Chapter 271 Isabella Was Not Hypnotized by Her!
Isabella swallowed.
Isabella picked out what dishes to eat and placed the order.
An hour later, William looked at the table overflowing with plates that couldn't fit anymore - he was used to this by now.
Although Isabella ordered a lot, he knew she could actually finish it all.
She really could eat a ton.
William had noticed this early on, so every time he brought food for Isabella before, it was always three times the portion of a normal girl.
He was actually quite curious - he had no idea where all that food went, since she clearly hadn't gained any weight.
After finishing her meal, Isabella lay on the bed with her eyes half-closed for a while, then asked William to go with her to check out a nearby bookstore.
The two got dressed and left the hotel suite.
Isabella saw Alton in the hotel hallway.
Alton seemed to be waiting specifically for her. As soon as he saw her, he immediately approached and said, "Ms. Taylor, would I have a chance to spar with you?"
Isabella glanced at him. "Spar? You mean fight?"
"Exactly. I saw you fighting with Damon today, and you seemed really skilled," Alton said.
He had to test Isabella's abilities - only then could he believe she was truly capable!
"No problem." Isabella readily agreed. "But let's wait until we're back in Lumaria."
"Okay."
Alton nodded at her and returned to his own room.
Isabella and William took the elevator down to the hotel lobby on the first floor and left the hotel.
The bookstore was across the street - fifty meters to the left to the traffic light intersection, then across the crosswalk.
Just as Isabella walked out of the hotel and was about to turn left, she suddenly heard the sound of a bell.
The bell sound was very clear and abrupt, even somewhat piercing.
She involuntarily looked toward where the sound came from and saw a familiar face.
It was Rose.
By the window on the second floor of the restaurant across the street, Rose sat there, smiling at her.
Isabella couldn't help but stare into her eyes. Suddenly, a sharp explosive sound rang in her ears. The sound seemed to come from deep within her soul. Isabella felt all the cells in her body becoming agitated, and she had an urge to... destroy.
The intense discomfort forced Isabella to look away.
But the next second, she discovered that William, who had been walking beside her, was gone.
Isabella was startled.
Looking toward the road, she saw William walking straight toward the middle of the street.
"William!"
Isabella rushed over and pulled William back just as he was about to step out.
William was yanked back by Isabella, and his unfocused eyes finally returned to normal.
He looked down at Isabella's hand holding his, somewhat confused. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong? Why were you walking into the middle of the road?" Isabella was both anxious and angry.
William was stunned. "Was I?"
The next second, looking at where he was standing, he realized he had indeed walked to the roadside. His expression darkened. "It was hypnosis!"
Isabella suddenly understood. She quickly looked back at that window, only to find the curtain had already been drawn, leaving only the bell hanging there alone.
Isabella stared at the bell, her expression darkening.
At the same time, in the restaurant's private room.
Rose angrily threw the coffee cup in her hand onto the floor.
Her brows were tightly furrowed, her face extremely unpleasant.
"How could this happen? Why didn't Isabella accept my hypnosis?"
She had just seen Isabella coming out of the hotel and planned to act directly, but didn't expect there was a man with her. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, she decided to go all in and hypnotize both of them.
But she actually failed!
Isabella wasn't hypnotized by her!
That man was hypnotized after less than a second of eye contact with her.
But when hypnotizing Isabella, a sharp explosive sound inexplicably rang in her head. She felt such a terrible headache that she had to quickly interrupt the hypnosis.
Rose couldn't understand why this happened.
Eugene beside her comforted her, "Rose, you're injured. It must be because your body is too weak."
Hypnotizing two people simultaneously at such a distance was indeed not easy.
So it was normal that one of them wasn't successfully hypnotized.
Rose's face was dark, and she could only attribute the reason to her injury.
She was so disappointed that she couldn't make Isabella die this time!
And her head still hurt a bit. That explosive sound had deeply affected her, and her head was still buzzing.
Rose clenched her fingertips, her eyes full of gloom.
Eugene saw Rose's face was very pale and was somewhat worried. He went over to help her up. "Rose, let's go back first. We can make a new plan to kill Isabella."
"This time, we can only blame that man for coming out with her, causing you to overexert yourself. Next time we'll find a chance to hypnotize Isabella alone, and we'll definitely succeed."
Rose had no choice but to nod.
However, she still pulled back the curtain to look at where Isabella and that man had been standing. It was already empty.
"Eugene, let's go," Rose said.
But just then, the door to the private room was pushed open.
Isabella stood in the doorway, her dark gaze fixed on Rose, her voice cold and tinged with anger. "You just tried to hypnotize me?"
Suddenly seeing Isabella, Rose was stunned.
She didn't expect Isabella to find her way here so quickly.
But soon, Rose calmed down, furrowing her brow with a confused expression. "Ms. Taylor, what are you talking about?"
"I'm asking you, did you just try to hypnotize me?"
"No, I just saw you and wanted to say hello," Rose said.
Isabella looked at the fake smile on Rose's face, frowning tightly.
Lying!
If she hadn't hypnotized William just now, how could William have inexplicably tried to get hit by a car?
She had long heard that Novaria's hypnotists could kill without a trace, but she didn't expect it to be this kind of killing without a trace. It was completely twisted.
"You know very well what you just did," Isabella said in a deep voice. "Using this method to kill people is truly disgusting."
Hearing this, Rose gave a contemptuous smile. "Kill people? When did I kill anyone? You keep saying I hypnotized you - do you have any proof?"
Hypnosis left no trace at all, so of course there was no evidence.
Seeing that Isabella couldn't say anything, Rose's smile became even more disdainful.
"Trying to slander me without evidence - you're the disgusting one."
With that, Rose gave Isabella a dismissive glance, walked past her, and left.
Isabella clenched her fists, staring at Rose's back. "If there's a next time, I won't let you off."
Hearing this, Rose paused for a moment, a cold smile flashing in her eyes, and left.
Won't let her off?
Well, let's see who won't let whom off.
