Chapter 86 Fading Away
Luna Rosie inspected her arm. The purple color was gone, but it was there when she was still inside Mira’s room and when she drove her car back to the mansion.
What happened?
She shook her head several times, trying to make sense of everything.
Then suddenly, she felt weakness all over her body. She struggles to come to the bed, but she manages to lay down on the bed using her sheer will power.
She lay down on the bed. Why did her whole body feel so numb and weak?
Then suddenly the numbness was gone and her body regained her strength. What the hell?
What’s going on with her body?
She tried to rise from the bed to get some water but she felt like she couldn't breathe. She felt so thirsty, she needed to drink water.
Her breathing becomes labored, she feels like dying.
Is she going to die now?
But why?
She has no illness. She can’t die without suffering from a certain illness. That's a fact, unless she has an accident or is killed by someone.
She is a healthy human being. Mira’s body is healthy, she is sure of that.
With sheer effort she crawled on the floor and managed to reach the table and grabbed her bottled glass and quickly drank water.
After drinking the water she felt instant relief and felt her energy return to her body.
She stood up, went back to the bed and lay down just in case she felt dizzy again. She began a thorough analysis of her strange condition.
Staring at the ceiling in deep thought, she went back to the time when she left the park and aborted her plan to kill the old woman because she saw her mother’s face. She was perfectly healthy at the time, she had no health issues.
Even after she tried to kill Mira and failed because her knife mysteriously disappeared she was still feeling good, no issues with her health. But she remembered the purple color appearing on her right arm, but it was gone now.
Why did she have a purple color on her arm? What does it mean? Could it be the reason why she suddenly felt sick?
She stared at the area of her arm where purple color appeared. Nothing out of the ordinary was growing on her skin.
Ah, whatever it is, she hopes it’s over now.
Maybe she needs a good night's sleep and tomorrow everything will be okay.
She went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, donned her pajamas and lay down on the bed, preparing to sleep.
After fifteen minutes of staring at the ceiling, her eyelids were dropping fast and she fell asleep, drifting into a deep slumber.
At 11:00 in the evening, Alpha Gideon arrived in the room, lay down on the bed to sleep. He fell asleep fast and didn't bother to check on his wife because she looked fine.
…
The following day.
Luna Rosie woke up before her husband.
She got out of bed and entered the bathroom to do her thing. Everything is fine. She felt energetic inside the bathroom, splashing water on her face, looking at her face in the mirror.
Then she recalled what had happened last night, the strange feeling of numbness, weakness in her body and an inability to walk. What will she do if it happens again?
Nah, it will never happen again because she is perfectly fine and healthy today.
Maybe it was just a temporary thing, nothing serious.
Then she leaves the bathroom and returns to bed. Her husband was already wide awake, sitting on the sofa, browsing his phone.
He raised his head and looked at her. “Good morning my love,” he greeted her.
“Morning,” she responded cheerily.
“Um, did you go to the bungalow house last night to visit Mira?” he asked.
She nodded her head. “Yup. What did they tell you? What did Mira tell you?” she asked apprehensively.
“Nothing. Mira told me that you didn't stay long and left after a few minutes of chatting with her,” he replied.
Really? Mira and Lena didn't tell him about what she did?
Strange.
She fell silent, in deep thoughts.
Why didn't Mira tell her husband the truth about what happened last night?
Something is wrong.
Should she feel relieved and grateful to Mira that she didn't tell her husband the truth?
But why would Mira hide the truth? She was supposed to be angry at her for trying to kill her. She’s not scared that she will try to kill her again?
This is strange.
What is Mira planning? Why was she acting strange?
How about her?
What will she do now?
Of course, she will definitely go back to the bungalow house tonight to finish Mira.
This time, she will make sure that she can finally slit Mira’s throat successfully.
“Do you want to have dinner in the dining room downstairs?" he asked casually.
“No. I will have breakfast here," she replied, fearing the mysterious illness would attack her again. She doesn't want to make a mess of herself in front of the royal family.
“OK. I will order the maid to bring you breakfast here,” he said, rising to his feet. “And one more thing, please don’t visit Mira again because she is currently ill with the flu and recovering. Do not disturb her and besides this is for your own good. I don’t want you to get infected. Do you understand?" He said sternly.
