Chapter 242 What Evidence Is There to Prove I Made a Bet with You?
When Isabella came with the police, she already knew she'd walk out of the station without any trouble.
Because she'd looked into it beforehand - the Veridian police could only determine someone's Novarian identity through their ID card nationality.
And she was indeed a Lumarian citizen, so naturally nothing would happen to her.
But there was one thing that puzzled her.
Logically speaking, ancient martial arts professionals didn't exist in Lumaria. Ancient martial arts only existed within Novaria's ancient martial arts families, and even in Novaria the probability was extremely low - maybe only one ancient martial arts professional could be found among a thousand people. And those ancient martial arts families would absolutely never pass on the power of ancient martial arts to a Lumarian.
So why did her master possess this power, and why did he teach it to her?
Only one answer could explain this -
Her master was actually Novarian.
And William had said she'd been hypnotized by a Novarian S-level hypnotist, which was why she couldn't remember what her master looked like.
Both her master's true nationality and the fact that she'd been hypnotized were somehow connected to Novaria.
---
Isabella left the police station and continued walking forward, where she saw Casey and Alfonso.
Casey saw Isabella too.
They'd come here to find Isabella.
Casey never expected the Veridian police to suddenly arrest Isabella, but it did make him curious - could Isabella really be Novarian? Was that why she'd been so accurate when betting on the gem identification earlier?
Casey walked a few steps toward Isabella, his eyes scrutinizing her. "Are you actually Lumarian or not?"
Isabella glanced at him coolly and said, "Do you want me to be Lumarian or Novarian?"
Casey snorted coldly. "I hope you're Novarian! Then you'd be detained and I'd never have to see you again!"
That's really what he thought. He truly hated Isabella - if she got detained, he'd be happy!
"Then I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you. How could I possibly be Novarian?" Isabella sneered. "Or do you think Hayden, as a Lumarian, could have a daughter with Novarian citizenship?"
Casey was stumped.
Indeed, everyone in the Taylor family had Lumarian citizenship, so Isabella naturally had Lumarian citizenship too.
And the whole world knew that Novaria was extremely strict about citizenship management. No one from any other country could apply to join Novaria's three major citizenships, no matter how outstanding they were!
Similarly, anyone with one of Novaria's three major citizenships couldn't transfer to another country's citizenship.
In other words, unless you were born with Novarian citizenship, it was absolutely impossible to obtain it.
This created a problem - if someone with one of Novaria's three major citizenships married someone from another country, could their child be registered with Novarian citizenship?
The answer was also no.
Because Novarians simply couldn't register marriages with people of other nationalities. This situation wasn't allowed - no marriage registration office in any country in the world could process it!
In short, there was no way Isabella could secretly change from Lumarian to Novarian citizenship.
After thinking this through, Casey understood - it must have been because Isabella's gem identification ability was so impressive that the Veridian police suspected her.
And now that Isabella had been released without any issues, they must have verified her identity.
Casey frowned and said to Isabella, "Since the raw stone procurement task is complete, we'll stay overnight in Veridian today and take the earliest flight back tomorrow morning to report to the company!"
Hearing him talk about reporting back to Celestial Jewels, Isabella sneered. "Have you forgotten our bet? Who was it that said if they lost they'd leave Celestial Jewels? Since you lost, you should leave Celestial Jewels on your own and never appear in front of me again!"
Casey glared at Isabella. "Why should I leave Celestial Jewels?"
"Because that's the bet you made with me."
Casey frowned and said casually, "What proof do you have that I made a bet with you?"
He turned to ask Alfonso, "Did I bet with her?"
Alfonso kept his head down and said nothing.
Casey asked Cecil, "Did I say I would leave Celestial Jewels?"
Cecil shook his head. "No, I've never heard of Ms. Taylor making any bet with our Casey."
Casey's face showed satisfaction. "See? Both Alfonso and Cecil say I never made any bet with you, so what you just said has no evidence!"
Isabella looked at Casey's smug expression, her brows furrowing slightly. "So you refuse to admit you made a bet with me no matter what, right?"
Casey's face showed a mocking smile. "Don't talk nonsense. I'm not refusing to admit it - it never happened in the first place!"
Isabella: "..."
Seeing Isabella at a loss for words, Casey laughed out loud, brazenly saying, "What can you do to me?"
As long as he refused to leave Celestial Jewels, could Isabella actually kick him out?
After all, Isabella wasn't the chairman - she had no way to deal with him.
Isabella sneered. "What if I told you right now that you're fired?"
When Isabella said this, Casey was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.
"You're really funny. Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to fire me?"
"I'm a gem identification expert personally hired by Chase! Even the company's other executives don't have the authority to fire me, let alone you!"
"You're really getting ahead of yourself, actually thinking you can fire me. Only the chairman can fire me!"
"..."
Isabella looked at him. "What makes you so sure I'm not the chairman?"
Casey was stunned. "You? Chairman?"
"Hahaha!" Casey laughed even louder.
"Everyone knows Celestial Jewels' chairman is Chase. How could it possibly be you..."
Before Casey could finish, Isabella shoved her phone screen in front of his face. "Look at this before you keep laughing."
Casey froze, looking at the phone screen.
There was clearly an agreement about a change in Celestial Jewels' chairman. The agreement clearly stated that Celestial Jewels' chairman had been changed from "Chase" to "Isabella."
Isabella had given this paperwork to Lila to handle long ago, but because the process was complicated, it had only been completed today, with the company's legal representative officially changed to her name.
Casey saw the words on the agreement clearly, and his expression changed immediately.
A flash of shock crossed his eyes as he stared at the phone screen, his voice trembling. "This... how is this possible?"
"Still don't believe it?"
Isabella gave him a cold look, opened her phone's contacts, and directly called Lila.
She put it on speaker.
So Lila's voice came through the phone speaker very clearly, very respectfully:
"Ms. Taylor, what can I do for you?"
Casey was completely dumbfounded.
