Chapter 110 Goodbye Forever
That night, the private plane landed in the capital and Alpha Gideon arrived safely back to the royal mansion.
Luna Rosie’s health deteriorated fast. She is now skin and bones, but she was fighting hard to stay alive one more day to be with her loved ones.
She looked at him lovingly as he entered the room. “I thought you would not come home tonight,” she said because it’s already 8:00 in the evening. Their son was already sleeping in his room accompanied by his nanny.
He walked to the bed and planted a kiss on her head. “My love, did you have dinner already?” he asked.
“Yes. How about you?” she asked.
“Done already after the conference,” he answered.
“Alright, let’s go to sleep. I’m very sleepy,” she said, sighing heavily as her eyelids were dropping fast.
She fell into a deep sleep before he could finish brushing his teeth.
By the time he lay down beside her on the bed, she was already snoring softly.
Alpha Gideon sighed heavily, staring at his wife’s frail face. She was now a shadow of her former self. Her beauty was ravaged by cancer. She can no longer stand on her own and needs his assistance to leave the bed.
But despite her illness she was not surrendering to death easily. She was fighting hard, taking all the medicines prescribed by the doctor without complaining.
His visit to the Moon Star Pack today was his last attempt at convincing Mira to save his wife. But the moment he saw her swimming in the lake, he realized that Mira truly belonged in Luna Amira’s world. She is finally at home in the Moon Star Pack and she is thriving very well without his help or anyone.
Mira finally found her own identity and carved out her own destiny.
She is in her prime.
Asking Mira to save his wife is asking too much from a girl who already suffered so much in her life.
That is why he no longer begged her personally to save his wife.
He waited for her to say the words that she was willing to save Rosie but she never did.
So he left the lake with a heavy heart and finally accepted the fact that he failed to bring back to the mansion the only person who could save his wife.
Now that the only thing left is waiting excruciatingly for that final day, that his wife finally leaves the earth without coming back.
It’s going to happen soon and there is nothing he can do to prevent it.
He shut his eyes and joined his wife in dreamland.

The following day, it was Alpha Gideon who woke up first and then Luna Rosie a few fifteen minutes later.
“Good morning my love.” He planted a kiss on her hollow cheeks.
She looked happy and cheerful. “Good morning my love!” she responded, smiling brightly.
“Let’s have breakfast in a while,” he said.
“OK.” She got up from the bed and he assisted her to the bathroom.
After she finished in the bathroom, he left the room and instructed the maid to bring their breakfast to the room.
He went to his son’s bedroom and brought him to the room to join them for breakfast.
The mother and son bonded after they had finished eating breakfast. They watched cartoon movies together and played puzzles.
Alpha Gideon spent time with his family the whole morning and spent the whole afternoon discussing business with his team in his home office.
When he finally left his home office at 5:00 in the afternoon, he joined his wife and son in the garden, playing toy cars on the floor in the gazebo. He spent time with them, playing with his son while his wife watched them happily in her rocking chair.
The whole day went well.
The evening comes and the little family has dinner together in their room.
After putting her son to sleep in the other room, Luna Rosie brushed her teeth and donned her pajamas, ready to retire for the night.
One hour later, the couple can be seen lying on the bed, cuddling.
Alpha Gideon was holding his wife lovingly in his arms, making sure she could feel his love and devotion to her.
She looked him in the eye. “After my death, I know you will marry again. Do you want to marry Luna Amira?” she asked him directly.
He blinked twice and took a deep breath. “Let’s not talk about it,” he replied, ignoring her question.
“If one day you want to marry again and you want Mira to be your next wife, then I will support you. Go ahead, you can marry her with my blessing. It is my way of repaying her for all the bad things I have done to her in the past. I know it’s not easy for her to forgive my sins, but I’m hoping that I can atone for my sins in the only way I know how. My heart is heavy with guilt,” she said remorsefully.
He gently caresses her back. “Stop talking about stressful things. I don’t want you to dwell in sadness and stress,” he said.
“But I want to discuss these things with you because I might no longer be alive tomorrow. If you marry Mira, I’m sure she will be a good stepmother to our son Gilbert because she is a good person. So if you want to marry again one day, it should be Mira,” she said with finality in her tone.
