Chapter 129
“You are back?” Mr William asked when he saw Scarlet walking in.
Scarlet halted when he saw the man as she wasn’t really expecting him to still be in their house.
“Why haven’t you gone back yet?” she asked coldly as she didn’t want to deal with the man at the moment.
The light in Mr William’s eyes diminished when he heard her words. Still, he totally understood her with how he had previously behaved.
“Dad?” Wren asked when he saw his father. Though she had already been told that he was at the Singhs, she had not believed it as the two families didn’t get close to each other. Now, she stared at her father as she wondered what was happening. Also, his tone had softened when he talked to Scarlet.
Mr William looked behind Scarlet and saw his adopted daughter. Shane and the others had just told him that the two girls should meet then decide what will happen afterwards. Who knew that they had already met up.
“What are you doing here?” he asked puzzled. His adopted daughter only had one friend who was so scheming. Even after being warned, she still complained that no one else wanted to be her friend so they had let her be as they could protect her from anything.
“Uhm. I have come for sleepover with Zippy,” Wren answered nervously as she was afraid that the man would refuse.
“Sleepover? Scar, did you make some new friends?” Mrs Singh, Arthur’s mother asked as she came out of the kitchen.
“Yes auntie. Meet Wren and Zippy,” Scarlet introduced the two to her family who just nodded at the girls. They recognized them but never talked to them.
“You are close to her?” Mr William asked excitedly as he felt that things would be so easier if that was the case.
Scarlet rolled her eyes and ignored the man.
“Uncle, can you call Zippy’s residence and request permission for her to stay here tonight?” Scarlet turned to her uncle. Her eyes blinking innocently yet pleading making the man chuckle.
“Okay, I will call them and hear what they will say,” he said as he would give the girl anything she wanted. Also, now that she had some friends in America that assured them as when she visited the country, she won’t be so bored.
“Aren’t you asking for Wren’s permission?” Second Mr Singh asked when he saw how his niece was behaving.
“Naah, I am sure that he can’t wait for her to stay here,” Scarlet said. “Have our orders arrived?” she changed the topic as she didn’t want to talk anything about Mr William.
Seeing her actions, Mr William sighed thinking that the girl was so stubborn just like him. He would have to lower his pride so that she could forgive him.
“Scar, I am sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. You can do anything you want, I will always support you,” he said making Scarlet who was talking to her aunt about the deliveries to turn to him.
She stared at him for awhile, she wanted to ignore him but the thought that he was the only parents she had, that he loved her and even lowered himself to apologise, she couldn’t bring herself to be so hard.
“It’s okay. Aunt, where is granny? Can you tell her that I will staying at our house today? I will spending a night with the girls and I am afraid that we would make so much noise disturbing them,” Scarlet said as she was bothered on what to do.
However, deep down, she really wanted to stay with her brothers in their courtyard. She was afraid that if she overstayed at the main courtyard, there will always be dramas everyday cause of her. After all, there are some people who are jealous seeing how she is being treated.
“Oh dear. You have the whole floor by yourself and the rooms are soundproof, so how can you disturb us, mmh?” Old Mrs Singh asked as he walked in. She had just reached at the door when she heard Scarlet’s words.
She didn’t want her to think that she wasn’t allowed to stay with her friends at the mansion. It was also her house and she could do anything she wanted. Not going to the other courtyard cause she had been prevented to do something. Also, she didn’t want anyone to be so hard on Scarlet afraid that she would chose to go with Mr William. To her, it was better Scarlet being at Country A with her aunt and the others than to be in the Williams mansion cause it will cause a stir.
Scarlet stared at her grandmother then looked at her father and understood what was going on. She nodded her head not opposing the decision. They were so good to her so she didn’t care about others as long her grandparents were happy.
“Should we go to my room first as we wait for dinner to be prepared?” she asked the girls.
Angela had already rushed to where Liam and the others were. She had initially thought that they were playing a game but after sitting down, she realized that they were discussing business, making her frown and get bored.
She snorted and looked away, those who saw her actions chuckled.
“How will you be a businesswoman in future if you can’t even listen to what we are discussing, mmh?” Santino asked as he patted her head.
“Who said that I will be a businesswoman? I will be a designer. As for the company management, my uncle can do it,” she said with a giggle. “I had forgotten that my brother is currently doing masters in Business Management. Yes, he is the one who will be managing my companies cause he can’t do anything to me while uncle can.”
The elders shook their heads helplessly. They had gotten close to the Coles and the others and understood the girls so well. If the girls were asked, they would rather always spend money than working, still, they thought it was a good thing that they had something they wanted to do.
“Then Scarlet will be richer than you if you keep been lazy,” Old Mrs Singh said with a smile on her face.
“Naah, she is lazier than I,” Angela sneered as she glanced at Scarlet who glared at her. “She would always employ people to manage the company. Well, its better being the boss behind the scene instead of everyone knowing that you are the boss,” Angela answered.
“What about the family company? Some of you will be inheriting them. Sam,” Third Mr Singh asked.
“Not me. I am already in the entertainment industry. Dad isn’t old that he can’t manage the company. By the time he will be retiring, my kid would have already grown up and would take over,” Samantha said causing all girls to giggle.
“I think that’s a good plan,” Zippy said with a laugh.
“Aren’t you girls going upstairs to bond?” Mr William asked as he didn’t want them there, they had not yet finished discussing business.
