Chapter 89 Finding Someone to Impersonate Emily

Chapter 89 Finding Someone to Impersonate Emily

"Everything sorted?" Daniel asked, his voice soft as he approached Emily after the others had left.

Emily wasn’t surprised by the outcome, but watching James leave so decisively with Bianca in his arms left her feeling a bit hollow. When she looked up and saw the deep concern in Daniel's eyes, she felt a sudden sense of relief.

She smiled warmly, "Yeah, it's all sorted. Thanks for being so patient, Mr. Smith. Let's head back."

Daniel didn’t push for more details. Since she said it was handled, he wasn't going to dig any deeper.

Emily thought Daniel wasn’t as cold and unfeeling as the rumors suggested. He wasn’t overly domineering either. Like she had told James, if he wanted to find out who the highly skilled doctor was, he could. As the organizer of the competition, it would be easy for him. And for Daniel, it would be even easier.

Emily didn’t go out of her way to hide her identity. Even so, he hadn’t pried, showing a level of respect.

Back at her place, Emily started working on her designs for the upcoming contest. She furrowed her brow, trying to decide what to draw. Inspiration struck quickly, and she captured it deftly on paper. Soon, a stunning design emerged.

As she finished and was about to put down her pen, she thought of her past life. She used to jot down all her inspirations in a notebook. When she moved out of the Johnson Villa in a hurry, she must have left that notebook in her old studio.

She heard that Bianca was also entering the design competition. With Bianca's skills, she had no chance of winning unless...

Emily's eyes darkened as she guessed Bianca's likely course of action.

With a sly smile, Emily picked up her pen again and started sketching on a new sheet of paper, recalling the unused ideas from her old notebook. Soon, she had two more designs completed. She looked at them with mixed emotions—satisfaction and a hint of regret—before they transformed into a confident glow.

She uploaded the designs to a familiar yet distant email address. As she was about to take a break, she received a reply almost immediately, as if the sender had been waiting desperately.

[L: Q, I thought I'd never see your work again. It's fantastic to receive your designs. With your talent, how could you just retire like that?]

[L: Q, does this mean you're coming back?]

Emily didn’t expect such enthusiasm from L after all this time. L was a pure artist, someone Emily deeply respected despite her own talents.

She quickly replied, knowing L wouldn’t sleep well otherwise.

[Q: Yeah, I'm making a comeback. But I have some conditions.]

[L: Name them.]

[Q: I want you to release new products based on these designs and announce my return widely.]

Lon Ramos felt a surge of tension. Emily must be in some kind of trouble to be so urgent. He was determined to help her, ensuring her return would be celebrated worldwide.

[L: Q, don't worry. I'll make sure the whole world knows you're back. This will be a celebration for our industry.]

Emily thanked Lon. She stood by the window, her gaze distant.

Bianca, be ready for what's coming.

Meanwhile, Bianca was lying in a hospital bed, insisting on being discharged. A sudden sense of dread washed over her, as if something bad was about to happen.

"Bianca, you need a proper checkup," James urged gently. "You've been fainting too often. Don't take risks with your health. Please, listen to me."

Bianca shook her head. "James, but Chase is waiting. It's my fault for hesitating because of my pride. For Chase's sake, I should have begged Emily if I had to. We don't even know who that amazing doctor is. If we did, we wouldn't have suspected Emily in the first place."

Her words sparked an idea in James. He gripped Bianca's shoulders. "Bianca, you're right. If no one knows who the amazing doctor is, it doesn't have to be Emily. If that newcomer could help Chase's friend, there must be an even better doctor out there. We can find that doctor and have them teach you. Then you can treat Chase's friend yourself. What do you think?"

This was exactly what Bianca had hoped for. But to maintain her facade of innocence, she pretended to hesitate.

"James, I'm so touched you'd go to such lengths for me. Emily doesn't appreciate you. But what if she finds out and causes trouble? I don't want you to get involved."

James's heart softened. He gently stroked her hair. "Don't worry. No one will believe Emily without proof. Besides, with me here, no one will question it. Emily needs to realize she can't do anything without me. She'll come back and apologize eventually."

Bianca's nails dug into her palms. Even now, James still thought about reconciling with Emily. Why did Emily deserve this?

She looked up at James, hiding her dark thoughts behind tearful eyes. "James, you're the best. I'll do as you say."

Soon, James found the perfect mentor for Bianca. News quickly spread that Bianca had learned how to treat Aurora's illness. Chase, unable to contain his excitement, called Emily to boast. "Emily, Bianca's teacher is that amazing doctor. She's learned how to treat Aurora. Unlike you, who never did anything for the Johnson family. Don't ever call yourself my sister again."
