Chapter 370 Not Up to You
Gavin saw Isabella's aloof and cold attitude and laughed.
"You think you're tough?"
"Who do you think you are?"
"Just because you know a bit of hypnosis, you really think you're somebody?"
Isabella kept a straight face and said nothing.
Gavin's eyes turned vicious as he stared at her intently. "Are you coming or not?"
It seemed like he wouldn't let it go unless Isabella went with him.
Isabella gave the same answer.
"No."
Gavin had had enough. His expression immediately turned fierce. "You don't have a choice!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, he reached out, trying to grab Isabella's shoulder.
Isabella frowned, caught Gavin's outstretched hand, twisted it hard, and then kicked out.
Gavin stumbled back dozens of steps and slammed into the wall.
Isabella looked at him coldly. "I said I'm not going. Now get out of here!"
"You're asking for it!"
Gavin roared and pulled out a knife, slashing toward Isabella.
But the next second, Isabella vanished right before his eyes.
Gavin slashed at nothing.
He froze for a moment, then turned to see Isabella had appeared dozens of feet away. He raised his knife again and slashed toward her.
But just as his knife was about to touch Isabella's body, she once again dispersed like smoke from where she stood.
He looked around and found Isabella had somehow gotten to the stairway. Gavin raised his knife triumphantly and charged at her again.
But this time, just like before, Isabella's figure disappeared from in front of him once more.
After dozens of times like this.
Gavin was going crazy.
"I'll hack you to death! Hack you to death!"
Gavin swung his knife wildly around the room.
Isabella stood not far away, watching Gavin "lose his mind."
The whole time, she had been standing in one spot without moving. It was just that from the moment she entered, Gavin had already been hypnotized by her and couldn't see her real body.
When Gavin slashed his knife at the air once again, Isabella came up behind him and kicked him flying.
This kick carried tremendous force, making Gavin cough up blood.
Gavin stumbled forward and fell to his knees on the ground. He twisted his head to look behind him but saw no one.
When he turned back, Isabella was right in front of him.
"Die!"
Gavin slashed horizontally at the figure in front of him, but Isabella's shadow quickly dispersed again.
Isabella was still standing behind him. She swept her leg across, pressing down on Gavin's head and kicking it hard into the ground.
Gavin's whole head was buzzing.
He'd fought hypnotists before, but being toyed with like this was a first!
Gavin struggled to get up, trying to find Isabella's position.
But the next second, his pupils shrank sharply.
Because in his line of sight stood more than ten "Isabellas."
Whether it was because blood from his head wound had trickled into his eyes or not, the scene before Gavin seemed covered in a layer of blood mist. The previously bright room instantly became dark, like hell itself.
Those dozen or so "Isabellas" had eerie smiles on their faces, opening their gaping mouths to bite at him.
Gavin was completely terrified by what he saw! A chill rose from the bottom of his feet.
Gavin backed away in fear, stumbling as he found the door, pulled it open, and ran.
The other guards were also kicked out of the room one by one by Isabella.
Kennedy breathed a sigh of relief when she saw this, and put down the weapon she'd been clutching tightly behind her back.
Isabella noticed her movement and frowned. "What were you holding in your hand?"
"A stun gun," Kennedy said. "I made it myself."
Isabella was somewhat surprised and raised her eyebrows. "You can make stun guns yourself?"
"I don't know ancient martial arts, so I usually like to make some self-defense things. Anyway, I enjoy researching these things," Kennedy said casually. "This stun gun can handle some emergency situations, and it's very safe to use."
With that, she stepped forward and stared at Isabella, asking, "Do you want to try it?"
"How do I try it?"
"Let me shock you and see."
"What happens if you shock me?"
"You might pass out from the pain," Kennedy said.
Isabella: "..."
She moved away from Kennedy. "You should put that away. It looks kind of dangerous to me."
"Okay." Kennedy stuffed the stun gun in her pocket.
"Are you really not going to let Delmar return to normal?" Kennedy asked. "Delmar is Wilford's son. Wilford definitely won't give up on Delmar. He can't just let his own son become an idiot."
"Why don't you just let Delmar go?"
Kennedy felt that offending the Puckett family like this didn't seem like a good thing for Isabella. She was afraid the Puckett family might do something to Isabella.
Isabella thought for a moment and shook her head. "No need. There's nothing to worry about."
"But..."
Kennedy didn't know why Isabella was always so confident, but she was still worried for her.
"That's the Puckett family after all, and the Puckett family probably has dirt on quite a few families. After that incident, in just a few years, the Puckett family went from the bottom of the thirty-six noble families' ranking straight up to the top ten. Many families must be connected to the Puckett family. The Puckett family is far more complicated than it appears now."
Isabella didn't understand what Kennedy was talking about and looked at her somewhat confused. "What dirt? What incident? What are you talking about?"
Seeing Isabella's blank expression, Kennedy realized she didn't know about many things.
"When Delmar came to see me before, he told me that the Puckett family has dirt on Garth, dirt that could destroy Garth completely," Kennedy explained.
"What kind of dirt could destroy Garth completely? That serious?"
Isabella was naturally curious.
Kennedy looked at her with a serious expression. "It's related to the Powell family."
Isabella's pupils contracted slightly.
"The Powell family?"
Seeing Isabella's reaction, Kennedy thought Isabella was also scared by the name "the Powell family."
She stared at Isabella and said quietly, "Four years ago, after the Powell family's castle was raided by The Whispering Sect, it was attacked by several families working together. Delmar said that among those families was Garth."
At these words, Isabella's expression immediately darkened.
An attack?
How had she never heard anything about an attack?
Kennedy didn't notice Isabella's unusual reaction and continued, "Since the Puckett family has evidence of Garth's involvement in this, they probably have evidence of other families' involvement too. He can use this to threaten and coerce those families."
"So, Isabella, you should just let Delmar go. I know you're skilled in fighting, but offending the Puckett family is still very dangerous for you. This whole thing is too complicated."
She said all this just to let Isabella know how complicated the Puckett family was, to make her understand the seriousness of the situation.
But Isabella didn't really hear anything after that.
She furrowed her brows, looking deeply troubled.
