Goof
So you know I spent the night at Silvy’s after I sent her home. Let me tell you what happened before I went over to her house. I had church. We went over the usual things. Checking on all the businesses the club owns. Mergold’s expansion is almost done. The dispensary is getting a new shipment of edibles from a new supplier. Tank is taking on an apprentice from the high school. It is something Merigold started two years ago at her detail shop. She went to the high school for career day and talked to any interested kid. From that, she offered one kid a chance to come to work with her to see if that was a road they wanted to take in their life. Before long Lilly, Speed, Pixie, Thor, and Tank followed in Merigold’s footsteps. They walk the kids through every part of the business and offer some hand on experience. And the kids seem to love it. There is always a long list of people who have signed up.
When we finished finished with all of that Prez asked “ Any new business?” I need to tell my brothers about me and Silvy but I’m going to put it on the back burner for just a minute. “ Prez, this isn’t club business but I was hoping you could help me out,” I said. Viper nods, so I explain why Silvy stopped by last night and how scared she was. I tell my brothers how Silvy seems to think the number of drug seekers is increasing. “ Can you check with Bradford to see if he knows anything?” I asked. “Yeah, I’ll make the call,” Viper said. “ Was Silvy hurt? Is the baby alright?” Tank asked. This is why my brothers are good men. They are concerned about Silvy. “ Physically they are both fine. This time. Silvy was scared since she was alone.” I said.
Axel asked “ Why was she alone? Isn’t there at least two people on duty?” “ Most of the time yes,” I said. Then I told them about the slut Megan and how since the last patent was about to leave she took her break to go fuck some intern leaving Silvy alone and vulnerable. If it wasn’t for Bull things could have got bad quickly. “ Prez, you know how important Silvy is to Lilly. It would crush her if something happened to Silvy. Hell, Silvy is dear to all of us. She is family. “ Tank said. I know Tank is close to Silvy. I have walked in on many conversations between Tank and Silvy while Lilly was in the hospital.
“ We can put a prospect on when she is at work. Is Silvy having any problems outside of work?” Viper asked. “ No, it is all t the hospital. Silvy said it seems to be mainly on the night shift but they have had a few incidents on the day shift.” “ Alright, Goof get me her schedule and I’ll have someone posted with her but instruct them to stay out of the way unless needed. Brick, check in on this. I want to know why there is a surge in the drug seekers.” Viper said. Brick nods in acknowledgment. “ Thanks, Prez,” I said.
“ Isn’t there something else you want to tell your brothers?” Ace asks. He is going to make damn sure I don’t leave this room without telling the truth about Silvy and me. “ You got something to add, Goof?” Viper asked. I have nothing to worry about. I have done nothing wrong. “ I plan on claiming Silvy soon,” I told them. The response I get is not what I expected. I thought I would get congrats or support. I got that but I also got “ About damn time.” Rowdy laughed. “ I told you we should have started a pool to see how long it was going to take for Goof to get his head out of his ass.” Lug Nut laughed.
“ And the baby? You gonna step up and be a dad to another man’s kid.” Thor asked. I run my fingers through my hair down to my neck and rub. “ Yea, about that. There is no other father. The baby is mine. Biologically.” I told them. I can see everyone is confused by what I said. Well, except Ace. “ What do you mean the baby is yours? Silvy said she got a donor.” Rowdy asked.
I told them everything, starting with Silvy asking for my help today. The only thing I left out was our sex life. That was none of their fucking business. I don’t want to know about their sex lives with their ol’e ladies and I know they don’t want to know about mine. Yes, we all have seen or heard each other with the skanks before but that is different. The ol’e ladies are sacred. We will talk about them or share stories but never our sex life. I let my brothers absorb what I told them and waited to see what they had to say.
After a few minutes Lug asks “Goof, man, why didn’t you tell us before? Why not tell us about the baby?” I hate to say it but he looks hurt. They all do. “ When Silvy told me that it worked. That she was pregnant with my baby, I wanted to shout it to anyone I could grab. I wanted to put it on a billboard. But I couldn’t. I promised Silvy when she first came to me. And I wasn’t not letting my girl have some stranger's baby.” I told them hoping they understood.
