Chapter 80 My Revenge!
The whole day, Mira’s mood and emotion was in a state of limbo. The heavy feeling that her life is about to be disrupted again makes her edgy all day long.
She just can’t shake it off.
She was emotionally drained, couldn't think straight, the feeling of helplessness sank heavy in her heart.
She felt uneasy. Next week her life is about to change dramatically.
The thought of the shaman coming suddenly filled her heart with dread. She has that ominous feeling that something bad will happen to her next week the moment she comes face to face with the shaman.
She can’t shake that uneasy feeling gnawing at her stomach. No matter how much she tries to entertain herself with random shows on TV, it’s not working to alleviate the worry in her mind. The thought of Lena going jobless because of her makes her feel guilty.
She nearly threw the remote control onto the floor because she could no longer understand her chaotic feelings anymore. So frustrating!
Ah, she needs to leave the room to breathe fresh air outside. Maybe a change of scenery can help clear her foggy mind.
She left the bedroom, went to the verandah and settled on the chair, facing the calm water of the lake.
She shut her eyes for a moment and stopped thinking about her problems, allowing peace to fill her senses.
‘Things will be alright.’ She murmured a dozen times.
Serenity slowly took over her mind and heart. She finally breathed in relief.
That’s right, she will keep repeating that mantra in her head so that worry and anxiety will not dampen her fighting spirit.
She must have a clear mind and a willingness to face the unexpected because her life is about to change again next week.
She must stay strong for herself and Lena.
She looked heavenward and saw a clear sky on the horizon.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Alpha Gideon’s car approaching the bungalow house.
He’s coming!
She smiled brightly. Excitement surged through her heart. She stood up, waiting for him to come out of his car so she could hug him.
He parked his car outside and got out of the vehicle, looking at her with a loving smile plastered on his face.
Did he already know about the shaman? Of course he knows. Sadness clouded her eyes.
He finally reached her side. “Babe, what’s wrong?” He asked, noticing sadness flashing in her eyes.
She took a deep breath and hugged him tightly. “Luna Rosie came here to inform me that the shaman had been found. Is this true?” she asked, desperately hoping Luna Rosie was just making things up to annoy her.
He hugged her back and planted a kiss on her head. “Let’s get inside the house,” he said softly.
The couple entered the house and proceeded to their bedroom while Lena was busy preparing dishes in the kitchen.
Inside the bedroom.
Mira looks pensive and Alpha Gideon sighs heavily. “What’s wrong, babe?” he asks, cupping her face.
She looked into his eyes and said, “Luna Rosie came here and told me about the good news that the shaman has already been found and he will come here next week to perform the soul swap. You already know about it, right?”
“Yeah. I’m sorry about this. I personally came here to tell you about it. I didn’t expect Rosie to come here first and break the news to you," he apologized. “Did she hurt you?” he inquired.
“No. She didn't hurt me,” Mira quickly replied. “That is not my concern though. I’m ready for a soul swap. But Luna Rosie told Lena that she would kick her out of the mansion after the soul swap is successful. In short, both me and Lena will be kicked out of here,” she said in despair. Tears glistened in her eyes.
He heaved a sigh, rubbing her back gently. “Continue, babe…”
“I’m not worrying about myself. I can easily find work because I’m used to working. But Lena doesn't want to leave because she doesn't want to lose her job. That’s what I worry about. Can you please help Lena?” she said, begging him to help Lena.
He patted her trembling hands. “Don’t worry about it. I will help you. My family has many businesses in the city. There is always enough work for you and Lena. The moment you and Lena leave here, you will have a new job waiting for you outside,” he assured her.
“A-are you sure?” she asked in disbelief. “Please don’t promise me something you can’t do. I’m really serious right now,” she said on the verge of tears.
“Yes of course. I’m willing to help you and Lena start a new life away from here. Your life doesn't end here, your life begins outside the mansion,” he said softly, his words having a double meaning.
She blinks her eyes twice. “Once I leave here, you are not supposed to see me anymore. But why are you still willing to help me?” she asked, still doubting his sincerity.
He smiled and cupped her face. “You’ve been part of my life even for a short time and we shared a beautiful moment together. Of course, I will not abandon you. I will always help you,” he said, kissing her head and hugging her tightly.
Huge relief washed over Mira. She could feel his sincerity now. “Thank you so much for not abandoning me and Lena. I can finally stop worrying about what our future will be like next week,” she said, inhaling, loving the smell of his addictive masculine scent.
