Dominic's pov.

I froze in fear as well heard the news, what could Kristen have done to provoke the elders?

“She was supposed to be in her room what was she doing going about?” I muttered as my brows furrowed in curiosity.

“What do you think Kristen did?” Gath asked as he followed closely behind me. “She just keeps getting in trouble”. He hissed.

“She slapped Elder Otto”. Jake bolted out, immediately we came to a halt as our jaws dropped open.

“What did you say?” Gath asked as he locked eyes with Jake.

“You hear me” Jake replied as he turned to go.

Gath and I exchanged confused glances at each other before following him, Jake led us to the garden where Kristen sat in the middle of two sentinels who kept their eyes fixed on her.

“What is going on here?” I asked as I turned to Elder Otto. “Why is she here?”

“Your Luna had the guts to slap me”. He snapped as he turned back to Kristen. “I hope you do rot in jail”. He hissed, glaring at her.

I turned to Kristen, her eyes remained fixed on me as her face contorted with a mixture of seriousness and disdain. She wasn't scared or showing signs of remorse.

“Kristen” I called. “What happened?” I asked as I walked closer to her. “Did you slap him?”

“What do you think?” she scoffed as she got up. “He started it”.

“What?” I scoffed as my face flickered to disbelief. “What exactly has he done for you to have done that?”

“He is standing right in front of you” she eyed as she turned to go, but I held her back.

“What did he do?” I demanded, my face contorted with seriousness as my claws pierced her skin. “Do not forget where you are”. I warned, my voice laced with venom.

“You are hurting me, Dominic” she cried as she struggled to free herself from my clutches but my grip was strong on her hand.

“There is no need to listen to her nonsense” Elder Otto spat as he came closer. “she dared to lay her filthy fingers on me”. He added.

“Enough” I barked, my eyes flickering to dark blue eyes as I could feel my Alpha struggling to get out. “You don't tell me what I should do”. I warned.

Elder Otto nodded his head in agreement, he knew very well when to retreat and when to protest. Seeing his reaction, I turned to Kristen.

“Would you let go of my hand?” She snapped as her claws went through my skin, I released her from my clutches immediately and stared at my injured palm.

No one had dared to inflict an injury on me, not even Jake had the guts to do that, I looked at her with a hostile glare as I licked my blood.

Gath stepped forward realizing the situation he came in between us. “Wow, would you look at that…” he forced a pretense of laughter as he locked eyes with me. “Can we just put this aside?” He whispered to me.

I scoffed as I brushed him aside. “I would not ask you again, what happened Kristen?” I snapped.

“What else would have happened?” She eyed. “Rogues will always be rogues” she muttered loudly.

“Dominic” Elder Simon chipped in. “We can just put this beside us” he pleaded.

“I think so too” Gath supported as he turned to me, his face etched with pleas.

“Honestly…” Elder Simon paused as he turned to Elder Otto. “I would have done the same, he said some mean things and disrespected her father” he revealed.

“I was only worried and curious about the new Luna, the last one turned out to be a piece of shit” Elder Otto defended.

“Both of you get out”. I snapped as I smoldered towards the two elders. “Leave us alone” I commanded.

Elder Simon bowed before he turned heading towards the door but Elder Otto remained still his eyes locked on Kristen, fear evident in his eyes as he was brimming with hostility.

I could only feel a great surge of anger as I stared at him, he was defying my order. “Didn't you hear what I just said?” I frowned.

“I am the eldest and most respected elder in this pack and a nobody slapped me, won't you do anything about it?”

“You need to leave”. I repeated, my voice laced with venom as I gritted my teeth, thoughts of tearing him to pieces clouded my mind as I bit my lips trying to keep my flaring anger in check.

“I think you should leave” Jake supported as he gestured him to go. “We would handle this” he reassured him. Elder Otto stood still.

Kristen's eyes were prickling with tears as she swallowed hard, she stared at her injured hand as the sign of my pierced fingers was visibly seen, blood gushed out as she used the other hand to reduce the amount of blood gushing.

Gath stared at Kristen, his face flickered to pity as he exchanged glances with me. I flickered my gaze past him.

“I think you should leave old man” Jake repeated. “It is for your own good”.