“OK, as you say so,” he responded to finally put an end to their awkward topic.
She hugged him tightly. “I love you so much, my husband. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for always being there for me through thick and thin. I appreciate your love. Take care of our son and yourself,” she said, feeling emotional and wretched inside. Tears flooded her eyes.
“I love you so much,” he replied lovingly, rubbing her back gently.
She began yawning; her eyelids were dropping fast. “I feel sleepy. I’m going to sleep now,” she said and closed her eyes to sleep.
He planted a gentle kiss on her head. “Good night, my love. Sweet dreams.”
Luna Rosie slept peacefully that night, cradled in her husband’s loving arms.
The following day.
When Alpha Gideon woke up at 7:00 in the morning, he was still holding his wife in his arms.
When he tries to disengage himself from their embrace he notices a few things that make his blood run cold. Her body is stiff and her skin feels cold to touch. His eyes widened with alarm. Dread washed over him after realizing she had died in his arms last night and he was unaware of it.
He put his fingers on her nose. She was no longer breathing.
She passed away last night while they fell asleep together.
She died in his arms.
Devastated and heartbroken, he broke into tears, crying helplessly. “My love, why did you leave me without saying goodbye?”
He sat beside her corpse on the bed, still reeling from the shock of her sudden death.
He covered her body with a blanket. “Rest in peace my love. Your suffering is over. I promise you, I will take care of our son. I will raise him to be the best version of myself,” he said sorrowfully.
For the last time, he hugged her lifeless body and planted a kiss on her cold lips. Afterward he left the room and calmly informed his family that his wife had passed away last night and he only noticed her death when he woke up this morning. He asked for his mother’s help to prepare the mansion for mourning and burial.
The royal family members rushed into the room to see Luna Rosie for the last time.
Alpha Gideon brought his son into the room and explained to his son that his mommy had already passed away from illness and she would not come back anymore.
Five year old Gilbert began crying hard. "Mommy! Mommy wake up!" He was desperately trying to wake up his mother.
Everyone has tears in their eyes upon witnessing such a heart wrenching scene happening in front of them.
One hour later.
Funeral home staff arrived at the mansion and put the deceased's body in a coffin to be ready for burial the following day. When Luna Rosie was still alive, she specifically gave instructions to her husband that she wanted a private burial. She doesn't want her body to undergo embalming and wants a golden coffin as her resting place. She also wishes to be buried in the Royal Family Cemetery in the afternoon.
Luna Queen Rebecca quickly informed Luna Rosie’s family that she had already passed away. She would send a private plane to bring Rosie’s family to the mansion the same day.
The whole day passed like a blur in Alpha Gideon’s grieving heart. He never left his son’s side. He never leaves his wife’s coffin unless he needs to go to the bathroom.
He didn’t sleep that night, sitting beside the coffin, comforting his wife in the afterlife.
The atmosphere in the mansion was gloomy.
The following day.
After lunch, the family get in their cars and proceed to the Royal Family Cemetery just a few minutes away from the mansion.
It was a sunny day in the cemetery, a beautiful day for burials.
Alpha Gideon was holding his son in his arms during the funeral ceremony conducted by the officiant.
The funeral service was solemn and filled with memorable memories of Luna Rosie’s life.
Everyone pays their last respect to a life cut short because of cancer.
The time for burial has finally come and the golden coffin was buried six feet under.
After the burial was over, Alpha Gideon and his son stayed longer in the cemetery accompanied by the royal family and Luna Rosie’s family.
When darkness came, they finally left the cemetery and returned to the royal mansion.
That night, Alpha Gideon and his son slept on the couple’s bed.
He fell asleep at 10:00 in the evening and dreamed of his wife in his sleep.
In his dream, he saw his wife standing in the center of a garden, surrounded by beautiful flowers. She looked happy. She told him that she was fine and he didn't need to feel sad about her anymore. She also told him to move on with his life and start anew.
The following day, Alpha Gideon woke up to a bright new day, his son still sleeping beside him on the bed.
His life is not over yet. He still has his son to keep him company.
His day of healing had just begun.
