Mother

The next day arrived with a mixture of anticipation and dread. Nima knew that she had to discuss her mission with Rody, the only person she could trust in this twisted world. She had to explain everything to him, including the secret of her fire-breathing ability and the lie she had told the pack.

Nima found Rody in his study, engrossed in a pile of papers. He looked up when she entered, his eyes harboring a mix of concern and curiosity.

They exchanged a nod as a silent greeting before Nima spoke in a low voice.

"Rody," she began, "I need to talk to you about something important."

He motioned for her to sit down, his expression serious. "What is it, Nima? And why are you troubling me?"

Nima scoffed at him, "You are supposed to assist me, and not call me trouble!"

"Whatever!" Rody hissed.

Nima took a deep breath before revealing her unique gift. "I can breathe fire, making use of Hell's burning fire," she confessed, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and vulnerability. "It's something I discovered after Dragoni brought me back to life. I can't control it well, but it might be a useful skill for our mission."

Rody's eyes widened with surprise, but he quickly composed himself. "That's...remarkable, Nima. It could indeed be an advantage. But remember to be careful with such powers. They can be a double-edged sword."

Nima nodded, grateful for his understanding. She moved on to the matter of the lie she had told the pack about her confrontation with the Shadow Clan, avoiding any mention of her encounter with Fred.

"I told them that I was cursed by the Shadow Clan, but it's a lie," Nima admitted. "I had to make up a story to fit in and gain their trust, but the truth is I'm here for revenge. Revenge against the person I believe killed my father."

Rody sighed, understanding the gravity of Nima's quest. "Nima, I can't say I approve of deception, but your motives are clear. However, you need to be cautious. Dragoni is growing impatient, and the longer you take, the more dangerous it becomes."

Nima furrowed her brow, troubled by the urgency of the situation. "I'm aware of that, but I'm also struggling with Alex's sisters. They're always around him, and I can't get close enough to learn more about him."

Rody chuckled a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Ah, young love. Don't let it deter you, Nima. You have a goal, and you must remain focused. But don't underestimate the power of patience. Sometimes, things fall into place when you least expect them."

Rody smiled an unexpected reaction that took Nima by surprise. "Ah, yes, those sisters can also be a handful. They adore Alex, and anyone who gets close to him is bound to be tested."

Nima looked at Rody quizzically. "Tested? What do you mean?"

Rody leaned in and whispered, "They like to play tricks and pranks on anyone they see as a threat or a nuisance. But they mean no harm, it's just their way of ensuring that you're worthy of being in this pack."

Nima raised an eyebrow. "Worthy? I don't need to prove myself to anyone. My mission is my top priority."

Rody grinned. "That's the spirit, Nima. But remember, you'll need to find out more secrets about the pack. Now, go and prepare. Dragoni is waiting, and you have limited time."

Nima nodded, taking Rody's words to heart. She knew she couldn't let her emotions cloud her judgment. The mission was everything.

She left, totally forgetting to tell him about the mission Alex told her about.

Later that night, as the moon cast shadows over the pack house, Nima dressed in a sleek black outfit, designed for stealth and secrecy.

And with a soft sigh, she opened her room's window and climbed out.

Unknown to her a dark figure was watching her.

Nima's burning desire to see her mother was like a relentless fire, consuming her from within. It had grown to be an obsession that she could no longer deny. She knew it was a dangerous undertaking to visit her mother, but the pain of not being able to be by her side had become unbearable. Under the concealment of night, she silently slipped away from the pack house, resolute to see her mother, even if it meant remaining in the shadows.

The night was cloaked in darkness, and the moon cast a dim silver glow over the world. Nima stood outside her childhood home, her heart pounding, torn between revealing herself to her grieving mother and the risk it posed. She watched as her mother sat alone, the burden of grief etched across her face.

Tears welled up in Nima's eyes as she observed her mother in silence. She longed to comfort her, to hold her and tell her that she was alive, but the weight of the secret she carried kept her hidden. To reveal herself would risk exposing the truth about her survival, and that would jeopardize her mission, and it might even endanger her mother's life.

As Nima observed, a group of her uncles arrived, their movements unsteady from the effects of alcohol. They were consumed by anger and bitterness, emotions that had festered over the years. The situation had turned unbearable for her mother as they began to hurl accusations at her.

"She's the reason for our misery!" one of her uncles slurred, pointing a trembling finger at her mother. "Her cursed existence brought bad luck upon us, and now she's the reason Nima is dead! She killed her daughter, the same way she killed her husband!"

Nima clenched her fists, her eyes brimming with tears. Her uncles had always harbored resentment and hatred toward her mother. Now, they used Nima's supposed death as an excuse to vent their frustrations, turning their anger into physical abuse.