Viper says “ We understand. I would have done the same in your shoes. So why are you telling us now?” I told them what happened in the kitchen earlier. They nod. Axel laughs “ We do have some stupid skanks.” He isn’t wrong. Tank, who has been relatively quiet, suddenly starts cracking up. I mean full belly, tears in his eyes laughing. When Tank sees us looking at him like he has lost his mind, he gets control of himself. “ These girls sure don’t make it easy for us to claim them, do they?” Tank said. We all lose it.
When we finally calm down and catch our breath Rowdy smiles “ No, they don’t. But they are worth it when we finally do.” “ Amen, to that brother,” Axel says. “ You know what? If I had to do it all over again, for my Speed, I would. No matter how many times it took.” Brick said. All the guys agreed with what he said. “ So do we vote?” I asked. I need to know. I know it sounds like bullshit, but the brothers have to agree for me to claim Silvy as my ol’e lady. It is for club safety. If any brother thinks the girl in question could be a problem for the club, or has caused problems, or if there is a question of her loyalty, he could vote no.
It hasn’t happened before but there is always a first time for everything. Viper looks around the table and asks “ Do we need one?” Every brother shakes his head no. “ Let me know when to order her kutte.” Viper said. I should have just thanked him and let it go. But I had to open my big mouth. “ That’s it?” I asked. “ Yea, Goof. That’s it. It’s Silvy. We all have known her for a long time now. She has been there for our celebrations, and when shit has been rough. She is already family. You are just making it official.” Viper said.
Now you are caught up. Silvy and I just finished birthing class and are at the diner. Silvy wanted bacon cheddar fries with ranch and sauteed onions and peppers, plus a chocolate milkshake. Still, her cravings aren’t too bad. I can tell something is on Silvy’s mind. I just have to wait. After we got our food, I got a double order of fries, and Silvy took a couple of bites. “ Goof, you are going to be in the delivery room with me, right?” she asked. I put down the fry I was holding, wipe my hands, and grab one of hers. “ Silvy, it is going to take men bigger than Brick to keep me out of there. I will be there from the first contraction to the last.” “ Good. I had a feeling but I needed to her it,” she said.
We eat and talk about what Silvy wants for the birth. I am there to make sure she has her wants followed. Not to give my opinion. It isn’t my body growing and delivering our baby. Only Silvy knows her body. Add the fact she’s a nurse, I trust her word. I know she wants an epidural. She only wants a c-section if it was necessary. She doesn’t want any visitors for a few hours after the birth. She wants us to have uninterrupted time to bond with the baby first. I’m all for it.
“ Goof, do know if Viper is still licensed to do weddings?” Silvy asked just as we finished. “ I think so, why?” I asked. I know she can’t be asking for us. It is still too early. I know I haven’t made that much headway. Silvy explains how Tony and Gena are having a small wedding at their place but can’t find someone willing to come to the house. Which is fucked up. I pull out my phone “ Only one way to find out.” I put it on speaker so Silvy can hear and talk to Viper. “ This better be good, Goof. You just about interrupted precious alone time with my wife.” Viper grumbled when he answered. Damn, now I feel bad. “ Shit, sorry Viper. It can wait.” Silvy said.
“ Silvy, are you alright? Do you need something?” Viper asked with concern. “ I’m fine. I just had a question and possible favor to ask. But like I said it can wait.” Silvy said. “ Go ahead,” Viper said. So Silvy quickly explained the situation. “ Set a met with your dad and his girl. I’ll do it.” Viper said. Silvy squeals “ Thank you so much Viper. I owe you. Tell Sabine I said hi.” I ended the call. Silvy turns to me “ Now that is settled,I have a question for you.” “ And what would that be?” I asked. “ Will you be my date for the wedding?” Silvy asks. I grin “ You bet your ass I will.”
