Alaine looked at her in confusion as she didn’t understand what she was saying. Tracy faceslapped herself when she realized that even she could not understand her own sentence.

“What I meant was that, you should never combine private matters with your business matters. Cause you were soft and love dad so much, you gave him control over it but does he see it in that way? Anyways, he is my father, I can’t speak anything ill about him. I have already said what I had to say,” Tracy explained.

At this point, she was very careful, she could sense that there was something off between her parents. Though she didn’t like her dad as he favored the person who killed her in her previous life, he was still his father.

If she showed her dissatisfaction to her mother, what would her mother think? Who knows, she might even lose the favor she had just gotten. If that happens, won’t she go back to square one or even have a miserable life just as in her past life?

Alaine stared at her as sighed. At least she now knew that her daughter would always side with her. After all, if she didn’t, she wouldn’t have said such words.

“Okay baby. Go to the dining and start eating, I will follow you in a few,” Alaine said as she carrassed her daughter’s cheek.

Tracy nodded and stood up.

Alaine stared at her departing figure then sighed. She took her phone which she had placed at the side, switched, unlocked then dialed her father’s number.

“Why are you calling me?” the call was connected immediately and the person on the other line asked coldly.

Alaine didn’t care about her father’s attitude. He had been this cold to her since she got pregnant out of marriage. However, she still could feel how much her father loved and doted on her.

“Eve isn’t my biological daughter,” Alaine said then kept quiet waiting for the man to say something but he didn’t, so she continued. “I found my daughter, she is called Tracy.”

Old Mr Grant sighed. Of course he had seen the news but since his daughter had not told him anything, he pretended not to know a thing. He had been waiting for her call but at the same time, he was anxious, what if she didn’t call at all?

“I know you saw the news,” Alaine said causing the man to roll his eyes. “And I know that you just rolled your eyes.”

Old Mr Grant turned serious. His daughter knew him too well to predict what he was doing and what he wasn’t doing.

“Is that the reason you really called?” he asked in a serious tone. A few hours ago, he had received a few calls from those old men in the company claiming that his son-in-law wanted to have dinner with them. They had called just to inform him and also to hear what he had to say about that.

Now that his daughter was calling, he knew that something had happened at home that forced that man to make that move and she had also heard of the dinner.

“He favors Eve so much. Tracy’s body is full of scars, dad,” Alaine said as she choked shocking the man.

“What happened?” he asked and Alaine narrated everything that had happened during the day.

“Rhoda told me to be careful of him. I just told him that everything he does, he should report to me as his superior and that I will be the one going for those business meetings with the clients and banquets. He refused. Who knew that he would make this move.”

“Dad, I called a few people on my contact, do you know that they are think that I am a housewife? That I gave everything to my husband. Some even refused to help me stating that they couldn’t help me if he had not spoke to them. Dad, is this company his or ours? Has he forgotten his real identity?

“I am more afraid that if I don’t take control soon, my daughter will suffer. Dad, can you please attend tomorrow’s meeting?” she asked in a low tone as this was the crucial thing she had called to speak about.

Old Mr Grant stared at the painting at the wall then sighed. He could only blame himself for what happened eighteen years ago.

Though he had not met this new granddaughter of his, he couldn’t let anyone bully her. She had his blood flowing in her veins, so how could he side with an outsider?

“Dad?” Alaine called in panic as she was afraid that the man would reject her.
