Chapter 11 What’s Going On?

Chapter 11 What’s Going On?
When Mira and Lena were back in the mansion, Mira stopped in the living room and pretend to stare at the family portrait of the royal family hanging on the wall.
“Luna, are you wondering who these people are? You already know your husband’s name, right?” Lena said.
Mira nodded her head. “Yeah, how about their names?” she asked, pretending she didn't remember.
Lena began introducing the people in the portrait. “The two people sitting in the center are the current royal couple, Alpha King Samuel and Luna Queen Rebecca. The ladies with brown hair were their two daughters, Luna Rachel and Luna Raquel. The royal sons are Alpha Gideon, he is your husband, this one is Alpha Dane and the youngest, Alpha Roland.”
Mira smiled. “Thank you for the information, Lena.”
“Glad to help you, Luna. Don’t hesitate to ask me questions.” Lena beams.
“Alright, let’s go upstairs now. I’m dying to eat carrot cake,” Mira said, looking at the box of carrot cake that Lena was holding in her hand.
The women climbed the stairs and proceeded to the second floor.
After arriving in the room, Lena served the carrot cake and said, “Luna, shall I get water or lemon juice from the kitchen, which is which?”
“I prefer lemon juice,” replied Mira, munching on the cake.
“OK.” Lena left the room.
While eating the carrot cake, she glanced at the picture frame on top of the dressing table. She was surrounded by two people which means that they are her parents and she is the only child. She didn't remember the names of Luna Rosie’s parents.
When Lena returned to the room, she brought with her a pitcher of fresh lemon juice and glasses.
“The carrot cake is delicious. Eat some Lena,” Mira told her.
Lena smiled and picked up one slice of carrot cake. “Thank you, Luna.”
Mira picked up the picture frame of Luna Rosie’s family. “Who are these people? Are they my parents?” she asked.
“Yeah, your mother’s name is Luna Diane and your father’s name is Alpha Miguel. They are the pack leaders of the Grayme Pack, a small pack under the Alpha King’s Territory,” Lena explained.
“Since when was the last time I visited my pack?” Mira asked.
“Last three months ago. But your parents visited you here last month,” replied Lena.
“Ah, okay,” Mira murmured. “Is the view there in my hometown beautiful?” she asked.
“Yeah, your hometown offers spectacular scenery in the countryside. You love visiting that place before you get pregnant with your child,” Lena explained.
“I see…” Mira walked to the window and looked down below. She saw Luna Rosie sitting on the bench looking forlorn. The woman must have sensed her stare. She looked up and their eyes met. The poor woman was shooting daggers into her eyes. She tore her gaze away.
Mira sighed. The real owner of the body she was occupying right now was now a lowly servant because of her.
She felt guilty, as if she indeed stole her current life that originally did not belong to her.
Correction, she didn’t steal Luna Rosie’s life, it was given to her by God. Therefore it’s not her fault at all.
Ada sneered. ‘No, you inhabit Luna Rosie’s life because that mysterious guy Sebastain made a mistake! Admit it. Now the best thing you can do is ask Sebastian to correct his mistake. Ask him to restore your soul and Luna Rosie’s souls back into your original bodies. Do the right thing!’
Mira sighed. The annoying wolf was interfering with her thoughts again. ‘I’m surprised you didn't intervene when I was talking to Luna Rosie’s soul in the garden?’
‘I was about to, but Rosie is enough to beat you up with her words. Do you think she will just accept her fate? You are wrong. Wait for your downfall, impostor! You will be begging for mercy once she punishes you!’ Ada said resentfully.
Mira sighed. ‘I have to remind you that she is a lowly servant now, the odds are not in her favor, so don’t hope too much, you might get disappointed,’ she retorted smugly.
‘You are such a cruel woman. Happy with your fake life eh? You will never become a rich and beautiful woman just like Luna Rosie in this lifetime. You envy her life, that's why you stole her body. You are a fake copycat!' Ada continued her assault.
Mira was riled up. This wolf is determined to ruin her mood today. But she won’t allow it. ‘Shut up! Go back to your hiding place now!’
‘Fine, good luck solving your problem!’ Ada said and went silent, retreating to her hiding place.
Mira closed her eyes as her head began to ache. She quickly massaged her temples to lessen the pain.
“Luna, are you okay?” Lena asked worriedly.
“I’m going to lie down on the bed and rest for a while. I suddenly had a painful headache.” Mira slowly walked to the bed and lay down assisted by Lena.
