Chapter 114

Chapter 114
“Oh, him? You will see when we go back,” Scarlet said as she winked at Shane, who relaxed.
He had been afraid that the latter wanted to help the man, especially after knowing she suggested selling the oil to him. It was as if she wanted the two families to be on par and the Singhs not to surpass the Williams. However, with this sudden reaction and the fact that the family would get a ten percent share from the gemstone mine, he felt relieved.
“Don’t forget that you will be leaving on Sunday,” Shane said, and Scarlet stared at him.
“Brother, it seems that you don’t want me to stay here,” Scarlet stated as she knew that she was speaking the truth. “Don’t you love your sister?”
“I think you can do great in the entertainment industry,” Shane retorted as he walked away, making Scarlet chuckle. She didn’t feel bad for him not replying to her question as she knew the answer.
“I know too. Too bad I can’t act anymore,” Scarlet said as she pretended to be in a low mood. “However, it is already good to be able to act with you.” She giggled as she ran towards him, causing Arthur shake his head helplessly, but he had a smile on his face.
The Scarlet in front of him was totally different from the Scarlet in the morning. She was so carefree.
They went around choosing people.
“Can they be sent to Country A before us? The butler and Mr Gibson can guide them according to the industries they are in? Like they can use Saturday and Sunday settling down so that on Monday, we can start the official business,” Scarlet asked.
She glanced at her aunt, then Shane, who frowned.
“Do you think that they will behave when you aren’t there?” Shane asked.
Scarlet sneered and said, “If they dare retort or follow the people I will choose, then I will send them back immediately. I, Scarlet, can never lack talented people on my side.”
Arthur stared at her, wondering where all the confidence to say that came from. It had to be known that most families in America opt to employ people from their school cause they are talented. Even if the most talented people are kept to work in the family, those who rank middle are never worse when compared to the people outside.
Sensing Arthur’s stare at her, she turned to him and said, “You saw that guy who came with us? Evans? Trust me when I say that he will become a well-known figure in less than five years.”
“I don’t doubt you,” Shane said in a serious tone. Scarlet turned to him and smiled.
“You are my brother, so of course you will trust me unconditionally,” she said with a bright smile on her face. Her words irritated Arthur, and he regretted doubting her. Now see that she seemed different to him.
To was already bad enough that his sister Nova would rather go to Shane when she needed something than to turn to him. Why did the guy seem to know how to pamper girls? He stared at him, thinking that he would need to have a talk with him and learn a few things from him.
“Let’s go. You told Mr William to be there in an hour, it's twenty minutes remaining,” Sophia said as she glanced at her wristwatch.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Scarlet said, feeling a sudden excitement.
“Thank you for today. Please arrange the people chosen and their visas. They will travel to Country A tomorrow morning with the other group,” Arthur told the manager, who was a distance from them.
“Okay, eldest young master,” one of them replied.
They didn’t walk away but waited till the group boarded their vehicle before turning to each other.
“What do you think of the people chosen?” one of them asked.
“It seemed that the second miss wasn’t just looking for high performance but also their character. From the people she chose, other than that group from the oil industry, the others are loyal and respectful to their superiors,” the other replied.
“You are right. But still, I don’t understand why they chose even from the industries the family isn’t in,” the leader asked.
“Have you forgotten that her mother was just the same? Also, don’t forget that most new industries in the family had been introduced by her and her eldest son, Shane. It isn’t a surprise if the whole family is the same,” his partner stated as he remembered the day Shanaya had gone to choose her people.
“I almost forgot. I think that the family is about to rise to a higher level. We can be on par with the Williams,” the leader said in an excited tone, but his partner shook his head.
“That’s where you are wrong. We might surpass that family,” the partner said, startling the man. Then they all looked in the direction that the group had left, and then fell silent.
After a while, the leader came back to his senses and shook his head. “Let’s complete the task given by the heir first.” With that, he walked away.
Shane drove at high speed, and in fifteen minutes, they arrived. As they parked the car, Mr William also arrived.
“Seems that I am on time, huh?” he asked when he saw the group coming out of the car.
“Uncle William,” Scarlet called him with a wide smile, stunning the man.
He stared at her, feeling amused at how she could change faces. But he didn’t feel any repulsion about it.
“Where did your brother take you?” he asked as he patted her head after reaching where they were.
“See good stuffs,” Scarlet said cheekily, but she glared at Shane secretly when she thought of how he had refused her to order an ice cream when they were in the hotel.
Mr William saw it and looked at Shane. He saw that the latter just glanced at Scarlet, seemed not affected by the glare, and was kind of used to him, and a look of surprise passed in his eyes. He had read about Shane and knew that he was a cold-hearted man, but all the young generation in the Singh loved him.
Also, he knew that no one at the Singh mansion could control Scarlet. Scarlet respected Sophia, but the woman would always give in to everything Scarlet wanted. Now it seemed that there was someone who could control Scarlet. He could tell that there was no good stuff that Scarlet had said, and Shane must have refused her rescue to ‘see the good stuff’.
“Mr William, welcome,” Arthur said when he saw that the siblings didn’t have any intention of inviting the man in and had started arguing.
Scarlet was stunned when she heard that and glanced at Mr William, feeling embarrassed. She was the one who had invited him over, but had forgotten about welcoming him.
Mr William chuckled when he saw the embarrassment and nodded at Arthur.
The group walked in, startling the family that was seated in the living room.
The elders had not gone back yet, as they were trying to convince Old Mr Singh to let them stay.
Old Mr Singh stared at Arthur, waiting for him to explain what was happening.
“Grandpa, what are these people doing here? Shouldn’t they have left already?” Scarlet asked when she saw the elders. She hated them so much, and from what happened in the morning, she wasn’t ready to pretend to get along with them anymore.
“Scarlet, there is a stranger,” one of the elders said in a low tone, but there was a warning in his tone, making Scarlet roll her eyes.
“If they don’t leave immediately, then I will,” Scarlet said coldly, startling everyone as they had never expected her not leave any face for them.
“You!” the elder who had spoken said angrily as he had been angered. He had tried to show her his authority, but she didn’t look afraid. Instead, she seemed to show him that she had more right to speak than him.
“You are just cold-hearted like your dead mother,” a female elder said coldly, and the atmosphere froze.
“What did you say?” Scarlet asked coldly as her eyes were full of coldness. She was emitting a murderous aura that choked the woman, and she stared at Scarlet in disbelief and in fear.
She was just seventeen years old but had such an aura! However, she recalled that Shanaya seemed to have the same aura on her when she was seventeen, and it made all the elders terrified of what would happen in the future. Soon, she smirked, calming herself when she thought of how she had dealt with her when she was that age.
“What is there to be proud of? She gave birth out of wedlock when she was still under eighteen. Who knows, you might end up just like her,” she said, and Shane looked at the woman coldly.