"You're a jinx, woman! And you need to be eliminated! I even wonder where my brother saw a bad luck like you!" another uncle yelled, his voice filled with malice. He struck her mother with a vicious blow that sent her sprawling to the ground.

Nima's heart broke as she watched the scene unfold, her mother's cries of pain echoing in her ears. It was a heartbreaking display of cruelty and injustice. She had to remain hidden, as revealing herself would risk her mother's safety and expose her mission of revenge.

Hours passed, but it felt like an eternity as she bore witness to the brutality inflicted upon her mother. The uncles, fueled by alcohol and rage, continued their torment. Nima wiped her eyes, her gaze unwavering, her determination strengthening with every passing moment.

One of her uncles even wanted to have his way with her mother, thankfully, her mother was able to protect herself.

A vow etched into her heart, and it burned with the intensity of a thousand flames. She vowed to take revenge on all those who had hurt her family, to make those responsible pay for the suffering her mother endured. At that moment, she vowed to smile at Alex while she brings out his heart!

Revenge! That was all she could think about!

Unbeknownst to Nima, a shadowy figure had followed her from the pack house to her mother's place. Alex's guard, lurking in the darkness, had observed her every move. He knew that her actions might pose a threat to the pack, and his duty was to protect his Alpha's interests.

He brought out his phone and made a silent call, alerting his fellow guards.

As Nima cautiously returned to the pack house, her thoughts swirled with anger and determination. She was wholly unaware that a trap had been set, that an ambush awaited her. Suddenly, the night came alive with the presence of Alex's guards. They surrounded her, leaving her with no means of escape.

One of the guards, his face hidden in the darkness, stepped forward. His voice was cold and unyielding. "We've been tracking your every move, Nima. Your little escapade was a grave mistake."

Before she could even act, they bundled her, and led her through a dark tunnel.

The group of guards, led by the one who had tracked Nima to her mother's house, escorted her through the dark tunnel, each of them tense and alert. They moved in silence for a while, the only sounds being their footsteps echoing through the damp corridor.

As they ventured deeper into the tunnel, Nima couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease. Her captors remained silent, communicating with each other through subtle gestures and the occasional low murmur. Nima had been warned about the loyalty and discipline of Alex's guards, and it was clear that they took their duties seriously.

Finally, the leader of that group, whose name was Ethan, broke the silence. He was a tall, imposing figure, his face concealed by a mask, and his voice carried a commanding tone.

"Make sure she doesn't escape," Ethan instructed his fellow guards in hushed tones. "We can't afford to take any chances."

The guards nodded in agreement, their eyes fixated on Nima, who walked ahead of them with her head held high. She knew that resistance was futile at this point, and her mind was already planning her next move.

Another guard, named Mark, leaned in and whispered to Ethan, "Do we know who she is? What if she's working for the Shadow Clan?"

Ethan shrugged in response. "I don't have all the details, Mark. She's an enigma, that's for sure. All I know is that she was at her mother's house, and that raises suspicions."

As they continued their descent into the tunnel, Nima couldn't help but overhear their conversation. She had to gather as much information as possible to understand her situation better.

A guard named Sarah, who was walking beside Mark, chimed in, "She doesn't look like a threat. I mean, she's just a girl. Are we overreacting?"

Ethan sighed, his voice tinged with frustration. "We can't afford to be complacent, Sarah. Alpha Alex's safety comes first. We need to find out who she is and why she was at that house."

Nima couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. Maybe there was a chance for her to explain her situation, to make them understand that she posed no threat to the pack.

However, as they reached the end of the tunnel, they emerged into a dimly lit chamber. Nima was surprised to find herself surrounded by more guards, each of them armed and ready for action.

Ethan approached an older guard, who appeared to be in charge of this new group, and reported what he had seen. The two engaged in a hushed conversation, their voices low and filled with tension.

Nima observed the exchange, struggling to make out their words. She was desperate to know how her presence was being perceived and whether there was room for negotiation.

Finally, the older guard nodded and turned to address Nima. His tone was firm but not hostile.

"Who are you, and what were you doing at that house?" he demanded.

Nima took a deep breath, realizing that her response would be crucial. "My name is Nima, and I was at that house because... I needed to see something, I didn't mean any harm."

Ethan, who was standing nearby, exchanged a glance with the older guard. It was clear that they were assessing her words and trying to determine the veracity of her story.

"What did you want to see?" the older guard inquired.

Nima hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I was trying to investigate those men!"

The guards exchanged a few more words in hushed tones. Finally, the older guard turned back to Nima, his expression slightly softer.

"Your presence raises concerns, Nima. We'll need to investigate your claims further, but for now, you will be confined. I don't have any charges against you, but Alpha Alexander and his men will handle it!"
