Chapter 83: Wrong Injection! Harmful?
"Alright, let's get Aurora checked out, quick!"
Chase gently helped Aurora sit down and urged Bianca to start the diagnosis.
He noticed Emily smiling and frowned, "Seriously? How can you be a judge like this? Can't you see she's in pain? And you're over there smiling!"
Emily's expression turned icy.
Caught in the crossfire.
He really has a lot to say. If she wants to laugh, she will.
Emily didn't hold back, "What does my laughing have to do with you? If you want my job, go ahead, but you'll regret it."
"Oh, so now you're cursing people? Some judge you are. Bianca, I trust you, go ahead and treat her!"
Chase, feeling provoked, lost any hesitation and firmly told Bianca to proceed.
Bianca nodded.
Emily turned to James, "Since you're in charge, how do we score this if we switch people?"
James was a bit disappointed that Emily was still focused on the scores at this moment, "We'll score based on the new person. Treating patients is always random anyway!"
Emily knew Aurora's condition.
She also knew Bianca's medical skills. She wasn't in a rush and said calmly, "I'm afraid things might not go as you wish."
James thought Emily was just being contrary and didn't understand her true meaning.
Because of Chase's commotion, a lot of people gathered around to watch.
After diagnosing Aurora, Bianca gave her diagnosis and even shot a challenging look at Emily, as if to say, "See, I can handle this."
Emily couldn't help but scoff internally at the diagnosis.
This level of skill, she had really overestimated her.
She had expected problems only at the treatment stage, but it turned out Bianca was already making mistakes at the diagnosis stage.
She didn't say anything and just watched Bianca proceed with the treatment.
"Bianca, since you've diagnosed it, does that mean you can treat it?" Chase, seeing Bianca's confidence, was overjoyed and asked eagerly.
Bianca nodded, "I'll start with acupuncture and prescribe some medication. It should relieve her symptoms quickly."
Bianca then took out her silver needles.
She had seen Emily use them once and thought Emily only knew the basics. Determined not to be outdone, she had recently taken lessons specifically for this moment.
Just as Bianca was about to insert the needles.
Aurora's body started to tremble.
Chase thought she was afraid of the long needles and comforted her, "Aurora, don't be scared!"
He turned to Bianca and added, "Bianca, Aurora is afraid of needles, please be gentle."
Bianca nodded, "Don't worry, Chase, Aurora will feel better soon."
She began inserting the needles one by one.
As she was about to insert the third needle, Emily frowned, considering whether to speak up.
Wren spoke first, "Stop, Bianca, that needle is wrong; you can't continue!"
Bianca frowned, clearly annoyed. She remembered this person laughing and chatting with Emily earlier. They were both annoying.
She didn't immediately argue with Wren but looked at James, "James, isn't this a competition? If she interferes with my treatment, how will the scoring work?"
James gave Wren a stern look, reminding her, "Do not interfere with others' treatments."
Wren met James' warning gaze and reluctantly stayed silent.
Emily gave Wren a reassuring look, silently saying: You're right!
Wren calmed down, understanding Emily's intention.
If Bianca's acupuncture was wrong, the patient would suffer, and they might need Emily's help later.
Wren stayed quiet but kept a close eye on Bianca's treatment.
As Bianca inserted another needle, Chase grew nervous, "Aurora, how do you feel?"
Aurora felt for a moment, "It seems a bit better..."
But before she could finish, her body started trembling violently, and she coughed up blood.
Chase's smile faded instantly, his face turning pale with shock, "Aurora, what's happening?"
Aurora couldn't respond, her body shaking even more.
Chase yelled at Bianca, "Bianca, what's going on? You said you could treat her! Do something!"
Bianca was equally shocked, "I... I don't know! I did exactly what my teacher taught me. How could it be wrong?"
The onlookers were also taken aback.
One brave soul, knowledgeable in medicine, couldn't help but say, "The needle was inserted incorrectly! Didn't that other contestant say so? That needle would only worsen the condition."
He was referring to Wren.
As more people chimed in, it became clear that Aurora's condition had worsened.
Bianca heard this and her face turned pale. She had no idea how to fix it.
She grabbed James' arm, "James, I did everything my teacher taught me. What do I do now?"
Aurora's condition looked critical. If Bianca's treatment failed, it would ruin her reputation, and she might even face legal consequences.
Chase was furious, "You said you were confident! Do something! Asking James, who knows nothing about medicine, is useless!"
Chase was frantic, almost losing control.
Suddenly, he thought of something and urgently turned to Wren, pulling her over, "You said Bianca's needle was wrong, right? Then you must know how to treat this. Hurry!"
Wren clenched her fists but didn't move, instead looking at Emily.
Emily gave her a reassuring look.
Aurora's condition was critical but still manageable.
Emily didn't want Wren to rush because Bianca might twist the situation, claiming her method was right but just hadn't taken effect yet.
James noticed the exchange between Emily and Wren.
He frowned and said to Wren, "This is a matter of life and death. Please treat her."
"Wait!"
Emily interrupted, "How will the scores be calculated? If Wren treats her successfully, who gets the credit?"
Bianca's expression froze.
James' face darkened, "At a time like this, you're thinking about scores? Treating the patient is the priority."
Emily met his gaze fearlessly, "I warned you earlier, but you didn't consider the patient's life then! If Wren takes over, as long as the patient follows her instructions, she can stabilize the condition. However, the credit will go to Wren. As for Bianca..."
She looked at Bianca, "I think she should get negative points!"
"Emily, even if you don't like me, you shouldn't target me so blatantly. What did I do to you..."
Bianca was desperate, almost crying.
Emily made a shushing gesture, "Be quiet. If you delay any longer, the patient's condition will be your fault!"