“When the shaman finally arrives at the mansion, I will personally come here to fetch you. I will be there to witness the soul swap and assist you and Rosie,” he said gently.
She gazed into his eyes and smiled sweetly. “Do you still want to continue our relationship even if I’m already back in my own body?” she asked, wanting to know what to expect from their new set-up.
“Yes. Don’t worry, baby. I got you covered. We will still be together after the soul swap ends. I will take care of you for the rest of your life,” he assured her, his tone serious.
“Thank you, I appreciate it very much, babe,” she responded in a thrilled voice, pleased with his assurance, feeling so much better.
They cuddled on the bed, enjoying each other’s company while discussing her and Lena’s lives outside of the royal property.
Mira was resting her head on his muscled chest.
Suddenly, Luna Rosie’s angry image appeared in Mira’s mind. She raised her head and sought his eyes. “If you want us to continue our affair, Luna Rosie would get mad at you and she would make my life a living hell,” she said, expressing her inner fears.
“Don’t worry about that issue, she will never find out. She doesn't usually ask me what I’m doing outside the mansion. She thought I was always conducting missions with my siblings. She will never find out about us,” he assured her, trying to erase her worries completely.
“OK. I believe you now. I trust you with all my heart,” she finally said, fully entrusting her life and future to his hands.
He gently caresses her baby bump while whispering sweet nothings in her ears.
Mira giggled, feeling like she was floating in the air, entering the 7th heaven. With him by her side she felt happy and complete. She wanted to stay like this forever, loved, cherished and protected in his arms.
They chatted for another hour, then Alpha Gideon bid Mira goodbye.
“I’m sorry, babe. I can’t have dinner with you tonight. I will have dinner with my family,” he apologized.
She smiled. “It’s okay. I understand.”
They kissed each other on the lips and left the bedroom together.
Outside, on the verandah, Alpha Gideon waved Mira goodbye as he moved towards his car. He slid into the driver’s seat, started the engine and drove away, heading back to the bungalow house.
Mira remained seated in the chair, looking heavenward, thanking God that he gave her a chance to love and be loved in return by her crush.
Lena stepped onto the verandah. She noticed a happy smile on Mira’s lips. “Where is Alpha Gideon? I thought he would have dinner here?” she asked. “By the way, dinner is ready in fifteen minutes,” she added.
Mira smiled brightly. “Lena, I have good news for you. I’m sure you will love it,” she said cheerily.
“What is it?” Lena asked, easing into the chair.
“After the soul swap, we will leave this place together. But we have nothing to worry about because Alpha Gideon will take care of us outside, he will not abandon us,” Mira said excitedly.
Lena raised a brow. “How? How can he help us?” she asked, confused.
“He told me that the royal family had many businesses all over the city. He will find work for us in one of those businesses,” Mira explained.
A huge smile of relief broke on Lena’s lips. “Wow, that’s great! I no longer have to worry about where to find work because Alpha Gideon will give us work. We will never become jobless after leaving this place. I can finally stop worrying about our situation. I’m happy now — worries gone!” she giggled happily.
Mira smiled, happy for Lena and their future together.
Meanwhile…
Alpha Gideon finally arrived at the mansion, and went upstairs to see his wife in their bedroom. She was scowling at him when he entered the room. “What’s wrong, my love?” he asked.
“I saw your car heading to the bungalow house earlier. You went there to see Mira?” she asked, observing his face closely.
He groaned. It’s no use lying so he nodded his head and replied, “Yes, you are right. I go there to check on Mira and our baby. Do you have a problem with that?” he asked calmly.
She gritted her teeth in anger. “I don’t get it? Why do you still want to go there when you know I will get jealous? Is it because you don’t love me anymore? Do you want to kill me emotionally?” she asked bitterly, furious that he disregarded her feelings all the time. Tears sprang from her eyes, very much disappointed in his cold behavior towards her.
Alpha Gideon groaned heavily. Wanting to avoid a messy confrontation with his wife, he moved back to the door. “I’ll have dinner with my family. Join us if you want,” he said and left the room.
Luna Rosie was left alone in the room fuming in anger. He left because he wanted to avoid arguing with her.
She took a deep breath and said loudly, “It’s okay. The shaman is coming. I can finally reclaim my life next week!”
The thought somehow comforts her.
Her anger diminished as seconds passed by, making her feel better.
Then she smiled and laughed triumphantly. Next week, Mira will completely disappear from their lives.
She will make sure it happens!
