“What’s wrong?” one of the women asked as they stared at Eve.

“I had said one hundred thousand, for both of you! You share the amount!” Eve explained as she thought that they wouldn’t understand if she explained simple as they were illiterate.

She had forgot that each worker in the premises was a graduate. That was one of the requirements to be employed in the Grant’s mansion. Though they had degrees, diplomas and even masters, they didn’t care what kind of job they were doing as their pay was higher than the amount they would get if they worked in companies out there.

“We never agreed on that! If you would have given us that amount, we would have carried you like a hot potato instead,” the other woman said causing Eve to glare at them.

She swore that she was going to make their time hell as they cleaned the room.

“Then get to work,” she shouted as she looked at them in hatred.

“Work? I don’t understand what you are saying,” the other asked as they pretended not to understand what she was saying. Eve was left speechless, at this time, she was even confused what was going on with them.

“I paid you to clean the room. Don’t stand here and get to work or I report you to mom and dad,” she threatened but the women chuckled.

They looked at her in disdain as one opened her mouth to speak, “Are you threatening us? Do we have to remind you that you aren’t favored at all? Also, what do you think will happen after the madam discovered that you didn’t do as she instructed, instead you bribed her workers to do it for you?”

“You!” Eve said angrily as she pointed at them.

“Me what? I just spoke the truth. Also, the money we received, is a compensation for how you have been trying us all these years and a thank you gift for taking you away from our young miss door. If madam also found this, you would be in hot trouble.”

This time, Eve didn’t know what to say, she was so furious that she wished she could beat them up or even fire them but their words were a warning to her not to forget what had happened today, she was no longer the Grant’s young miss.

“Why keep speaking to her?” the other asked as she rolled her eyes.

“Just get to work. Madam asked as to film it as you cleaned the room, each and every corner of it. She will check it out later. Our madam has always been wise,” she added.

Eve felt weak, refusing to believe that her mother was this cold-hearted to her. She had always been the one who pampered her the most, so how could she do such a thing?

“You are lying,” she shouted, her eyes red out of fury.

The women exchanged glances then shrugged. “Lying? Go ask her yourself.”

Eve lowered her head, how dare she! If she went to ask, won’t it be the same as admitting that she had planned to pay some servants to get the work for her? If that happened, won’t her mother be more disappointed at her and even freeze her account and card, what would happen to her after that?

Seeing her silent, the woman who had just spoken snorted, she was very sure that if Eve dared to go ask, the madam would definitely support them after realizing that they had just claimed so as they didn’t want to do the work for them. Also, from how Eve was currently behaving, she wasn’t so stupid to report herself.

“Get to work immediately. I will start filming,” the other stated as she took her phone out of her pocket causing Eve to panic.

“But I have never cleaned anything,” she defended herself hoping to gain their sympathy.

“You also never cooked but didn’t you go to the kitchen to cook for our young miss? Everything always have a start. After the first cleaning, you can get familiar with it, if it is poorly done, you clean it once more till it comes sparkling clean. You better hurry up cause if it isn’t sparkling clean by dining time, you will miss it and sleep hungry,” the woman said.

“But I can just reheat it right?” Eve asked after some hesitation as she had never eaten reheated meals.

“Reheat? All the leftovers and the food left in the kitchen are always given to the dogs so you won’t get anything. Maybe prepare a simple dish for yourself then but I am pretty sure you would be so tired from cleaning your room.” Eve fell on the ground.
