Chapter 35: I'm Fighting You
"Lily, can you believe Emily actually showed up at school today? I thought after skipping for two days, she'd be too scared to come back," Lily scoffed, shaking Bianca's shoulder.
Bianca frowned, looking worried. "Lily, don't talk about Emily like that. Maybe she realized her mistake and found the courage to come back. I'm relieved. She's been having issues with our family and hasn't been home or reachable. I've been really worried about her."
Lily sighed. "Bianca, she's treated you so badly, yet you're still so kind and concerned about her!"
"She's my sister. Blood ties can't be severed," Bianca said with a resigned smile.
"But she doesn't deserve it. I didn't get to finish earlier—she may have come back to school, but the teacher called her straight to the office. I heard she's arguing with the teacher. Honestly, trash like her should be sent to the dump, not a school. Being in the same school as her lowers our standards!"
Lily fumed.
Bianca's eyes flashed. "How could she do that? I need to go check on her before she says something she can't take back."
Without waiting for Lily's response, Bianca hurried towards the teacher's office.
"Bianca, wait for me!" Lily called out, realizing she needed to catch up. She knew how unreasonable Emily could be and didn't want Bianca, who was kind but not in the best health, to get upset.
She decided to find Ronnie. Ronnie liked Bianca and would definitely help if he knew Bianca was being mistreated.
Lily changed direction and ran towards the boys' dormitory.
Taking advantage of Lily's absence, Bianca dialed a number with a sly smile. After a brief conversation, she hung up and rushed to the teacher's office. Her anxious demeanor drew a lot of attention and speculation. Some people even followed her discreetly.
"Teacher, I'm here to apologize on Emily's behalf. If she said anything inappropriate, please forgive her for being young and immature," Bianca said as she entered the tense room, feeling secretly pleased.
She hurried to Emily, pulling her hand. "Emily, this is our teacher. You should respect them and not argue. Apologize quickly."
Emily was surprised to see Bianca, who didn't even ask about the situation before blaming her. Despite her dislike for Bianca, she couldn't believe Bianca dared to touch her.
Emily felt disgusted and instinctively shook off Bianca's hand, causing Bianca to fall weakly to the ground.
"Bianca!" Ronnie, who had rushed over after hearing from Lily that Emily was bullying Bianca, saw Emily push Bianca down. He quickly helped Bianca up, worried and tender.
"Bianca, are you okay?" Ronnie asked, his voice full of concern.
Bianca shook her head. "Ronnie, I'm fine. It's not Emily's fault."
Ronnie felt even more protective of Bianca, who was still defending Emily. "Bianca, you're too kind. Some people don't deserve it. Look at her—does she show any gratitude or remorse?"
"Bianca, kindness should have some edge!" Ronnie said softly but firmly. His gentle demeanor turned fierce as he looked at Emily.
"Emily, why can't you be more like Bianca? Even a fraction of her goodness would prevent you from doing such vile things. It's hard to believe you're sisters. You're so malicious. Apologize to Bianca right now."
Emily stared at Ronnie. "You're Ronnie?"
He was one of Bianca's admirers. Even after Bianca married James in her previous life, many couldn't forget her. Emily had heard that several men got drunk on Bianca's wedding night, all murmuring her name.
Ronnie knew his appeal. Emily's unwavering gaze made him feel disgusted. He didn't like someone as vile as Emily.
"Yeah, that's me. So what? You can't compare to Bianca at all. Normally, I wouldn't even bother with you," Ronnie said arrogantly.
He was one of Bianca's admirers but wasn't considered due to his average family background. In their social circle, he was at the bottom. His only notable trait was his good looks and some skill in computers, though just a bit.
Emily wasn't impressed. "I wasn't looking for you, but since you're here, perfect!" Emily said coolly.
Ronnie frowned, and Bianca felt confused. What did Emily mean?
Lily couldn't help but scoff. "Emily, are you jealous of how Ronnie treats Bianca? Did you secretly look him up, hoping to get to know him? Trash like you isn't worth Ronnie's attention."
Emily's gaze silenced Lily. "Playing with Bianca too long has made you stupid," Emily mocked.
As Lily realized she'd been insulted and prepared to retort, Emily addressed the teacher, "Ms. Lavinia, while my teacher isn't here yet, the person responsible is here. You can still make a decision."
"Emily, how can you speak to Ms. Lavinia like that? It sounds like a threat. Who have you been hanging out with lately? Your words are always loaded. Even if you're mad at me, I have to say something," Bianca scolded, feigning urgency.
She quickly apologized to Ms. Lavinia. "Ms. Lavinia, Emily's been having family issues and hasn't been home. She's probably been misled by bad influences. Please don't hold it against her. I'll make sure she changes."
Despite everything, Bianca hadn't given up on Emily, appearing pure and kind to everyone.
Ronnie looked at Bianca with admiration before turning to Emily. "Emily, you're so vile. No shame, learning from street thugs. If it weren't for Bianca, you'd have been reported and expelled. Thank her and promise to obey her."
Ronnie's words were punctuated by a sudden, powerful slap across his face, shocking everyone.
"You dare hit me!" Ronnie seethed, humiliated.
Emily replied, "I hit you! You spread lies and rumors. Enough with your nonsense."
