Chapter 98: Emily Is Indeed Amazing

Chapter 98: Emily Is Indeed Amazing

Emily paused halfway through changing clothes and went to open the door.

Seeing an unfamiliar face, she asked curiously, "Who are you? What do you want?"

"Hey, our boss just announced some new race rules. Wondering if you're interested?" the person explained respectfully.

Emily responded calmly, though puzzled. "Let's hear it. Why'd you come to me? Just a coincidence, or do you know I'm a racer? Do you know I gave Byron some tips?"

"Well, our boss mentioned a skilled racer is here today, so the prize money's been bumped up. Winner gets twenty million bucks. We're just informing everyone."

Emily's eyes lit up at the mention of "twenty million dollars." So, it wasn't just about her; anyone interested could join.

"A race, huh? What about the car?"

"We can provide one if needed. Want to sign up and have us supply a car?"

Suppressing her doubts, Emily considered it. Racers usually know their own car's performance best, but she didn't have her car here. She thought of Byron's car, which she had just given some pointers on, but dismissed the idea.

"Have you told others already? How many participants are there? When does it start?"

The staff member answered truthfully, "In half an hour."

That should be enough time!

Emily nodded. "Alright, no need for a car. Do I need to register my identity to sign up? Can someone else sign up for me?"

She didn't want to reveal her QS identity yet.

For some reason, the staff member was very accommodating, almost anticipating her concerns and providing satisfactory answers.

After the staff left, Emily called Knox. She owed him so many favors that she didn't mind asking for another one.

Knox's eyes lit up when he saw Emily's call. "Emily, I thought you'd forgotten about me."

"Don't worry, I haven't forgotten that dinner I owe you. I'll treat you to two dinners if needed. But right now, I need another favor," Emily said straightforwardly.

Anyone else might have felt intimidated by Knox's presence, but not Emily. This was one of the reasons Knox admired her.

"Emily, you really don't hold back! What do you need?"

"I need a race car, ready in half an hour."

Emily spoke about needing a car as casually as if she were asking for a glass of water or a small toy.

"Getting you a car is no problem, but what race are you entering?" Knox was curious. Emily, a racer?

Emily kept surprising him. His once dull life seemed to become more exciting because of her.

"There's a race in the north part of town today. I'll send you the address. It starts in half an hour, with a prize of twenty million dollars. I'm entering."

Since she was asking him for a car, Emily knew her identity wouldn't be a secret to him.

But she trusted Knox.

Knox's eyes lit up. "Alright, I'll get it sorted."

He didn't mention that he planned to show up and support her, wanting to surprise her.

After hanging up with Knox, Emily called Byron.

"Ms. Johnson!"

Byron quickly came over.

"I'm entering the race in a bit. Sign me up under the name QS," Emily said calmly.

"Wait, what? QS? You mean you’re QS? I knew you were amazing, but I didn’t realize you were this amazing!" Byron exclaimed.

As a racing enthusiast, everyone in the circle knew about the thrilling race a year ago.

Emily was only about eighteen then.

QS had burst onto the scene, won the race, and then vanished. Everyone had been looking for QS, but no one thought to look for an eighteen-year-old girl.

No wonder they couldn't find her.

Besides YJ, the king of racing, QS was someone Byron admired.

Now that QS was Emily, he was so excited he almost lost his mind, making so much noise that Emily's ears hurt.

She smacked Byron on the head. "Alright, calm down. Go sign me up. Also, get me a helmet that covers my face."

She didn’t want to reveal her identity yet, so a helmet was necessary.

"Got it, I'll go right now. By the way, Ms. Johnson, what car will you use? You can use mine!"

Byron quickly responded.

"No need, I've already arranged a car. It'll be here soon."

"Okay, Ms. Johnson, wait here. I'll sign you up!"

Byron practically floated away, still in shock over Emily being QS.

With some time to spare, Emily looked at her prize—five percent of Ascend Global Group's shares.

After reviewing the contract, she took a photo and sent it to Isaac.

Isaac hadn’t heard from Emily for a few days and thought she had forgotten about the project. But suddenly, he received a message from her.

When he saw the five percent shares of Ascend Global Group, he wondered why she sent it.

Suppressing his curiosity, he looked further and saw James's signature and Emily's.

Emily quickly sent another message, "I have five percent of Ascend Global Group's shares. I'm busy right now, so please arrange for someone reliable to handle the transfer."

Isaac couldn’t describe his feelings. Emily, a healer, seemed more like a businessperson, acquiring five percent of shares just like that.

"By the way, I'll start working on the project with the Johnson Group tomorrow," Emily added.

"Got it. I'll inform the Johnson Group," Isaac replied, planning to accompany her and see the reaction when they found out Emily was the contact person.

Emily didn’t know Isaac's thoughts.

Soon, she received a call from Knox saying the car had arrived.

Emily quickly went to the entrance to meet them.

Unbeknownst to her, Daniel was tracking her movements.

"Daniel, what are you looking at?"

Charles came over to see.

He was already in his racing suit, ready to check on Daniel, who was supposed to be racing too.

But Daniel hadn’t changed yet and was staring at the screen. Charles’s curiosity got the better of him.

Daniel naturally stood up, blocking Charles’s view.