Elder Otto smoldered at Kristen before turning back, his footsteps heard loudly down the hallway.

“I should be going,” Kristen said as she turned to go but I stopped her.

“What happened Kristen?” I asked as my face flickered to remorse as I stared at her injured hand. “I should tend to that” I forced a smile, my voice laced with concern.

“You don't have to” she snapped, hiding her hand at her back. “I can take care of myself”.

My frustration kicked in as my face flashed in anger. “Then I deserve an explanation”.

“Dominic”. Gath snapped as he came between us. “That is enough, you know Kristen would not cause a fight unless Otto pushed her to the wall and we all know who Elder Otto is”. He explained.

“Get out of my way”. I snapped as I pushed him aside. “You slapped an Elder of my pack, do you know how much trouble you have put me in?”. I frowned.

“You can't blame me” she cried. “I didn't do anything but yet I am the victim?” she scoffed.

“Yes”. I nodded in agreement. “If you didn't have another motive, what are you doing here instead of keeping a low profile I told you to?”

“Low profile?” She scoffed as her face flickered to a mixture of disapproval and disappointment. “Do you expect me to believe you, when all you have been doing is lying in my face the whole time”

My brows furrowed in shock. “What are you trying to say?”

“First you told me that you were a fugitive, I gave you shelter in my home, despite not knowing you, I went against my pack because of a stranger…” she paused as she swallowed hard, tears choking her words. “I had to leave the guy I was betrothed to, just because I fell in love with the wrong person”. She bit her lips as a gloom overcame her.

I scoffed as I nodded my head in disbelief. “I can not believe you right now, you got together with Noah immediately after we broke up…”. She cut me off.

“You broke up with me” she snapped. “You left me drowning in my own sadness…yet you still blame me for moving on”.

“The fact was that you wanted me to teach you, how to fight, the real truth is that you were using me to become what you are today” I defended.

“You are right” She nodded in agreement. “I did use you to learn how they fight, I used you because Noah kept saying I wasn't ready, but I never for once took you for granted”.

“You know what I don't want to talk about this, like I said earlier, knowing was just the beginning of my depression”. I hissed.

Kristen stared blankly at me, obviously pained by my words, she flickered her gaze past me as she held her eyelids in such a way that would keep the tears caged.

“I don't know what I was thinking coming here” she muttered loudly. “Well, I think Noah and I have overstayed our welcome, I think we should leave” she revealed.

Gath stepped forward. “Noah is our responsibility, we would do anything to make sure we keep to the end of our bargain” he reassured her.

“With what power?” She scoffed.

“I am the Alpha” Gath smiled, his voice laced with a tinge of pride.

“Oh stop the lies” she snapped. “If you are the Alpha then you are nothing but a shadow of the real Alpha, hiding behind someone, you have no power” she hissed.

“Whether he is the Alpha or not, Noah is our responsibility, we made a deal with Richard, don't make more trouble than you have already done”. I frowned.

“Richard doesn't have power over Noah, I don't want to be a liability to you and far be it that I am the cause of your depression, please let us go, we don't need your help”.

“How would you help him? Your son would be sad if his daddy didn't wake up. “ I mocked as I turned to the sentinels. “Take her and lock her inside her room, she would stay there until I lift the house arrest”.

The sentinels nodded as they grabbed her by her hands.

“Let go of me” she screamed as she struggled with them, but she was no match for them, she stopped kicking as she took in deep breaths jerking her hand away. “I would walk by myself” She frowned as she walked closer to me.

“I hope Richard kills you all” she muttered. “This pack would crumble to the ground and I would make sure I see to it”. She threatened.

My anger welled up through my veins as I stared at her. “I would love to see it”. I smirked.

“I heard that your parents were murdered by rogue hunters” she bolted out.

My eyes widened in shock as I staggered backward. “Enough” I warned.

“Why?” She scoffed. “You blamed me for reacting after that Old bastard spat on my father's dignity, why are you also reacting… my parents were the Alpha of the rogue hunters but your parents would always be a criminal who deserved to be killed”. She spat.

“I said enough” I yelled as I quickly morphed into my werewolf form, rage pulsing through my blood, I could not control my rage, and with a quick reflex I sank my teeth inside her shoulder throwing her to the wall.
