya is safe near me.

He quickly opens the cell door, puts on a pair of gloves, and unlocks the cuffs around my ankles and wrists. "Alpha, I believe you should go upstairs. Don't worry; Beta Aros told me that Luna's heat is over. There is little to no chance of another wave; it's safe to leave the cells." Between stutters, the guard tells me enough to reassure me that I'm not putting Enya in unnecessary danger by leaving this place.

I look at the guard while holding my wrist and let out a sigh. Relief spreads through me- I can finally leave. However, the joy is short-lived as I think of his words. "Why? Did something happen that Aros couldn't handle without me?" I raise an eyebrow at the guard. Usually, Aros is perfectly capable of handling problems. No one would come here to get me if it was paperwork.

The guard clears his throat. "Alpha, trust me, they need you upstairs. The kitchen, to be exact." We leave the cell side by side.

"Is this about my mate?" I ask him. I'm about to take off like a madman if anything happens to Enya. Lord have mercy on whoever decided to go too far with my woman.

"I-I'd say Luna is involved in this, Alpha." The guard sputters and slows down. I don't know if he thinks I'll attack him or try to blame him, but his words were enough to throw me off. I run up the stairs, break through the door, and storm towards the kitchen. Anyone who gets in my way immediately moves aside as soon as I let out a warning growl. My wolf is losing his sanity- thrashing around my mind, and if I don't get there fast enough, I'm afraid Damian will break free. Enya is his Queen, and God has to help anyone who dares as much as touch a hair on his Queen's head.

The first thing I notice is Aros. His back is facing me, but I can tell he has his arms crossed in front of his chest. My eyes take in the room, and I notice Allison. A growl leaves my lips. "What the fuck did she do?" The question is directed at Aros, but my gaze doesn't leave Allison's pale, frightened face.

"I- I? Me? No, nothing! I haven't done a thing; it's all your backstabbing Beta! I told him that he shouldn't have treated your mate with such disrespect and make her cry, but he didn't listen to me!" Allison tries to defend her position, but I see right through that bitch. I'm not an idiot, nor was I born yesterday- she's always up to something that'll humiliate or hurt Enya. From day one, she has hated my mate. I'll talk to Aros later, but right now, Allison's my main concern.

I step closer to Allison and smile to make her think I believe her feeble attempt at lying. I stand right next to her and throw an arm around her shoulders. The next moment, she tries to move closer, probably thinking I'm on her side, but I wrap my arm around her neck and pull her in front of me. A smile appears on Aros' lips as he finally realises what I'm doing. No one is going to side with this two-faced snake. I lean in a little closer and whisper the same question again. "What the fuck did you do? Keep in mind that I will snap your neck if you try to lie again. I'm an Alpha, and you are nothing more than the daughter of an Omega and a greedy woman. Come on, Allison, try again." A smirk spreads across my lips as the words roll off my tongue. I've never said anything more tempting than those words. As much as I long for my mate, I want to get rid of this bitch forever.

Allison struggles to swallow the lump in her throat as I apply a little more pressure to her neck. The more time she wastes, the closer I am to killing her. "You can't. My father will declare war on you. Think of your pack members, Vince. Many will fall, and even more will return injured or near death. Is that what you wish for your pack?" There it is. Allison always prefers to change the subject rather than tell the truth. That's enough for me to know that she is indeed to blame.

"So, no answer? Off with the head, it is then," I chuckle.

Allison's hands immediately reach up and clutch my arm. "No, no, don't, please. Vince, you can't kill me; we're family. I'll tell you the truth, but don't kill me; I'm begging you!" She sobs. I love hearing the pain and fear in her voice- for once she has found her place. On the food chain, Allison is between nothing and a garbage can.

"You have one minute," I whisper. Whatever she thinks might happen next- Allison's had her warning, and I'm not playing games anymore.

I bet the look on her face is one in a million as Aros seems to be enjoying it. "It was a joke, I swear. A witch told me how to get others to say what I want them to say, and I tried it on Aros while he was talking to your mate. See, a harmless joke." Allison explains herself, but her words do nothing but piss me off even more. A fucking joke. Are my mate and my best friend a damn joke to her too? Who the fuck does she think she is- coming here and creating drama just because she thought it would be fun?

"Harmless enough to make her cry, huh? For that fact alone, I should fucking kill you!" I'm seething with rage, and honestly, not even a tiny part of me wants to calm down or deal with the situation the way adults would. No, I want to kill and destroy until there's nothing left. Every tear my mate shreds because of her actions will cost far more than Allison could ever give.