“Copy, my love,” she responded, sighing heavily.
“Good,” he said and left the room.
She was left alone, sitting on the edge of the bed, seething in anger.
What to do?
She inspected her whole body looking for signs of the mysterious illness she encountered last night. Nothing looked out of the ordinary. In fact she felt good today. Her energy returned in full force.
She feels healthy, period.
She performed some stretching in the middle of the room.
A few minutes later, the maid arrived and placed the tray on the table then left the room quietly.
She sat in the chair and began eating her meal.
After eating, she sat on the sofa, grabbed the remote control and watched a murder documentary about a tragic love triangle happening in a small town.
She finished the one hour documentary and was about to watch another murder mystery when suddenly, she couldn't breathe, no air was entering her nose and mouth, she was gasping for breath.
She is going to die.
No, I can't die yet!
Anxiety sinks in. She began to panic. She could see the stars, her world spun around her, and slowly her consciousness began to fade away. She passed out on the sofa.
When she regained consciousness, she was all alone in the room. Where is her husband?
The door opened and her husband entered the room. He went to the closet, grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to take a bath.
Sigh. He didn't even bother to ask how she was feeling. She bit her lip bitterly.
She obviously isn't feeling well at all.
Before she passed out, the mysterious illness returned again. She noticed a pattern. After each attack she would return to her normal condition as if the illness was programmed to toy with her emotions, make her suffer mentally, physically and psychologically, then afterwards make her feel alright again.
It's a mentally and emotionally draining experience.
A cruel torture!
Or maybe she was wrong. But what exactly is going on with her body?
Why is she experiencing all these strange symptoms?
What’s wrong with her body?
If her mind-boggling condition still persists the whole day, tomorrow she will see a doctor for a check-up.
For now she will continue to monitor her condition.
She went to bed and lay down, wrapping herself in a blanket because she suddenly felt cold.
She was feeling fine a few moments earlier, but now she was feeling cold as if the room itself was turning into cold storage.
What’s going on?
When her husband exited the bathroom and looked at her, he raised a brow. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” he asked, rushing to her side upon seeing her body shaking uncontrollably.
“I’m feeling so cold, the room feels so cold, I’m freezing,” she responded, her mouth quivering.
He touched her arms. Her skin felt so cold under his touch. “But the room temperature is not cold at all,” he murmured, confused about what was going on with his wife.
“My love, bring me to the hospital, please?” She begged, gasping for breath. Her struggle is real. “I think I’m dying. I can’t hold it anymore.”
“OK. I will bring you to the hospital right away,” he said, lifting her in his arms effortlessly and bolting out of the room. His wife passed out in his arms in the hallway.
He successfully brought his wife's unconscious body into the car and instructed the family driver to rush to the nearest hospital.
The driver started the engine, drove out of the gate and sped to the nearest hospital.
While he was holding his wife in his arms, her body felt warm again under his touch.
She slowly opened her eyes and looked at him. “Where am I?” she asked in a low voice.
“We’re inside the family car heading to the nearest hospital because you passed out in my arms. Surprisingly your skin feels warmer now. Are you okay? How are you feeling now?” he asked worriedly.
“Yeah, I’m feeling better now,” she replied, attempting to sit up.
“Are you sure?” he asked, inspecting her face closely.
“Yes. I’m fine,” she insisted.
He helped his wife settle comfortably into the seat beside him. “But we must proceed to the hospital so you can have a full check up. To make sure you are okay.”
“Fine,” she agreed. She might as well take all the tests to make sure she is alright in the days to come.
The ride to the hospital didn't take long and the hospital staff took care of Luna Rosie right away.
Blood samples were taken. All tests were taken based on Luna Rosie’s request. Since she was already in the hospital she might as well take all the necessary tests to identify the cause of her strange illness.
She checks into the hospital's private room while waiting for the test result.
Alpha Gideon didn't leave her side and she was grateful for his presence at the lowest moment in her life.
It was already nighttime when the test results came out.
Luna Rosie's physician read the test results. “Based on the blood and other test results we conducted, you are perfectly healthy. Blood pressure is okay, the heart, kidneys, and liver are healthy. You are healthy, yet you are experiencing difficulty breathing, weakness and numbness in your body. Maybe you are experiencing panic attacks or you are currently undergoing mental health problems. I suggest you continue monitoring your health and then come back next week if the symptoms persist.”
