Chapter 295 Interrogation

Chapter 296 The Spencer Family's Illegitimate Child

"Hurry up! Bruce, can you even drive?" Diana kept urging him to speed up from the passenger seat.

Bruce didn't dare answer, because his car was already moving so fast it left afterimages, running through several red lights in a row. One wrong move could cause an accident.

But Diana was beyond caring.

She never imagined that Nicholas's tumor was man-made.

No wonder the Spencer family, with all their resources, hadn't been able to control the tumor all these years. No wonder Nicholas looked healthy but was actually so weak.

It turned out that from the moment he took over the Spencer Corporation, Lachlan had already been "poisoning" Nicholas.

It was just that this poison was invisible and intangible. Without professional equipment, it would be impossible to detect.

When Diana got back to the villa, Mike was still making soup.

She didn't have time for greetings and rushed straight into the kitchen. "Everyone out!"

Mike didn't understand and was about to ask why, but Bruce had already quickly pulled everyone away.

Diana didn't dare delay. She immediately focused and summoned her witch abilities.

Nicholas's personal coffee cup, spoon, and bowl all contained small amounts of radioactive material, but nothing else did.

Diana came out with the utensils and asked in a hoarse voice, "Mike, why have these utensils never been replaced?"

They were clearly worn but still hadn't been replaced. This was too abnormal.

"Because they were birthday gifts from Mr. Nicholas Spencer's parents, Mr. Clarence Spencer and Mrs. Seraphina Spencer. They prepared them before they passed away but never got to give them." Mike sighed. "Actually, they prepared many gifts back then, but fate played tricks on them. Who could have known they would die in a car accident?"

"Many gifts? What else?" Diana asked urgently.

"The pen holder in the study, decorations in the bedroom, and the bed in the bedroom—it has a headboard made of precious rosewood that took months to carve, so..."

Before he could finish, Diana had already rushed upstairs. Sure enough, she found items containing trace amounts of radioactive material in both the bedroom and study.

Especially the headboard—it contained even more radioactive material.

Looking at the energy sphere before her, Diana felt her scalp tingle.

Every day Nicholas came home, except for going to the study, he spent almost all his time in the bedroom.

It was his private domain that others couldn't enter.

These radiation levels seemed small, but accumulated over the years, they would definitely affect his health!

"Damn it!" Diana clenched her fists, then quickly turned and went downstairs. "Mike, seal off the entire villa. Everyone evacuate. Contact the inspection department and have them check every corner of the villa. Find everything containing radioactive material!"

"Radiation?" Mike's eyes widened. Seeing Diana's serious expression, he suddenly thought of something. "You mean the gifts from Mr. Clarence Spencer and Mrs. Seraphina Spencer all have radiation—they were switched?"

Diana nodded firmly. "Mike, come with me to the car. I need to ask you something."

The two went to a car at the villa entrance. Watching the servants pack up and leave, Diana finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Mike, do you know Lachlan?"

On the way here, she had already investigated Lachlan's situation. Although there was no clear proof that Lachlan was Sawyer's illegitimate son, Lachlan's companies and laboratories abroad were all supported by Sawyer.

Mike opened his mouth but ultimately chose silence.

Seeing this, Diana looked at him seriously. "Mike, Lachlan is trying to kill Nicholas and my grandmother. They're both unconscious now because of him. Are you still going to hide this from me?"

"This... how is this possible? He said he would never return to the country." Mike's eyes were full of disbelief.

Bruce turned his head, his tone especially serious. "He also adopted many children from the country to use them for experiments. Mike, think about it—how many lives are we talking about? If this gets out, whether Mr. Spencer knew about it or not, the Spencer family is finished!"

Mike looked at him, then at Diana, and finally sighed. "It's all karma."

Mike's tone was somewhat dejected, but he still began to tell the story from years ago.

It turned out that Lachlan's mother, Tatum, used to be a maid for the Spencer family. She was young but not pretty.

Seeing the Spencer family's wealth and glory, she got ideas.

"After Tatum drugged Mr. Spencer and had a one-night stand with him, she left the Spencer family directly, saying she wanted nothing. But a year later, she came back to the Spencer family with a little boy, demanding child support."

Bringing up that incident, Mike's expression was particularly terrible. "Mr. Sawyer Spencer's wife, Mrs. Marcella Spencer, was so upset by her that she had a heart attack and couldn't be saved. Mr. Sawyer Spencer was extremely remorseful, but the matter had blown up so much that he could only pay the minimum child support required by law, until Mr. Nicholas Spencer's father, Mr. Clarence Spencer, needed a kidney transplant."

Clarence fell seriously ill but couldn't find a suitable kidney donor. Only then did Sawyer remember he had an illegitimate son, and even more coincidentally, Lachlan was a match.

"Lachlan traded one kidney for a large sum of money and medical enterprises, but he also promised he would never return to the Spencer family. But Tatum wasn't satisfied. She always wanted to become Chairman Spencer's wife, so she secretly returned to the country and died in a car accident."

"Everyone told Lachlan it was just an accident, but he insisted the Spencer family had killed her to silence her. So he's been opposing the Spencer Corporation from overseas. He's really capable too—he's united many foreign companies. Otherwise, Chairman Spencer wouldn't have stayed abroad all this time."

After hearing Mike's account, Diana asked quietly, "Mr. Clarence Spencer and Mrs. Seraphina Spencer's deaths are also related to Lachlan, right?"

Tatum died in a car accident, and Clarence and Seraphina also died in a car accident.

Mike closed his eyes and nodded silently.

At this moment, Diana finally understood why Sawyer had tested whether she was ruthless enough, whether she could make rational judgments and solve all problems.

Perhaps Sawyer had initially just thought that he only had one son left, so he let Lachlan off once.

And Lachlan had become what he was now, actually trying to kill Nicholas. Who knows what his next move might be.

Diana left The Spencer Mansion in silence, leaving only some guards outside.

On the way to the hospital, her heart sank to the bottom again.

This Lachlan wasn't just a murderer—he might also be connected to Aya. Maybe all those children were being supplied to Aya.

At the very top level, Doyle wasn't the only one.

Doyle might just be one of Aya's bosses, or perhaps he was just a "client."

As Diana was thinking this, her phone rang.

Seeing it was an overseas call, her brow twitched.

She answered the phone and instinctively asked, "Mr. Spencer?"

The other party was clearly stunned for a moment, then laughed a few seconds later. "Ms. Windsor is really smart. No wonder you could take down Aya. Do you know how many people you've offended?"

"Cut the crap. What do you want?" Diana's tone grew even colder. "Lachlan, if you try to harm Nicholas, I won't let you get away with it!"
