Chapter 54 Boyfriend and Best Friend's Double Betrayal
Isabella walked into Class 11's classroom and immediately drew countless stares.
"Is that the new girl? What's her name again? Isabella?"
"I heard she got assigned to the dorm next door and got into a fight with Elizabeth and the others. Even took it to Mr. Wright."
"What? Didn't she fight to help Scarlett?"
"She's so pretty..."
"If she's the Taylor Family's biological daughter, why is she in our regular class? Shouldn't she be in the international class like Bianca?"
...
"Isabella, sit next to me."
Violet looked at her with a big smile.
Before Isabella could respond, Violet had already pushed her into the seat.
Isabella looked at the super distant blackboard and raised an eyebrow. "The back row?"
"Yep." Violet excitedly hugged her arm. "The back row is great! You can read comics and watch shows in class without getting caught, and it's convenient when you skip class or come in late!"
"You really never change." Isabella teased her.
From what she remembered, Violet had always been at the bottom of the class.
She didn't like studying, but she loved music.
After graduation, Violet went straight to a music academy to study singing. While still in school, she was spotted by a top agent from the country's biggest entertainment company and signed as a key talent.
Later, Violet lived up to expectations. In her second year after signing, she became one of the top ten young female singers thanks to her outstanding popularity.
At this point in the story, Violet's future should have been brilliant, her life complete.
But Charles Green destroyed everything.
Charles was Violet's first love, her childhood sweetheart.
On the surface, Charles played the role of the perfect boyfriend, but behind the scenes, he had long been cheating with other women. In places Violet didn't know about, he got into gambling, got hooked on drugs, and used Violet's money to live it up.
Charles used various excuses like family illness and business ventures to swindle countless assets from Violet. It wasn't until Violet accidentally caught him in bed with another woman that she realized all those years of love had been her own fantasy.
She was devastated and desperate, but had no choice but to break up with him.
Having lost his source of money, Charles begged on his knees multiple times for forgiveness. When that failed, in his madness, he injected Violet with an AIDS-infected needle...
"Violet, who's she?"
Isabella snapped back to reality and looked up to see a very pretty girl standing in front of her desk, looking at her.
Her name was Juniper Fox. She had grown up in the same neighborhood as Violet since childhood, was Violet's best friend, and also the fourth member of 602.
Violet put her hand on Isabella's shoulder. "Juniper, let me introduce you to our Isabella."
Juniper paused. "She's that... the daughter the Taylor Family mixed up back then?"
"Yep." Violet's face broke into a smile as she joked, "A fallen rich girl stuck in our regular class."
She took every chance to nuzzle Isabella's face. "It's okay, if Mom and Dad don't love you, I'll love you from now on."
Isabella pushed her away with a cold face. "Who needs your love? You should worry about yourself."
Violet's pride and joy, her best friend Juniper, was the woman Charles had been cheating with for years.
In her past life, Violet had told her over the phone that Charles personally admitted he'd been involved with Juniper since the summer after their senior year.
The double betrayal by Charles and Juniper had crushed Violet.
Violet didn't know how complicated Isabella's feelings were and just laughed, saying, "The princess sure has a temper."
Isabella didn't say anything and lowered her head to clean out her desk.
Because her desk was next to Violet's, it was filled with trash and discarded textbooks that Violet had thrown in.
In her past life, Isabella had almost not wanted to sit next to Violet because of this. Cleaning the desk had taken her a full twenty minutes. She hadn't expected to have to repeat this annoying process again.
Seeing this, Juniper reached over. "Let me help you clean up."
Because of Violet, Isabella's relationship with Juniper had been pretty good in her past life, but after learning about those things, she now found it hard to look at Juniper directly.
Isabella declined coolly. "No need, I'll do it myself."
Juniper paused. "...Okay then."
Juniper turned to tell Violet about some recent interesting things. While helping Isabella clean up, Violet would also make time to talk to Isabella and ask her questions, and Isabella was willing to chat a bit each time.
But whenever Juniper tried to talk to her, Isabella acted as if she hadn't heard, barely responding.
Noticing Isabella's different attitude toward her versus Violet, Juniper's expression was a bit gloomy when she left after chatting with Violet.
Violet naturally noticed something unusual too.
"Isabella, what's wrong?"
Isabella wiped the desk. "Nothing."
"Why are you... so cold to Juniper?" Violet couldn't help asking.
Isabella just smiled. "Am I? I quite like her."
"That's good then." Seeing Isabella's sincere smile, Violet breathed a sigh of relief. "Juniper is really nice and easy to get along with."
Isabella glanced at Violet, knowing that a few words wouldn't shake the solid friendship between Violet and Juniper built over more than ten years.
But she would definitely expose Juniper's true face early and cut Violet's losses in time.
"I'm going to take out the trash."
Isabella got up with the trash bag.
As she turned around, she met eyes with that idiot Aaron not far away.
That idiot was actually looking at her.
Isabella coldly withdrew her gaze and strode out of the classroom.
——
The senior year curriculum wasn't difficult for Isabella. The day's classes were easy to get through.
After school in the afternoon, she and Violet were about to head back to the dorm when they saw an unexpected figure.
Bianca.
"Isabella." Bianca had been waiting for her at the door for a long time. As soon as she saw her, she walked over with a smile. "Big brother is here to pick us up today. Do you want to come home with me?"
Isabella looked at the girl in front of her who seemed full of goodwill, her expression unchanged. "No need, I'm staying in the dorm."
Bianca froze for a moment, then her face showed concern. "Isabella, are you still mad at Mom and Dad?"
"No."
"Mom and Dad actually hope you can come home to stay, and I hope you can come home too." Bianca looked at her with concern. "Isabella, I know you've been wronged all this time. Mom and Dad want to make it up to you."
As soon as Bianca finished speaking, a male voice rang out.
"Wronged? What's she got to be wronged about?" Gabriel walked over and glanced at Isabella with annoyance. "Isabella, you've already gotten what you wanted. What more do you want?"