"Copy that, Doc. I will return here if the symptoms persist,” Luna Rosie said. Huge relief washed over her after the tests came out okay and she is fine health-wise. Could it be that it’s just a mental illness? Panic or anxiety attacks?
After the check-up was over, the couple finally returned home.
“Are you sure you feel better now?” Alpha Gideon asked his wife, reluctant to leave her alone on her own.
“I’m perfectly fine. You may go now,” she assured him.
“Alright, call or text me right away if your strange illness attacks again or if you are not feeling well,” he said, heading to the door.
“OK,” Luna Rosie responded. She went to bed and lay down, staring at the ceiling, feeling better. She suddenly felt drowsy. Instead of fighting the sleepiness she succumbed to it and shut her eyes to sleep.
A few minutes later, she woke up again after a short nap.
This time, she’s no longer feeling okay. Her body went numb. She couldn't move her body, her toes and her fingers. The weakness returned in full force and she felt like she was dying again.
She was gasping for breath, panic and anxiety attacks returned again.
Nooooo! She can’t die yet because Mira is still alive.
Her panic worsens as she tries to move her arms. But no matter how hard she tried she couldn't move a finger or her toes. It was a very scary experience. Suddenly something floated in the air, heading towards her, then stopped a few inches away from her face.
Her eyes widened in shock after realizing what the floating object was.
It was her knife! The missing weapon she was supposed to use to kill Mira.
But why did it appear inside her room, and now directed at her face? Who is holding the knife?
Is there an invisible person pointing the knife at her?
“Who are you? Answer me! Show yourself!” she screamed. To her surprise there was no voice coming from her mouth. She couldn't even open her mouth. His whole body was frozen.
Panicking she continued screaming in deafening silence, trying to shout for help.
A few minutes later, the knife suddenly vanished in front of her eyes and the numbness in her body, the weakness and difficulty breathing disappeared completely. She felt fine again.
She quickly got off the bed and began pacing back and forth in the room, panicking.
Damn! This can’t go on for a long time.
She will go crazy!
What is she going to do now?
If she is healthy, why was she experiencing this strange illness? The symptoms come and go as if designed to punish and torment her.
What is going on?
Then she remembered Mira. The strangeness of this all started in Mira’s room last night when she failed to kill her!
Therefore Mira is the culprit!
Mira subjected her to all these kinds of strange illnesses to punish her.
This can’t go on.
She doesn't want to be Mira’s victim.
She will go to the bungalow house and kill Mira!
She went to the drawer and looked for the knives she had purchased online. But it was no longer where she had hid it. Where is it? Did she transfer it? But where — she can’t remember.
She spent the whole afternoon looking for the missing knives and desperately thinking about where she would put them.
When dinner time came she was already mentally and physically exhausted. She stopped searching for the missing knives and ate a delicious meal instead.
After dinner, she watched murder mysteries and stopped only when she received a message from her husband informing her that he would arrive home at 8:00 in the evening.
She went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and took a shower, wanting to look presentable in his eyes.
After she finished brushing her hair in front of the mirror on the dressing table, she donned her pajamas and lay down on the bed, waiting for him to arrive.
When he finally arrived she was already feeling sleepy. By the time he slept beside her on the bed, her eyelids were dropping fast, but she didn't want to sleep yet. She wanted to have a pleasant conversation with her husband.
She was desperately trying to move her hand to touch him, but to her surprise she could no longer do it!
She can't move any parts of her body, she can’t open her mouth.
It’s happening again.
She was panicking.
Then her breathing became difficult. She was gasping for air and yet there was no movement coming from her body to alert her husband that she was struggling. She was lying still on the bed, frozen in a serene state but deep inside she was wide awake and aware of what was happening to her.
Her life slipped away from her grasp and there was nothing she could do about it.
She is dying and if her husband can’t wake her up, she will end up dead for sure.
She tried her best to open her mouth and willed her hand to move so she could touch her husband and make him aware of her silent struggle, but to her dismay, she couldn't move her hand.
She was frozen.
She slowly lost sight of the light as she sank deeper into the abyss of death, welcomed by darkness.
