Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Sarah felt her anger surge through her body pulsing with irritation. She reached out her other hand, aiming to scratch Emily's face, but her other arm also got trapped in the gate, unable to move an inch!
Sarah was completely shocked, even Susan was hardly believing that Sarah could be so cursed as to get caught in the same way twice!
Observing this absurd scene, Emily was initially taken aback then, unable to contain herself, she erupted into loud mocking laughter.
The image of Sarah appearing as though she was in handcuffs was truly Funny.
When has the formidable and assertive Sarah ever been in such a dilemma?
Sarah's face flushed a deep red, seeing Emily laughing so openly at her expense, she screamed fit of rage. “Shut up Emily! Stop laughing! If you laugh again, I'll…”
She stopped mid-sentence, her usual threat involved Victor potentially divorcing Emily.
It wasn't a novel threat but was always effective.
But now Emily seems completely indifferent.
“You will what? Has your son divorced me? Please do, I'll welcome it,” Emily said, a playful smile on her face; the amusement was clear in her eyes.
Noticing Sarah's furious gaze, she chuckled turned to Evelyn “Call the property management to bring some tools and deal with this”
“Yes, Miss Charles,” Evelyn responded, struggling to hold back her laughter. She quickly contacted the property staff and then fetched a lounge chair for Emily and prepared a fruit platter.
Then Emily relaxed so comfortably on the chair, picking up a slice of fresh watermelon with a fork and eating it. Evelyn stood beside her and they both enjoyed the spectacle of Sarah's hopeless anger
“Bitch! Bitch! If I had known, I would have never allowed you into the Callum family. Just because you have a bit of money, you believe you can look down on my son after bringing a hundred million? Who do you think you are?”
“Yes absolutely, Mrs Callum, you're quite right. Therefore when I divorce your son. I would appreciate it if he returned my money,” Emily replied, not with anger but with a sweet smile, requesting the return of the money she had brought into the Callum family.
In the past, such humiliation from Sarah would have enraged Emily, given that Sara was her mother-in-law.
Emily was born into wealth, enjoying a carefree existence for her first twenty years. Her parents adorned her, giving her a monthly allowance of ten million more than she could spend. Surrounded by wealthy friends who indulge and compliment her, she has always been the centre of attention, never needing to bother herself with others' opinions.
Perhaps her life had been so easy, lacking any real challenges that fostered her proud and ostentatious character. She was like a dazzling star, bright and brilliant.
Her only real brush with adversity came at the age of eight, during a summer camp organized by her elite elementary school. They experience a terrorist attack on a cruise ship!
Her school charged fifty thousand dollars in annual fees, and the camp included a cruise to a private island near Lunvaria owned by the Waylen family.
As one of Lunvaria's four major families, the Waylen had a century-old legacy and profound connections.
With such a distinguished background, Emily was a standout at school. Not only did she come from a prominent family, but she was also stunningly beautiful with an exceptional figure and presence.
She was intelligent and excellent, excelling in her studies and consistently rankly first in her grade. She masters various forms of art, including classical dance, and possesses a flexible slender physique. She had even participated in a national competition and won a championship.
Emily was the epitome of a perfect child from a young age, destined to be in the spotlight.
At eighteen, she competed in a nationally broadcast event, her performance captivated the entire country. This is why someone as notable as Marcus could claim that she could enchant the entire high society with just one smile.
Yet out of all her admirers, she chose Victor because of that cruise ship terrorist attack. Her repeated forgiveness only led to more betrayals. How could Emily not resent Victor?
She longed to tear Victor apart, discard him, and scatter his remains in the sewers!
“Dream on!” Sarah retorted when she heard Emily demand the return of the money. She glared at Emily and said, “You insisted on giving that money to my son, and how do you want it back? No chance!”
Emily thought snapped back to the present, and her expression darkened, “That was my money! Regardless, the Callum family has risen above its modest origin. I'll overlook the project my family supported. But one hundred million, you must return to me!”
