Chapter 79 Postponed
Three days before the wedding, Luna Rosie and Alpha Gideon were summoned to the office by the Alpha King and Luna Queen.
The couple entered the room thinking they would be discussing the wedding.
When they sat on the sofa, facing the royal couple, the expression on their faces was that of joy.
“Guys, we have good news for you,” Alpha King Samuel begins.
"We'd love to hear about it, Dad. Please tell us about it,” Alpha Gideon said excitedly.
Alpha King Samuel said, “We are happy to inform you that one of our contacts has finally found a powerful shaman who can perform the soul swap,” he announced enthusiastically.
The couple’s faces lit up.
“That’s good news, Dad! Rosie can finally get her body back!” Alpha Gideon gushed in a thrilled voice.
Luna Rosie was beaming. Happiness radiated on her face upon hearing such good news. “Wow, thank you, Father. I’m so happy right now. Where is this shaman? Can I see him?” she asked, her tone brimming with excitement.
“Our people are currently coordinating with him to bring him here to the mansion so he can perform the soul swap between you and Mira the soonest possible time,” Alpha King Samuel replied.
Luna Queen Rebecca smiled. “I’m happy for you guys, especially for you, Rosie dear.”
“Thank you, Mother,” Luna Rosie replied ecstatically.
“What does the shaman need in return for performing the soul swap? Did he ask for money as payment for his services?” Alpha Gideon asked curiously.
“According to our contacts, he was asking for $10 million to be deposited into his back account and we agreed to pay him the amount he asked for as long as he could perform the soul swap successfully. Our contacts said he was willing to perform the soul swap first before we pay him,” Alpha King Samuel elaborated further.
“That’s good. When will he arrive here?” Alpha Gideon inquired.
“He will be here next week accompanied by our contacts,” Alpha King Samuel answered.
“That’s great,” Alpha Gideon enthused, hugging his wife.
“I’m so happy right now. I can finally get back my body, my son and my life!” Luna Rosie gushed in elation as tears of happiness sparkled in her eyes.
The couple hugged each other tightly, enveloped in joy.
A few minutes later.
Luna Queen Rebecca cleared her throat. “Um, I have something important to ask you guys. The wedding is happening in three days. Do you still want to proceed with the wedding?” she asked, observing their faces.
The couple stared at each other, pondering the question for a moment.
Luna Rosie finally said, “The wedding will be cancelled. I only agreed to this wedding because I thought there was no chance I could get my body back again. But now that the shaman has been found, there is no need for this wedding to take place. I will not allow my husband to get married to a maid,” she said in defiance.
“We understand, dear,” Luna Queen Rebecca nodded her head, supporting her daughter-in-law's decision.
Alpha King Samuel looked at his son. “How about you son? What is your decision?"
Alpha Gideon fell silent.
Luna Rosie looked at her husband, sensing his hesitation and said, “My love, your father is asking you a question. Don’t you dare tell me you are still willing to marry the maid?” she asked. Her tone was hard, laced with jealousy.
Alpha Gideon released a deep sigh. “Of course not. I agree with your decision. We will cancel the wedding,” he finally agreed.
Luna Rosie felt relieved. “And after the successful swap, I want Mira to leave the mansion. She can easily find work outside the mansion now that her face is scar free. She and I cannot stay in the same place anymore,” she says, openly expressing her disdain for Mira.
Sensing the couple's internal strife, Luna Queen Rebecca responded, “Of course, we will send Mira away. She can no longer stay in the mansion among us for everyone’s peace of mind.”
Luna Rosie looked at her mother-in-law and smiled brightly. “Thank you so much, Mother, for your support and understanding of my situation.”
Luna Queen Rebecca patted her hand. “Of course, I understand your situation, dear.”
Alpha King Samuel spoke, “Guys, I have a suggestion. How about we postpone the wedding to next month, just in case the soul swap fails then the wedding can still continue? What do you think, guys?” he suggested.
“I think it's a good idea,” Luna Queen Rebecca agreed.
“Me too, I agree to postpone the wedding to next month." Alpha Gideon seconded.
Luna Rosie had no choice, she was outnumbered. They got a point though, the soul swap might not work so at least she still has another option to fall back to. “OK. I agree to postpone the wedding,” she finally agreed.
“Alright, now that we have already finished discussing everything, this meeting is adjourned,” Alpha King Samuel announced.
“Thank you, Father, Mother,” Luna Rosie bowed her head, feeling grateful.
“We’re leaving now,” Alpha Gideon said.
The couple left the royal couple’s office and returned to their bedroom on the second floor.
The moment they entered their bedroom, Luna Rose shrieked in happiness. “Hooray! I can finally have my life back!” she said, clapping her hands jubilantly.
A few minutes later, Luna Rosie finally stopped celebrating after noticing her husband's deafening silence. She looked at him. “My love, are you sad that you will not be able to continue your relationship with Mira after she is kicked out of the mansion after the successful soul swap?” she asked, observing his reaction. He better not tell her that he is against kicking Mira out of the mansion. She will go livid in anger if he says so.
He shakes his head. “Don’t say that. I supported you when you said you wanted Mira out.”
“Good. I’m satisfied with your answer,” Luna Rosie said in relief.
Then he turned around, moving towards the door. “I’m going out to talk to my brothers,” he said.
“OK.” Luna Rosie sat on the sofa in high spirits as she watched her husband leave the room. She was so happy today, but she also noticed the gloomy expression on her husband’s face. Was he heartbroken that he could no longer be with Mira?