“I will get you some medicine for your headache,” Lena said.
Mira shook her head. “No need. I just need to lay down on the bed and rest. The pain will go away after I have a good rest.”
“Maybe you need bed rest for one week? It seems your memory loss is affecting your body and mind in a bad way. We just came back from the garden a while ago but you already look worn out. Trying to remember everything in your life must have exhausted you physically. Bed rest is good for your body and for your baby,” Lena suggested.
“You want me to lay down on the bed all day, doing nothing but eating and watching TV? That sounds boring,” Mira sighed. “Anyways, thanks for your suggestion, Lena. I will think about it.”
“OK.” Lena walked to the door. “Luna, I’ll get the medicine so the pain goes away and you can have a good rest. Don’t worry, the medicine is safe for your baby’s health.”
“OK as you say so,” Mira murmured and closed her eyes.
She heard Lena’s footsteps leave the room. She opened her eyes and glanced at the window, thinking about Luna Rosie. She must still be there in the garden doing the chores assigned to her.
Ugh, she hates feeling guilty as if she does not deserve to live this kind of life. But this has been her deepest wish to become beautiful, rich and loved by Alpha Gideon the guy she secretly loved all these years and now that she finally has it all she’s still not fully happy.
Then her thoughts drifted to Sebastian. She remembered one thing he said. It was all a mistake, a glitch. Does that mean the soul switch was never meant to happen in the first place?
Whatever Sebastian did, he was the one making a mistake!
For her it's a beautiful mistake because all her dreams have come true.
She may sound selfish, but now is the only time she will have a chance to be happy and live the life she can only dream of.
How to feel happy without feeling guilty?
She’s not willing to give up her current life despite feeling guilty, unless…someone powerful will intervene in her destiny and correct the mistake that Sebastian has made. That guy is grumpy, irritable and always busy. She needed a kind helper.
One thing is clear, Sebastian doesn't have the power to correct the mistake he has done to her and Luna Rosie. He can only transfer her soul to another dying individual if she agrees and cooperates willingly.
In short she has the power to hold on to her current life for as long as she can!
She glanced at the window. “Sebastian, are you there? Visit me now! I have something to ask you,” she said in a low voice. She wanted to shout his name but was afraid other people might hear her.
She didn't expect Sebastian to arrive, so she closed her eyes.
But she was surprised, because time suddenly froze and she already knew why it was happening. He’s here!
“What do you want?” Sebastian’s voice echoed in the room announcing his arrival.
She sat upright and looked at him. “Shh, don’t be too loud, they will hear you.”
“Even if I shout at the top of my lungs no one can hear me. Only you can hear me. So let’s get down to business. Are you now willing to be transferred into another body?” he asked.
“No!” She answered immediately.
“Then why did you call me? You are wasting my time!” He glared at her.
Her brows knitted in confusion. “Why are you always grumpy and irritable towards me?”
“Because it’s troublesome dealing with you, you can't make up your mind what you really want for yourself,” he responded in disdain.
“But the life I have now is what I truly want for myself! I’m loving it now and I want to enjoy this life to the fullest, so stop forcing me to leave this body!” Mira said defiantly.
He rolled his eyes. “Fine, whatever you say…”
Mira took a deep breath. “Um, Sebastian, can you tell me how to retrieve Luna Rosie's memories? I occupied her body but I didn't have access to her memories. Why? I want to remember everything in her life, what are her thoughts and all. You've understood what I’m trying to tell you right?”
Sebastian smirked. “Find it yourself!”
Mira groaned in dismay, disappointed at his answer. “I need your help because I can’t find her memories.”
“I will not help you. You are on your own because you are stubborn. You refused to obey me,” he said. His eyes turned a deep blue.
She rose from the bed and stood in front of him looking deeply into his eyes. She could feel his hatred reaching her heart, squeezing it painfully. “Sebastian, why do you hate me so?” she asked softly. Her hands moved on their own accord and she grabbed both his hands.
Sebastian flinched at her touch. He was caught off guard by her bold behavior. The way she acted was as if she knew him, as if she had already remembered who he was in her life. “Don’t touch me!” He hissed in her face.
Mira was shocked by the intensity of his hatred for her. His strange behaviour surprised her. What’s going on? What is wrong with him? Why is he acting this way toward her?
She takes a deep breath. “You hate me so much that I can see it in your eyes. Can you explain why? Are we enemies to each other in my previous life?" she asked, wanting to know the reason why he hated her so much.
