Chapter 365 Garth's Fatal Handle
Delmar thought Kennedy was swayed by his words. He stared at Kennedy with a determined tone: "That's right, I can get you back into the Hope family and make sure Garth and his family won't dare do anything to you again."
Kennedy frowned, "What makes you so sure?"
"Because we the Puckett family have dirt on Garth that could completely destroy him and the entire Hope family." Delmar said proudly, "Garth wouldn't dare disobey me."
"What dirt?" Kennedy was just curious what kind of leverage the Puckett family could have on someone like Garth, who was so ambitious and could disregard family ties for power and profit.
Delmar narrowed his eyes. His father had told him not to tell anyone about this.
But if he didn't tell Kennedy, she wouldn't easily believe him, much less agree to help.
So Delmar spoke in a low voice: "Do you know about the Powell family castle raid four years ago?"
"Of course I do."
This was no longer a secret.
It was said that The Whispering Sect raided the Powell family castle back then. The six leaders killed seventy-six members of the Powell family, including the current clan leader Gwyneth's parents. They not only killed people but also took eighty percent of the Powell family's wealth.
After the killing and looting, The Whispering Sect disappeared without a trace.
After this incident, the Powell family was leaderless and in chaos.
That's when Gwyneth returned.
It was because Gwyneth came back that the Powell family's situation quickly stabilized. Though some other things happened back then, Kennedy didn't know the details.
She was only thirteen or fourteen at the time, and much of what she knew came from elders in their families.
Anyway, after that incident, it was discussed among the forty-three clans for quite a while.
Delmar looked at her deeply and asked again: "Do you know that after the Powell family was severely damaged by The Whispering Sect, they were attacked repeatedly? And those who kicked them while they were down were among the other forty-three clans."
Kennedy's eyes widened slightly.
There was such a thing?
She shook her head, "I didn't know."
Delmar continued: "The Powell family was badly weakened by The Whispering Sect, which was the perfect opportunity. Some of the other forty-two clans who had long-standing grudges against the Powell family joined forces to attack the Powell family castle, wanting to wipe out all the Powell family members and make them disappear from the Northern Ice Empire completely."
"As far as I know, quite a few people were involved in this."
"Including Garth."
Delmar looked at Kennedy meaningfully, a cold smile on his lips, "We the Puckett family have evidence of his involvement. Once the Powell family gets this evidence, what do you think will happen to Garth?"
The answer was obvious.
The Powell family was still very powerful in the Northern Ice Empire.
If the Powell family found out that Garth was among those who attacked them back then, how would they deal with him? Could Garth still sit safely in his position as the Hope family clan leader?
This was definitely deadly leverage that could destroy Garth.
Kennedy clenched her palms.
She hadn't expected that the dirt the Puckett family had on Garth was this!
If this was true, the Puckett family could make Garth's life hell whenever they wanted.
So if the Puckett family used this to threaten Garth, he would obey them completely.
"Forget about getting you back into the Hope family—even if we told Garth to worship you, he couldn't refuse." Delmar smiled and looked at Kennedy deeply, "So, are you satisfied with this offer?"
Kennedy pressed her lips together but refused without hesitation: "I won't cooperate with you."
"I have no attachment to the Hope family anymore. I don't want to go back, and I don't care what Garth did."
She couldn't harm Isabella just to return to the Hope family.
Even though Garth's family kicked her out without mercy, even though people mocked her, she shouldn't use Isabella to gain benefits for herself.
Besides, Delmar had revealed such shocking information to her just to make his plan work, which meant what he wanted to do to Isabella must be something Isabella couldn't handle.
"You won't agree?" Delmar frowned, looking extremely shocked at Kennedy.
"Kennedy, I suggest you think this over. I can get you back into the Hope family, and in the future I can even help you take down Garth and let you reclaim everything you lost. Are you sure you won't cooperate with me?"
Kennedy said calmly, "I won't cooperate with you, and I won't betray my friend."
"Also, I'm warning you—drop your plan and don't do anything to hurt Isabella."
Delmar was furious.
"Kennedy, is something wrong with your brain? She's just Isabella. You haven't even known her that long. Is it worth it? Besides, if you just help me get her out, I won't really do anything to her. At most I'll just have some fun with her and send her back. Don't worry, I won't kill her."
"Enough!" Kennedy was angry. She frowned, staring at Delmar furiously, "I'll say it one more time—if anything happens to Isabella, I'll fight you to the end."
With those words, Kennedy left without looking back.
Delmar angrily kicked a nearby tree.
His eyes darkened as he stared in the direction Kennedy left, full of rage.
Kennedy really didn't know what was good for her!
——
Kennedy went straight back to dorm 11 to tell Isabella about this.
Although she didn't know exactly what Delmar wanted to do, she had a feeling it was serious.
Kennedy knocked urgently on Isabella's door.
The door opened. Isabella looked at her calmly with confusion, "What's wrong?"
"I just ran into Delmar."
Kennedy said: "He wanted me to get you to meet him outside Radiant University, probably to do something to you, so it would be easier to make a move."
"Isabella, he won't give up. Even though I refused, he'll probably still try to get to you. Don't leave Radiant University for now."
"After all, Radiant University is the seven great families' territory. Out of respect for them, Delmar won't dare do anything here. But outside Radiant University, who knows? Delmar is capable of anything."
Isabella frowned slightly.
What exactly did Delmar want to do?
Either way, Isabella took Kennedy's words to heart.
"Kennedy, thanks for the warning. I'll be careful."