For a moment, she fell silent, trying to decipher his glum expression.
Should she make a big deal about his gloomy behavior or just ignore it because her happiness is overflowing right now?
Was her husband truly happy for her?
Was she the only one happy for herself?
But why would he not be happy for her?
Dammit, she feels conflicted right now. She should just be happy and not question her husband's feelings anymore. After all, the soul swap between her and Mira is going to happen soon. They can finally return to their respective bodies and continue their lives where they left off.
She stood in the middle of the room.
What is she going to do next?
Ah, right! She would go to the bungalow house and share the good news with Mira. She was sure Mira would get distraught because she could no longer continue living her pampered life as the fake Luna Rosie.
But it’s not entirely bad for Mira because once she is back in her body, she will be enjoying a scar-free face courtesy of her noble effort.
She grabbed her phone, put it in her purse and left the room.
A few minutes later, she can be seen leaving the house and boarding the E-vehicle heading to the bungalow house.
When she arrived at their destination, she saw the two women outside the house, relaxing on the verandah, eating snacks. She got out of the vehicle and walked briskly towards the women.
Mira and Lena tensed upon seeing who their visitor was.
“Hello girls! I have good news for you,” she said, smiling brightly at Mira. “Let’s get inside the house first,” she said and entered the house without their permission. She sat on the sofa in the living room.
Mira lowered herself onto the sofa, facing her unexpected visitor. “What can I do for you, Luna?” she asked apprehensively.
Luna Rosie smiled brightly. “Take a wild guess at why I’m here.”
Mira shook her head. She is not in the mood to play silly games. “I’m sorry, nothing comes to my mind right now,” she apologized politely.
“Come on, just try,” Luna Rosie insisted playfully.
“Um, I have something to tell you,” Mira said.
“Go ahead, what is it?” Luna Rosie asked.
“I will no longer attend your wedding out of respect for you,” Mira said with a sigh.
“It’s okay. The wedding in three days was cancelled already,” Luna Rosie revealed the changes to the wedding.
“Huh? But why?” Mira asked, frowning, confused.
“Because of the good news I’m about to tell you,” Luna Rosie grinned, her eyes glinting wickedly.
Mira’s curiosity grew by leaps and bounds. “Can you please tell me about the good news now?” she requested urgently, dying to know about the good news.
Luna Rosie smirked. “You know what? The royal couple’s contact finally found a shaman who could perform the soul swap. The shaman is coming here next week to undo the soul swap between us. Which means…” she intentionally let her voice trail off, taunting Mira.
Mira and Lena gasped in shock.
“Surprised?” Luna Rosie grinned, looking at Mira vehemently. "That means your days as a fake Luna Rosie are about to end. Next week, you will be back in your body and you will be kicked out of the royal family’s property. You have to find work outside. Are you afraid, Mira?”
Mira inhaled sharply, visibly shaken by the news, devastated that she could no longer stay in the bungalow house anymore.
Luna Rosie was pleased to see the desolation on Mira’s face, full of sadness. “I want you to know that my husband supports my decision to kick you out of the royal family’s property. In short, you will never become his second wife. I will take back everything you have taken from me!” she said indignantly.
Mira shakes her head. “I didn't steal anything from you. It’s not my fault that the soul swap happened,” she protested, trying to defend herself.
Luna Rosie smiled wickedly. “Does it hurt Mira? Do you feel the pain after discovering that my husband agreed with my decision to kick you out of the mansion? Well… it is your fault because you seduced my husband and developed feelings for him despite I have already warned you in the past not to love him. Now you are going to feel the pain of separation. Don’t say I didn't warn you. You only have yourself to blame! You are such a shameless slut!” she spat, her voice filled with venom.
Luna Rosie’s scathing remarks left Mira in tears.
Lena decided to intervene. “Luna Rosie, please don’t say hurtful words to Mira." She pleaded on Mira’s behalf.
Luna Rosie glared at Lena angrily and said, "You have also betrayed me, Lena! Because of what you did you will be kicked out of the mansion as well. You can no longer work here. You will accompany Mira outside!”
Lena’s face went white as the thought of losing her precious job terrified her.
“Luna Rosie, please don’t drag Lena into your vengeance towards me. I’m willing to leave. Please just allow Lena to continue working here," she said, begging in despair, tears rolling down her face. Guilt is already eating her up inside.
“No! I won’t allow a person who betrayed me to continue working around me. She must go! It’s time for my revenge!” Luna Rosie said arrogantly, no ounce of mercy in her eyes.
"Goodbye, girls. I’m done telling you the good news. Byeee!" she laughed, moving towards the door, sporting a venomous smile on her face.
When Luna Rosie finally exited the house and boarded the vehicle, Lena broke down, sobbing hard.
Mira comforted her. “Lena, please don’t cry. I will ask for help from Alpha Gideon so that you can continue working in the royal family’s household,” she assured her.
“Thank you,” Lena said and went to her room to continue her crying there.
Mira was left alone in the living room, still reeling from the shock. How did they manage to find a shaman that could undo the soul swap?
Well, it seemed her glory days were over. Time to accept everything with open arms and go back to her own body.
She took a deep breath and muttered to herself: Bring it on. I’m ready!
She went to her bedroom, lay down on the bed and started caressing her baby bump tenderly.
She’s going to miss the naughty baby growing in her tummy.
She’s going to miss Alpha Gideon’s company.
Sigh.
She was used to poverty all her life, nothing to fear living outside the mansion again.
She is confident that she can find a good job and start living her life on her own terms.
She will survive for sure!
