Truly, her words eased their worry, and Mr Jenkins sighed in relief. He also began to think that they weren’t plotting to take over the company.
“Okay, I will ask my secretary to transfer everything to you,” he said, stunning everyone.
“Dad,” Ann shouted, displeased that her father was giving them such valuable stuff. Though it wasn’t earning money for the company. Just the fact that the brand was their company’s, people purchased their latest designs.
“Are you displeased that I am getting it? Ann, let me remind you that that belongs to me. It’s either that or I take over the company. Your father is very clear about that, and that’s why he gave in,” Sophia said coldly as there was no way she was going to tolerate the brat.
“Also, let me remind you that in this family, you have nothing, so you better shut up when we are talking,” she added, making Ann look at her father, feeling wronged.
Though Mr Jenkins was displeased by how Sophia addressed his daughter, there was nothing he could do as he couldn’t fight them openly, which would only make everything worse. If Sophia were to take over the company, there was no way he would get it back; thus, he didn’t want to risk anything.
“If you claim that you won’t fight for the company after getting the brand, why not transfer your shares?” John, who had always been silent, said, making everyone look at him.
“The brand was something my mother made for my aunt. I don’t want to be rude, but you are just forcing me. You guys should just shut your mouths when we speak,” Scarlet said coldly.
“Scarlet,” her father shouted at her, making Scarlet turn her gaze from John to him.
“What? You are the one who asked me what gift I wanted, but now you are asking something in return? If you weren’t sincere in what you said, then stop pretending to love and pamper me,” Scarlet shouted, stunning Mr Jenkins as he never thought that Scarlet would ever talk to him like that.
However, he immediately felt guilty when he heard her words. After all, when he heard John’s suggestions, his eyes lit up, thinking that it was a good opportunity that had presented itself.
“My aunt doesn’t want to interfere with the company cause she respects my decision to let father continue leading the company and being its president. However, if none of you respect her and think you can bully her, then, as my mother’s sister, she had every right to take over the company. I might as well change sides and support her in it,” Scarlet said, shocking everyone.
They looked at Scarlet and Sophia. Mr Jenkins felt more guilty when he heard that. He had been plotted against Scarlet, but she was only thinking of him, even refusing to hand over the company to her aunt. If he refused to give the brand, won’t that mean that he was guarded against him and make his daughter turn to him before the time was ripe?
Also, he thought that after getting the properties in Scarlet’s hands, he would then forcibly take the brand that had just been revived by Sophia. But how could the two ladies not know their desires and dark hearts?
“Scarlet, your brother didn’t mean it. He was just giving a suggestion,” he said with a smile on his face.
“He doesn’t have the right to eye at our properties. He is just a son of a mistress, and his living here is already by my mercy,” Scarlet said coldly, making her father’s smile falter while John stared at Scarlet coldly. Ann, on the other hand, was happy seeing Scarlet making her father angrier cause of her stupidity.
“Dad, don’t defend him cause I will get angry. My godparents are coming tomorrow. Please tell your secretary to prepare the paperwork. In the future, my aunt’s brand won’t have anything with the Jenkins Group, and no one would be able to take it from my aunt,” Scarlet said as if compromising, but she was threatening him.
She knew how much the man valued John and would even refuse to hand over the brand cause of her attacking John, but the latter could only blame himself. Her mentioning her godparents made the man terrified, and he thought it would more better to finish everything before they arrived.
“Okay, I will do that,” he said, compromising stunning John and Ann, who had thought that their father won’t give in after Scarlet attacked them.
John stared at Scarlet, feeling that she had underestimated her. He analysed her words and realized why his father had compromised. However, he soon let things be as he thought that with the plans they had laid, how could Scarlet and her aunt escape? After that, won’t they have everything they want?
“Aunt, I don’t feel like eating. Let’s go,” Scarlet said as she didn’t want to see them anymore. The more she saw their faces, the more she felt like slicing them cause she would always recall how they had tortured her in the past.
“Okay, let’s go,” Sophia said as she picked up the handbag that was beside her.
When she came down, she came prepared, thinking that after having breakfast, they could leave without going back to their rooms. Scarlet was the same, but she didn’t have a handbag. Instead, she handed her phone and card to her aunt for her to place them in her handbag.
“Where are you going?” Mr Jenkins asked with a frown as he thought that if the two went out, they would only embarrass him with how dark their skins were.
“Godmother is coming tomorrow. I don’t want her to be worried and heartened when she sees us. We are going to the spa. After that, we will come to the company to finish off the paperwork,” Scarlet said.
“She might think that we had been suffering so much, and you haven’t been sending us any more to support us. I am afraid that out of anger, they might attack the company.”
John sneered as he wondered how she was better at acting than even Ann. All the words she spoke, she spoke in favor of their father, but it was just bringing out the guilt and also making their father afraid.
“Okay. Take this card and use it,” Mr Jenkins said, feeling guilty and at the same time happy when he saw how the two cared about him.
Scarlet didn’t reject the card as she thought that using it, she would be saving their money.
The two then walked away. They didn’t take the chauffeur as they didn’t want anyone trailing them and booked a taxi.
“Did you search which is the best spa?” Sophia asked, and Scarlet hummed.
In her past life, she recalled that the spa that they had always gone to with her mother had blacklisted Ann and her mother. The owner was her mother’s good friend in the city. Though they weren’t so close, she was someone with whom her mother was comfortable. After she came back, the woman was the only one who smiled at her when they met at the banquets.
“Let’s go to the usual place,” Scarlet said, stunning Sophia as she didn’t think that Scarlet remembered such small matters.
She really wanted to know what else the latter recalled, but she knew that she might really not get the answer, so she stayed silent, thinking that she could only observe more in the future.
“It’s good that we are out earlier than we had expected. We can go buy the houses and choose the perfect building for the brand. As for how to make my godparents leave tomorrow, leave it to me,” Scarlet added a glint in her eyes.
