Chapter 36: No Tears Until Seeing the Coffin

Chapter 36: No Tears Until Seeing the Coffin

"Shit..." Ronnie muttered, his face flushed with anger.

He managed to calm himself when he noticed Bianca was still there.

Bianca was hoping for a showdown between Emily and Ronnie.

After all, Ronnie had a lot of admirers. And being Glenn's favorite student, she knew Glenn was fiercely protective. Pissing off Ronnie was like pissing off Glenn.

"Ronnie, are you okay? I'm so sorry, this is all my fault. If you're mad, blame me!" Bianca anxiously tried to check where he had been hit.

She reached out to touch Ronnie's face but quickly pulled back, realizing it was inappropriate, and hastily apologized.

Ronnie's anger faded instantly because of Bianca's words.

He sighed softly, "It's not your fault. How could I ever blame you?"

Bianca's face lit up with gratitude.

With tears in her eyes, she turned to Emily, "Emily, how could you just hit someone like that? If you're angry, take it out on me. Ronnie was only trying to help me... I'm sorry. I didn't know you hated me so much that you would lash out at those around me."

Emily sneered coldly, "You're right. You're the real culprit. So, you're admitting that the posts about me at school were your doing, through Ronnie, right?"

A flash of panic crossed Bianca's eyes.

But then she started crying, "What posts? What does this have to do with Ronnie? Are you really going to pin all these baseless accusations on him?"

Emily's gaze was icy as she suddenly pulled out a few photos and threw them, "Still denying it?"

"Watch out!"

Ronnie thought Emily was going to hit Bianca and rushed to shield her.

The photos grazed Ronnie's face, leaving a long scratch.

"Ronnie, your face!" Bianca gasped in shock.

"Emily, what are you doing? Attacking people at school?" Lavinia saw the injury on Ronnie's face and panicked.

Ronnie had gotten hurt under her watch. If he returned to the computer science department with that face, Glenn would definitely be furious with her.

Emily's cold eyes were like winter frost as she looked at Lavinia, "I respect you as a teacher, which is why I've held back. Don't push it. Don't tell me you're blind and can't see that he ran into the photos himself."

Lavinia was left feeling very embarrassed by Emily's words.

"You, you, you..." She pointed at Emily's face, her eyes filled with venom, "Today, I'm going to teach you how to respect your elders!"

She raised her hand to slap Emily.

Bianca's pupils shrank, but a glint of excitement flashed in her eyes.

Ronnie's face remained indifferent, showing no sympathy.

Only Lily picked up the photos from the ground and quietly looked at them.

The more she looked, the more her brows furrowed, and her expression kept changing.

But everyone else was too caught up in their own thoughts to notice.

"Stop! Let's see who dares to bully my student." A commanding voice came from the doorway.

Kurt entered, followed by two others.

"Mr. Owens!"

Lavinia wasn't very familiar with Kurt, but she couldn't afford not to recognize Bobby.

Her attention immediately focused on Bobby behind Kurt.

Lavinia quickly lowered her hand, her voice trembling as she greeted them.

"Were you just about to hit my student?" Kurt asked coldly, glaring at Lavinia.

Emily was speechless. She hadn't even joined the physics department yet, and now she was being called his student?

Kurt winked and smiled at Emily, adding, "From the moment you gave me those papers and data projects, you were."

Lavinia finally took a good look at Kurt, and her mind raced as she realized who he was. Combining his words with Emily's call, Lavinia was shocked. Emily had actually managed to bring Kurt from the physics department. But wasn't Kurt supposed to be eccentric, only caring about research and genius students? How did he take an interest in Emily?

"Kurt, you misunderstood. Emily was being very unruly. Are you really going to let her transfer to your department?" Lavinia quickly suppressed her doubts and explained, "Emily has poor character. I don't know what she did to get your approval, but I urge you to reconsider."

Kurt frowned, not immediately questioning Emily. Instead, he defended her, "Are you saying I have poor judgment? I find Emily to be intelligent and focused, nothing like what you're describing. Are you all bullying her?"

Bianca knew Kurt too. Hearing his and Emily's words, she was horrified. How could Emily possibly transfer to the physics department? She might be a bit clever, but how could she have caught Kurt's eye? Bianca felt something slipping out of her control, making her anxious.

She quickly stepped forward to explain, "Mr. Lowe, you misunderstood. No one is bullying Emily. We're all concerned for her, trying to convince her not to skip classes and stay out all night. But she seems to reject our advice, which led to some conflicts."

She skillfully deflected the blame onto Emily.

Ronnie chimed in, "Mr. Lowe, Emily is malicious. She even schemes against her own sister. Those experiments and data are crucial. I think you shouldn't accept such a student."

To strengthen his argument, he added, "There are posts on the school forum about how malicious she is..."

"Ronnie, stop," Lavinia quickly intervened, knowing Emily had evidence. Then she told Kurt, "You heard him. It's not that I'm being hard on her. It's her own behavior. Everyone has a bad impression of her, so it must be her problem."

Kurt frowned, deep in thought.

Emily clenched her fists but didn't speak immediately. She was observing Kurt's reaction. Sure enough, he didn't disappoint her. He didn't doubt her right away but asked, "What do you have to say?"

"If I tell the truth, will you stand up for me?" Emily asked deliberately.

Kurt's expression relaxed. He knew then that she must be innocent; otherwise, she wouldn't have said that. He smiled and turned to Bobby, "With Mr. Owens here, if you're right, you'll get justice. Right, Bobby?"

Few knew that Bobby was actually his nephew. Of course, even if Bobby wasn't his nephew, with all the patents and academic achievements Kurt held, Bobby would still support him.

Bobby, whether he liked it or not, had to respond authoritatively, "Go ahead and speak. I won't show favoritism."