She laughs nervously, but she laughs anyway. I don't think I can take much more of this woman's disrespect. "But nothing happened to her, right? She'll be fine in a few minutes, an hour tops. There's no damage."

Before I can utter a word, Aros speaks up. "Oh, but there is! Enya is my best friend, and you ruined our current relationship. How is the pack supposed to work if Luna doesn't talk to the Beta, huh? Have you thought about that? Your harmless joke upset our Luna, made her cry, and at the end of the day, it'll affect the whole pack. Have you ever thought that far?" He sounds not only angry but hurt. I know how much the friendship with Enya means to my best friend, and I'd rather die than let it go down the drain because of a vile woman who can't hold her mouth shut.

"Vince," Allison whispers. "Please think about your pack. This isn't about me, you, your mate, or Beta. If you harm a hair on my head, my father will attack." Little does she know that pleading and begging won't help her. Not anymore; I've made up my mind.

"Get your phone!" I growl out the command.

"What? Why?"

"I said, get your damn phone!" I repeat myself, but this time I'm more demanding and aggressive. One more question, and I'll fucking lose it.

Allison quickly reaches into her pocket and pulls out the phone. "Okay, okay, here it is." She shows me the device like she's doing me a favour, not trying to save her skin.

"Call your father," I groan.

"Wh-why?" She strutters.

I roll my eyes and tighten the hold around her neck to prove that I'm not trying to scare her. She's made the final move against me, and for that, Allison will suffer the consequences. "Do as you're told. One more question, and I won't bother asking anymore, Allison. You're on a fine line- one slip, and you're dead."

With shaking hands, Allison dials her father's number and puts the phone on speaker. At first, I think the coward won't take the call because it takes too much time, but just before I give up, he picks up the phone. "Allison, I told you I'm going to be in a very important meeting, and you can't get the PIN codes for my cards. Forget it!" He sounds annoyed, and I can't help but wonder how happy he'll be after I break the news to him.

"D-daddy, Vincent ordered me to call you, I didn't want to, but he's forcing me. Please come and pick me up; I'm so scared. They will hurt me!" Allison puts on a great show; I'll give her credit for that. But even an idiot would understand that she's faking it. The poor woman is too stupid to understand that she's not safe and isn't blowing the situation out of proportion. I am, indeed, planning to hurt her. Really bad.

"Nonsense! Allison, hand the phone to Vincent this instant!" The mixture of anger and fear in his voice makes me smile. That's what you get for taking a position that's not meant for you and not getting along with your spoiled child.

"I'm right here, right next to your precious little daughter," I chuckle. "You see, we have a situation over here, and your mutt decided to harm my Luna. As we all know, I can't help but take her actions as a personal attack. As well as I could view it as an attack on my pack since she's trying to destroy the peaceful atmosphere for selfish reasons. I told her to call you for a reason. Your mutt promised me that you would declare war against my pack. Is that so?" I might twist her words a little, but ultimately I'm telling the truth. Allison told me that her father would declare war on me if I harmed her, and that's precisely what I plan to do.

The damn Omega clears his throat and speaks up. "Vincent, I've never spoken of war. Especially not in front of my daughter. Besides, we both know that such a thing wouldn't happen. As much as I love and respect my pack- to go against yours would be suicide, and I understand that. Should I mention that your Luna is Red? She's on your side, so we have no chance of winning anything against you. I can repeat myself if necessary- I won't dare declare war against your pack under any circumstances. For what my daughter has done, I believe you'll have an appropriate punishment for her. I won't try to stop you. I'd do the same." For the first time, this man says something that makes sense.

"Is that so?" I ask, making sure we're on the same page. If he agrees again, what happens to his daughter will be as much his fault as mine.

After a brief pause, he sighs. "Yes. Allison went too far this time. I'd deal with anyone who would hurt my Luna, even if it was my child." And that's all I needed. Alright, I don't need his approval for everything I might do, but this makes everything I'm about to do a little more fun.

I look at Aros and wink at him- his face immediately pales. I'm sure my best friend knows what I'm going to do. With a wide smile on my lips, I lean a little closer to the phone. "Splendid, so with your permission," Allison's father is about to say something, but I beat him to it and whisper to his daughter. "Say bye-bye, daddy." Her body tenses for a moment as I grab the sides of her head and twist it to the side with all my might. The snapping sound is loud enough to silence her father for good, and once her lifeless body hits the floor, screams of despair and crying are the only sounds I hear left on the other side of the phone line. I don't bother ending the call or offering him Allison's remains. It's done- one less problem on my shoulders.
