Chapter 249
In a trembling voice, he called for Scarlet.
The Singhs halted but didn’t turn around, they weren’t in the mood for the games the man was playing.
“Scarlet, I am father, please don’t let them take the company from me, its my life,” he begged stunning them.
A smile appeared on Scarlet face. Immediately she smiled, Sophia sensed the change and the chillness emitting from her body and turned to her.
“Take the company from you? They definitely won’t take it from you, that, I promise,” Scarlet said without turning around but Mr Jenkins smiled when he had her assuring him.
Now that he had gotten her words, the promise, he didn’t have to live in worry that the company might be snatched from him in the next second.
At the same time, a wicked smile appeared on his face. “I knew it, she still wants her father’s love, how can she not do anything I want?” he asked himself as he believed that Scarlet loved and cared for him deeply. With this move, he was so confident that he could use the Singhs name rampantly cause he had her backing.
How could the Singhs lay a finger on him when they loved their precious granddaughter so much? The only offspring their daughter gave birth to?
He looked at the Singhs brothers’ back in disdain, almost spatting saliva on them. “So what if you grew in the Singhs and you bare that name? You are just adopted but my daughter? She has the Singhs blood in her so even if she didn’t live there, she has most say than you all?” he couldn’t help think happily.
Before he got to retract his gaze, Scarlet suddenly turned and looked at him catching him in surprise, he froze. He was so frightened as he had seen how Scarlet was close to her adopted brothers. However, he soon relaxed when he remembered that Scarlet had always wanted all of his attention.
“Scarlet my dear child,” he said with a smile though panic was in his eyes. He couldn’t help but wonder who would Scarlet choose between those fake brothers of hers or her biological father.
“They won’t take the company from you because, I am the one who will take it from you,” Scarlet said startling the Jenkins.
If it was before Scarlet got the Singhs backing, they would have just laughed at her words but now, hearing her say that terrified both Mr Jenkins and John, especially when they stared at the coldness in her eyes, it told them that she wasn’t bluffing.
“You threw my aunt and me out to the countryside to feed ourselves. Never did you ever care about us or even wondered how we were surviving out there. But immediately I was close to turn eighteen, you sent a butler to come for me. What for? To get the inheritance my mother left for me from my hands.
We suffered in the village and when we are supposed to spend the money mother worked so hard for and left it to us, you scheme on how to get it. If we never had the Singhs as our backers, would you have ever let us live? If the Coles didn’t save our lives back then, would you have let us go?”
Each word that came from her emitted the chill than mad Mr Jenkins face turn pale.
“I never knew that you didn’t carry your cards with you. Scarlet, my daughter, you have to believe me,” he begged. He couldn’t afford to lose her. He was the only one he could use to get what he wanted. If the Singhs realized that she didn’t care about him, would they really let her go? Would they let the murderer of their daughter go scott-free?
