Chapter 330 Chapter 330 She is carrying my grandchild.

Eileen Stevens frowned and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Myrtle Stevens smiled and replied, "Mom wanted to get some fresh air, and since my sister is here, I had to come too. After all, Caelan and I are married, so it's only natural for me to be by his side."
Eileen felt a twinge of discomfort and said, "You’re pregnant and still out running around. Caelan Cooper must really trust you."
Myrtle touched her small belly, her face beaming with happiness. "It's precisely because I'm pregnant that Caelan is worried I might get bored at home, so he brought me out for a walk."
"Well, there's nothing I can do. Now that I have this little one, Caelan is really on edge."
Myrtle practically leaned in to flaunt that she was carrying Caelan Cooper's child, while Eileen found it all rather dull.
She noticed Mrs. Cooper getting out of the back seat of the car and quickly walked over to help her. "Auntie, how have you been lately?"
As soon as Mrs. Cooper saw Eileen, her face lit up with a smile. "Eileen! I'm doing well. It's been a while since we last met. I heard you’re working for a company under the Hawke Family now?"
Eileen nodded politely. "Yes."
Mrs. Cooper remarked, "That's great! A woman should have her own career; it gives you more confidence."
She then cast a glance at Myrtle, who was leaning against Caelan, and huffed softly.
Eileen helped Mrs. Cooper walk forward, with Caelan and Myrtle following behind.
Unable to hold back, Eileen said, "Auntie, Myrtle is pregnant, so it's normal for her not to work. Please don't let that upset you; we don't want her to stress out."
Mrs. Cooper took Eileen's hand and said, "I'm not upset about her not working. Eileen, you don’t understand—she's the one making it hard for Caelan to focus on his work. He comes home with headaches and backaches because he has to comfort her all the time. He can't even go out for a social gathering."
"I know pregnancy can be tough. The Cooper Family has the means to hire help; we have two nannies ready for her. She just needs to take it easy and focus on the baby."
Mrs. Cooper sighed and said, "With such a big company waiting for Caelan to take over, she’s got her eyes glued to that man! Even today, when I asked Caelan to take a walk with me, she had to waddle after us with her belly sticking out!"
Eileen Stevens had always known that Myrtle Stevens was very protective of Caelan Cooper, but she had no idea that after getting pregnant, she would become this clingy.
However, since it was a couple's matter, Eileen didn’t want to say too much. She comforted her, "Maybe it’s just the discomfort of pregnancy. Things will get better after the baby is born."
Mrs. Cooper scoffed, "I don’t think so. Now that she’s married, she’s nowhere near as obedient as when she first came to our home."
"Just yesterday, she insisted on having seafood because she was craving it. I tried to explain that the doctor advised her to eat less of that, but she turned around and cried to Caelan about it. And then Caelan acted like I was the one making things hard for her!"
Mrs. Cooper sighed again, "Oh well, I’ve come to terms with it. She’s carrying my grandchild, so I guess that counts as a contribution to the Cooper family."
Eileen Stevens smiled and said, "As long as you’re okay with it, don’t take it too seriously."
As the two chatted and walked ahead, Myrtle Stevens pulled Caelan Cooper's hand and frowned, "Caelan, what are Mom and Sister talking about? Is there really that much to discuss?"
Caelan glanced at Eileen’s slender figure and smiled, "Oh, just casual talk. Mom has always liked Eileen."
Myrtle Stevens replied unhappily, "Yeah, she’s always liked her and wanted her to be her daughter-in-law. Maybe she’s even complaining about me right now!"
Caelan quickly reassured her, "Don’t think like that! You’re pregnant, and Mom is just worried about you."
Myrtle pouted, "Worried about me? Then why won’t she let me eat seafood? Isn’t that just making things hard for me? Caelan, I knew from the start that the mother-in-law-daughter-in-law relationship would be tough, but you’re not on my side!"
Caelan felt a bit anxious, "Myrtle, you can’t say that about me! I care about you the most. What can I do to prove it?"
Myrtle’s eyes twinkled mischievously as she said, "You go keep Mom company, and let Sister come chat with me. That way, I won’t worry about whether Mom is unhappy with me."
"Alright, alright, whatever you say!"
Caelan Cooper hurried ahead and called out to the two women, "Mom! Let me help you."
Eileen Stevens paused and asked, "Aren't you going to stay with Myrtle?"
Caelan smiled, "The path ahead isn't easy. I'll help Mom get through it, and you can stroll along with Myrtle. We'll wait for you up ahead."
Mrs. Cooper huffed, "At least you remember you have a mother!"
Caelan quickly replied, "Wait for me, Mom!"
As the mother and son walked together, Eileen felt it would be awkward to intrude on their conversation, so she lagged a few steps behind and joined Myrtle Stevens.
Myrtle smiled at her and asked, "What were you chatting about with my mother-in-law?”
Eileen had intended to throw a few jabs at her but didn’t want to make Mrs. Cooper look bad, so she replied dismissively, "Just some casual talk."
Myrtle scoffed, "I doubt that. My mother-in-law has never liked me; she was probably badmouthing me to you."
Eileen quickened her pace, not responding.
Myrtle hurried ahead and shouted, "Eileen, don't act so superior! At the end of the day, I'm Caelan's wife!"
Eileen found it somewhat amusing. "Myrtle, if you're so confident in your relationship with Caelan, why do you follow him around every day?"
"I..."
"So you don't need to come here and brag about your deep love; I really don't care," Eileen said.
Myrtle suddenly asked, "What about the child? Don't you care about the child?"
Eileen Stevens froze. "What are you talking about?"
Myrtle Stevens, walking behind her, rubbed her belly and said, "I mean the child I'm carrying, Caelan's flesh and blood. Once I have my son, Grandpa will transfer the shares to me and the baby. Don't you care about that?"
Eileen let out a cold laugh. "Myrtle, I've said it before: getting the shares isn't the hard part; keeping them is! You can have ten or eight kids for all I care; let's see if I’m afraid of you!"
Myrtle's face turned red with anger as she grabbed Eileen's wrist. "What do you mean ten or eight kids? Do you think I'm a pig?"
"Let go!" Eileen said coldly. "Myrtle, you're pregnant. Don't try to play tricks with me."
Myrtle stared at her defiantly. "I won't! Eileen, I'm using my pregnancy as leverage. Go ahead, try to hit me! Do you dare?"
Eileen shot her a cold glare. Myrtle sneered, "Fool! Just like your mother back in the day, both of you are idiots!"
Eileen's eyes turned icy. "Myrtle, you're asking for trouble!"
Myrtle smiled smugly and repeated slowly, "You are just like your mother! Utterly foolish!"
Eileen raised her hand sharply, but before she could strike Myrtle, Myrtle suddenly released her grip and fell backward!
Eileen instinctively reached out to catch her, but Myrtle's hand was hidden behind her back, dodging Eileen's grasp.
They were on an uphill slope, and as Myrtle fell, she rolled down, tumbling over countless sharp stones!
"Ah!"
