Chapter 25 If She Treats It, Then It's Fine

Chapter 25 If She Treats It, Then It's Fine

"Where's the doctor on duty? This person just fainted, we shouldn't move her. What if it makes things worse?"

"Looking at the woman who fainted on the pharmacy floor, she probably knew she wasn't feeling well. She doesn't look that old... I hope it's not something serious."

Emily's medical instincts kicked in as soon as she heard there was a patient. She instinctively pushed her way through the crowd.

"Excuse me, I'm a doctor!"

At her shout, people instinctively made way for her.

Emily quickly knelt down to examine the patient.

As soon as she saw the woman, she recognized her.

It was her aunt.

In her previous life, Emily knew she wasn't favored in the Johnson family, and most relatives avoided her. But this aunt, despite her own hardships, always tried to help Emily when she first returned to the Johnson family. Even when she had no money, she found ways to give Emily some cash.

However, this kind-hearted aunt was bullied by her husband's family. Her husband even had an affair. The mistress schemed to marry her son, and when he refused, he was falsely accused of rape and sent to prison. Her aunt went everywhere begging for help, and her daughter was kidnapped by the mistress.

Her aunt went mad searching for her daughter and died in a car accident.

In her previous life, around this time, her aunt had come to the Johnsons for help. Emily didn't know the details. She had come home just as her aunt was leaving. When she asked, her aunt simply shook her head and said it was nothing. Emily gave her what little money she had. The next thing she heard was the news of her aunt's death.

Emily checked her aunt's condition. Low blood sugar.

She quickly administered two injections without anyone noticing.

Her aunt should wake up soon.

The only tricky part was her aunt's injuries.

"Someone help move her to the back room and give her some glucose. It's a case of low blood sugar!" Emily called out to the pharmacy staff.

Hearing it was low blood sugar, the staff, knowing Emily, quickly moved her aunt to the back.

The onlookers, seeing the patient being taken to the back, began to question Emily's abilities.

"Are you sure it’s just low blood sugar? She looked pretty bad. Don't make things worse by trying to help."

"Yeah, you don't look old enough to have any real medical skills. Just because you know a few remedies for colds and fevers doesn't mean you're a doctor!"

"Emily, what are you doing here?"

Just as people were questioning Emily, a group of girls walked in. Among them was Bianca, surrounded as usual.

The one speaking was Lily, who was always by Bianca's side.

Bianca also heard the murmurs but didn't realize they were about Emily.

Her eyes flashed, and she quickly spoke up, "Emily, I know you mean well, but this is reckless. We should call an ambulance. You only know a bit about medicine and don't have a medical license. How can you treat someone?"

"You don't have a medical license and you're treating people? That's dangerous. We should call the police on people like you who pretend to know what they're doing."

Lily took out her phone to call the police.

People who were already skeptical of Emily began to criticize her.

"This is outrageous. She doesn't care about human life at all."

"Yeah, call 911 right away."

"Young lady, you have no sense of responsibility. You just want to show off, but you should know your limits."

Bianca quickly added, "Everyone, calm down. Emily didn't mean any harm. She's just young and didn't think it through. I've already called 911, and I know a bit about medicine too. I'm about to compete in a medical competition in a few days. Let me check on the patient and see if I can help."

People were skeptical of Bianca's medical skills too, given she wasn't much older than Emily. But hearing about the competition, they thought she might be more competent.

The criticism lessened.

Lily and Bianca made their way to the back room.

The crowd wanted to follow, but Emily blocked their way.

Bianca clearly wanted to set her up. Even if her aunt was fine, Bianca would likely tarnish her reputation.

"Emily, this is about someone's life. Even if you're mad at me, can't you put personal grudges aside?" Bianca said urgently.

Lily tried to push Emily aside, "Emily, move! Bianca is trying to help you. If someone dies because of you, you can't afford to pay for it with your life!"

"I thought this girl was kind-hearted at first, but now it seems like she just wants attention. Maybe there are cameras around?"

"Young lady, this is serious. If you don't move, you'll be legally responsible if something happens."

"Emily, move!" Bianca stomped her foot impatiently.

"Wait! You're only hearing their side of the story. You can see we don't get along. How can you be sure they're telling the truth?" Emily said, her eyes sweeping over Bianca and Lily with scorn.

"Emily, you recently sent someone to the hospital just because they were close to me. Now you're ignoring a patient to spite me?" Bianca gritted her teeth, trying to smear Emily.

The crowd's attitude shifted upon hearing this.

Seeing the change, Bianca said, "For the patient's sake, I can't let this slide. Please help move her so I can check on the patient."

Others, influenced by Bianca, began to push Emily aside.

"What's the commotion? Dr. Ryan is here."

People in the area knew the pharmacy had a skilled doctor. He was a retired doctor from Evergreen Hospital, and even people from farther away came to see him.

Hearing Floyd had arrived, everyone stopped.

Bianca also knew Dr. Ryan. She had come here hoping to impress him with her medical skills.

She quickly approached, "Dr. Ryan, I'm Bianca from Celestial University."

She quickly explained the situation, "I'm worried Emily is being reckless. A person's life is at stake. Now that you're here, could you check on the patient?"

Everyone agreed with Bianca, thinking she was genuinely concerned.

Floyd, hearing Bianca, thought someone was indeed being reckless.

He snorted, "This is nonsense! Are you a Johnson?"

Bianca didn't understand why Floyd used "also," but she thought he remembered her name.

"Yes, Dr. Ryan, I'm Bianca!" She suppressed her excitement and introduced herself.

Floyd nodded and was about to check on the patient.

"Dr. Ryan!" Emily greeted him calmly as she walked towards the back room.

Floyd was stunned.

He was about to say Emily's name but stopped under her gaze. Instead, he asked, "Did you treat the patient?"

"Dr. Ryan, it was her. She just knows a bit about medicine and dared to treat someone without a license. Isn't that reckless?" Lily said.

Floyd glared coldly at Lily.

Then he looked at Emily and smiled, "If you treated her, then I don't need to check. The patient is fine!"

Everyone was stunned.

The air seemed to freeze.

Bianca's smile stiffened, and she blurted out, "Dr. Ryan, are you sure?"
