Chapter 256

Chapter 256
“Thank goodness the girls are here to lift up her moods cause I don’t know what we would have done,” Austin said as he watched the girls walk to the house.

“They are really God sent. I have never seen Scarlet this happy. She always happy when she is with them and also, she does not need to be a grown up. She les herself have fun, be the teen she is,” Sophia said with a smile on her face her eyes not leaving her niece’s back.

“You are right. Anyways, let’s go to the study so that we can call Shane and Jalen and tell them what we got,” Martin said earning nods from you.

“You guys go on. I need to pack some gifts for the Parkers, they have been with and helped us a lot, we should give them something to show our gratitude,” Sophia said and Martin nodded.

“Okay, we will tell you what happens later, Scarlet too,” Martin said causing Sophia look at the direction which the girls went.

“You can speak to her about it tomorrow. Let her have her fun and also revise for the exams tomorrow. After she is done with it, you can now speak to her,” Sophia said.

“You are right. I had not thought of that,” Martin said with a nod.

“Looking at her, do you think she will really revise?” Santino suddenly asked causing them to turn to him.

“Why give me those glances? Don’t you know how she is? The last time, did she study when she was supposed to go for the exams before the news reached the family?” he asked and they kept quiet.

They knew he was right. The person they were worried about wasn’t worried about the exams at all.

“Let her relax. It’s also like revising as she won’t feel pressured. If she goes to revise, she would start feeling that pressure and keep telling herself that she can’t miss that opportunity,” Austin said.

“We have money, we can donate some to the school and she will be accepted. Let her be,” Martin added.

Sophia looked at them helpless but didn’t say anything as whatever they were doing was just a result of what Scarlet was doing. They were just worried about her but afraid that if they spoke to her, she would feel pressured.

“I will take my leave right now,” Sophia said before turning to leave.

“I think both Liam and Finley are suspicious of what we are up to. Should we include them to the meeting?” Austin said just as Martin was about to walk into the house.

“No need. Let them find out from their parents when the news have been revealed to the rest of the family,” Martin said. “After they hear it, they will understand what is happening. That would be better than telling them right now then they rush to tell their parents.

You know how much second aunt have suffered in the hands of first aunt. How could she let it go when she has something against her? Also, after Arthur is removed from the family bloodline, Liam will the eldest grandson and he will be the heir,” Martin said and his brother nodded in understanding.

Liam lifted his head from his phone and saw Sophia walking in, “You are back,” he said and Sophia hummed.

“The girls have been looking for Scarlet everywhere.”

“They met. I don’t know where they went or what they are up to,” Sophia said as she looked around.

She saw the changes in the house but didn’t think too much. She then turned to Liam and said, “I need your help.”

Liam lifted his eyebrow as he was surprised to hear that coming from her.

“I want to select some gifts for the families which accompanied us to America. But I don’t know what I should give them. I have never had to select gifts for people and I am afraid that I will mess up,” Sophia explained and Liam nodded.

He stood up, kept his phone in his pocket then straightened his clothes.

“Let’s go then. You need to keep that friendship with them,” he said and Sophia nodded agreeing with him.

“Yes, they are really good friends,” Sophia said with a smile.

She never thought that after they came back, they would have such good friends but they did. Friends who supported them fully and were there for them when they needed someone by their side.

They walked to the storeroom and Liam was surprised.

“All these?” he asked.

“Most are sister’s belongings,” Sophia said but didn’t explain much and Liam didn’t ask anything.

He knew that his aunt had a lot of good things but the fact they filled this place even after they were placed everywhere around the house, he was shocked. When he thought that there were still more back at home, he took a deep breathe.

“This is what richness looks like. If we were to sell everything in here, and be ranked just by the cash we get, we would at least be top fifteen in the richest family in America,” he said causing Sophia to chuckle.

“And in this country?” she asked, looking at him with a smile.

“First of course. I don’t believe that the Bennets are this rich. Well, they have all these,” he said.

Sophia shook her head helpless. “We don’t need to be ranked at the moment. After the six months, we can be ranked,” Sophia said and Liam understood the unsaid words.

“If you two need anything then, contact me,” he said in a serious gaze.

Sophia stared at him for a while then nodded, “Of course, Scarlet will need all of her brothers support. But for it, you need to work extra hard. Don’t let her be richer and powerful than you that she wouldn’t need your help.”

Liam who had not felt crisis felt it when he heard those words. When he remembered what kind of a genius, his little cousin was, the riches she had inherited and what she would be earning, his forehead was filled with sweat.

He couldn’t rag behind, he was her second brother, how could he embarrass her?

Seeing his reaction, Sophia pursed her lips but didn’t say anything. As long as he had understood what she had said. She really had high hopes for her older nephew, who was always kind and honest.

“Let’s start choosing the gifts,” Liam said as he walked towards the gifts in a hurry. He wanted to finish choosing so that he can go and start planning, he couldn’t waste more time.
