Chapter 98 I Want to See Her
Those words hit her like a wake-up call.
Violet quickly grabbed her phone and looked at it. Her heart sank - she felt like the sky was falling.
She had already deleted him.
"What! If that really is Lawrence, I'm such an idiot! I actually deleted Lawrence! OMG! What do I do, what do I do?"
Violet frantically sent another friend request.
Then she stared at her phone without moving.
Isabella didn't move either.
After one minute, no response.
After two minutes, still no response.
After five minutes...
Still no response.
Violet started crying.
"It's over. I've lost everything."
Isabella: "It's not that bad."
Just then, the phone on the table suddenly vibrated.
Thinking Lawrence had accepted her friend request, Violet grabbed it quickly, but it wasn't what she expected.
It was a private message from a fan.
[Violet, I love your song so much. The lyrics are really amazing, the style is so unique, and with your voice it sounds incredible!]
Violet saw the message and clicked in to reply.
[Thanks for your support, but I didn't write the lyrics. My friend wrote them - her name is on the song cover.]
The other person replied instantly.
[I saw it! Keep it up!]
This fan was probably pretty young.
The song had gotten quite a response online, with many people liking it. Violet was really happy.
Isabella could also see the song on her own phone.
In just one week, it had gotten over ten thousand likes and over a thousand comments.
[So good.]
[Why isn't such a great song more popular?]
[Playing it on repeat.]
[The intro is amazing, the style is so unique. Haven't heard a song I liked this much in ages.]
Isabella scrolled through the comments - they were all praise, hardly any negative ones.
Isabella felt like she was watching a future star slowly rising, and she was genuinely happy for Violet.
"Oh, Isabella, someone called me yesterday saying they want to sign me to their company. Do you think I should consider it?"
"That's good news."
Isabella kept scrolling through the comments: "Which company wants to sign you?"
"Celestial Entertainment Group."
Hearing that name, Isabella's spine went rigid.
Celestial Entertainment Group...
Wasn't that the company that would have all those scandals in two years - exposed for chaotic internal management, unfair contracts, and rumors of managers using resources to pressure female singers into sleeping with investors, even a singer suicide incident?
"Isabella, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Seeing her body go stiff and motionless, Violet thought she wasn't feeling well and asked anxiously.
Isabella looked at Violet's face, snapped back to reality, and shook her head. "It's nothing."
She wouldn't let Violet jump into the fire pit that was Celestial Entertainment Group!
"Violet, Celestial Entertainment Group has a bad reputation. You shouldn't sign with them."
In her previous life, Violet hadn't signed with "Celestial Entertainment Group," but with a company called "Nova Arts & Entertainment."
"Nova Arts & Entertainment" was a very professional music company with a few veteran singers but not many outstanding young ones. Because of this, after Violet joined, she quickly secured a top position at Nova Arts & Entertainment, with all the resources tilting toward her.
This time, probably because Violet released her song online earlier, Celestial Entertainment Group spotted her first.
"Does Celestial Entertainment Group really have a bad reputation?" Violet had searched online but hadn't seen any related content.
"Yes." Isabella nodded and said casually, "I think I heard someone from the Taylor family mention it."
Violet thought about it. "Right, your fourth brother Kieran is in the entertainment industry too. You probably heard it from him."
"In that case, I won't bother with them."
Isabella didn't deny Violet's previous statement. As long as Violet didn't sign with Celestial Entertainment Group, that was all that mattered.
As they chatted, Violet actually forgot about adding Lawrence as a friend.
Until a message popped up on her phone.
[LP: Why did you delete me just now?]
Violet looked at it and excitedly hugged Isabella again. "Lawrence added me back!"
"Calm down first." Isabella said, "I know you're excited, but whether it's really Lawrence still needs to be confirmed."
But Violet had already lost all reason and couldn't listen to advice.
"But he really sent me the tickets. He must be real!"
"What gift should I send him back?"
Violet was incredibly nervous, her finger trembling above the screen.
She accidentally clicked and sent an insulting emoji.
Violet froze.
Isabella froze too.
"Oh no! Help! What did I just send to Lawrence? I swear I didn't mean to!"
Violet quickly pressed and held the emoji to recall it.
Just as she was about to click "Recall," a line of text suddenly appeared on the screen.
"Low battery."
The screen went black.
Violet: "..."
She wanted to die.
Violet collapsed onto Isabella's shoulder, completely defeated.
Isabella glanced at the passed-out Violet and kindly plugged in her phone to charge and restarted it.
"He replied to you." Isabella said after looking at the screen.
Violet sat up straight.
"What did he say?"
"He's asking why you cursed at him."
Violet: "..."
She typed an explanation: [Sorry, my hand slipped.]
Then she asked: [Are you really Lawrence? If you are, come meet me in person.]
No reply from the other side.
——
On the other side, Dash was talking with Ember about the concert when he saw Lawrence, who had been playing with his phone, suddenly stand up from the sofa and walk out.
Dash was stunned and looked at him in confusion. "Lawrence, where are you going?"
"I'm going to meet that girl who plays piano."
Dash froze, quickly caught up, and blocked Lawrence's path. "You have a magazine cover shoot later!"
Lawrence held his phone. "But the piano girl just messaged me asking me to meet her."
"She asks you to go and you just go?"
Dash was worried Lawrence would be scammed and tried to persuade him gently: "Let me tell you, women out there can be really bad. That piano girl - you don't even know her. What if she tricks you into selling your organs like last time? Aren't you scared?"
Lawrence shook his head. "Not scared."
"She definitely won't trick me."
"I want to see her."
