Chapter 216 If He Is with the Villains, She Will Uphold Justice Even Against Her Own Kin

Chapter 216 If He Is with the Villains, She Will Uphold Justice Even Against Her Own Kin

"Haha, if Finnegan says so, I guess I gotta make an exception for you!"

Orville chuckled, waving his hand to signal his men to clear the way. "Listen, lady, if you want your friends to live, you stay here and let them go."

Emily wasn't sure if Daniel and Orville were on the same team. But if she stayed, she'd likely buy some time before Daniel made a move, giving her a chance to escape later. Her friends needed to get out first; otherwise, they might not make it.

"Fine!" Emily said without hesitation.

Orville gave Emily an approving look, then smirked at Daniel. "Finnegan, you sure know how to pick 'em. This one's got guts."

Emily signaled to her friends, "Go now!"

Leopard and the others caught on quick and darted through the opening without delay.

As soon as they were gone, Orville subtly signaled his men.

He turned to Emily with a grin. "Alright, your friends are out. Be smart and come here. Resist, and you'll regret it."

His grin turned menacing.

Daniel hated the way Orville looked at Emily. He couldn't bring himself to be harsh with her; why should Orville get to? A flash of anger crossed his face.

Orville's men stared Emily down.

"Show some respect; don't scare her," Daniel said quietly.

Orville masked his impatience with a smile. "You're right."

He softened his tone. "Lady, you'd better come over here. You might even have a good life with this gentleman. Consider yourself lucky."

Orville figured Emily got the message. Women brought here usually faced far worse than any rumor could capture.

Emily dropped the knife she was holding and slowly walked towards Orville and Daniel.

No one noticed the determined glint in her eye or the silver needles hidden in her fingers. She was waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

As she got closer, Daniel suddenly reached out and pulled her to his side, impatiently.

Orville couldn't help but smirk. In such a hurry? He figured it was good; men easily swayed by beauty were easier to control and more open to cooperation.

Emily shot Daniel a cold glare as he pulled her close. Daniel didn't like the way she looked at him, knowing she misunderstood his intentions. His eyes darkened, but he stayed silent.

"Now, I see you really like this woman, Finnegan. About the price..." Orville said with a knowing smile.

Daniel nodded. "Let's discuss inside."

"Of course," Orville agreed without hesitation.

Emily's eyes narrowed. She was now close enough to Orville to make her move.

Just as she prepared to strike, Daniel grabbed her hand and gave her a meaningful look.

Emily was taken aback. Maybe Daniel wasn't on Orville's side after all.

While she hesitated, they entered the building.

The situation shifted quickly. Suddenly, Daniel had a gun pressed to Orville's head.

York had quietly closed the door behind them, unnoticed by anyone.

Orville's men drew their guns, squaring off against Daniel's crew.

"Finnegan, what the hell are you doing?" Orville asked, keeping his cool despite the danger.

Emily realized Daniel's earlier words were all part of a plan.

"What do you think?" Daniel's demeanor shifted from casual and playful to commanding and fierce.

Orville realized he'd underestimated Daniel. He'd gotten too comfortable.

"Finnegan, this is a bad move. I gave you respect, and you repay me with betrayal. Do you forget whose turf this is? You think you can walk out of here with just a handful of guys?"

Daniel chuckled softly. "Do you know what happened to the last person who tried to threaten me?"

Orville's brow furrowed.

"He died," Daniel said flatly.

Emily felt a wave of relief, realizing Daniel wasn't in cahoots with Orville. Reinforcements would be arriving soon, and she didn't want Daniel to be caught in Orville's downfall.

Orville tried to bluff. "Even if I die, my men won't let you walk out of here. Don't think you can scare me."

Emily laughed, drawing everyone's attention.

"What's so funny?" Orville snapped, irritated.

"Who said we only have a few people?" Emily shot back.

Daniel was taken aback. How did she know he had more men outside? Or was she just confident in his thorough planning?

Emily pulled a flare gun from her backpack and laughed maniacally. "We've got more people than you think. You're done for!"

Orville sneered. "A woman like you can't fool me. I don't believe it."

Emily didn't waste time convincing him. She turned to Daniel. "Reinforcements will be here soon. We need to free the imprisoned girls to prevent more casualties."

When people felt trapped, they might resort to desperate measures.

Daniel nodded and pressed the gun harder against Orville's head. "If you want to live, tell your men to stand down."

"You think I fear death? Go ahead, kill me. But remember, my men will tear you apart the moment you step outside."

Emily scoffed. "That's not your call to make."

Orville thought she was bluffing. But then Emily's silver needle pierced his skin, sending waves of excruciating pain through his body.

Before Orville could scream, another needle silenced him completely.
