Chapter 293 Sudden Change
Chapter 294 Caught Someone
When Nicholas was wheeled into the hospital room, Diana was trembling all over.
But she still forced herself to calm down. "Ethan, get everyone out. I need to treat him."
"Do you need me to stay? Can you handle this?" Ethan looked at her nervously.
Diana thought for a moment and nodded. She might pass out at any time now, so she needed someone she could trust nearby.
She turned to look outside the door. Luke and Eric weren't there, and Gemma was working at the Windsor Corporation. She could only rely on herself.
Nicholas lay on the hospital bed, already undressed by Diana.
No external injuries, no warning signs—he had just passed out.
Ethan looked at Diana with some confusion. "Do you need a CT machine?"
"No." Diana placed her hand on Nicholas's head. Ethan's eyes widened in disbelief—her hand was faintly glowing blue.
He covered his mouth, not daring to make a sound, afraid of disturbing Diana.
Diana saw that the tumor in Nicholas's brain had grown slightly larger, and her heart filled with anger.
She had never considered the possibility of radiation.
Fortunately, she had been careful with the medication recently and hadn't overdosed, so the situation was still under control.
But if she couldn't solve the radiation problem, the tumor in his brain would likely return to its original size soon.
She withdrew her hand, her expression extremely grave.
Seeing this, Ethan quickly asked, "Is it fixed? What kind of magic did you just use? Is he okay?"
"No." Diana shook her head. "Stop extracting Dawnveil Clover now. It's been contaminated by radiation."
"Radiation? How is that possible?"
"It's true. I'm going to check on Grandma. Give him some anti-radiation medication first." After saying this, Diana dragged herself to see Thalia.
Sure enough, Thalia was also unconscious.
Thalia had been receiving treatment for three days straight and had taken a bit more medication. Fortunately, the Golden Dandelion's effects could counteract the radiation damage, so she was only temporarily unconscious.
Diana left the room, carefully considering the current situation.
Even if anti-radiation medication could be used, it would probably affect Nicholas and Thalia's health.
And even if it worked, they would have to start treatment from scratch.
Dawnveil Clover—Diana only had this much left. If she couldn't solve the radiation problem, none of the herbs could be used.
"Milk, to help restore your energy." Ethan handed her the milk. "Actually, there's an anti-radiation drug that works really well, it's just a bit troublesome."
"Horizon Healthcare's special medication?" Diana asked.
Ethan nodded and pulled out his phone. "We've worked with them before. The anti-radiation effect is excellent, and it eliminates side effects. I have to say, their special medications have no flaws except being expensive."
Diana looked carefully at the drug information. "Only ten injections per year?"
"Rare ingredients, no side effects—I think it's mostly hunger marketing." Ethan sighed. "Nicholas finally started improving. I'll contact Horizon Healthcare and see if we can get two doses, even if we have to pay more."
"There's no time." Diana's expression grew even more serious. "Radiation effects are continuous. We need to use the medication immediately."
"I'm going to get the medicine now. Help me take care of them, and don't let anyone know about this, understand?"
More than ten minutes later, when Diana got in the car, Gemma's expression was extremely grave. "Ms. Windsor, have you made up your mind?"
Gemma had already learned the whole story on her way there.
Several cars with Nicholas's bodyguards followed behind Gemma, but she still felt Diana shouldn't go.
"Luke has already found some of the children, and they'll continue searching. There's no need for you to go in person."
"Gemma, if they dare to expose their location, they're not afraid of me bringing people. If I don't go, Brice won't hand over the medication." Diana's tone was exceptionally calm. "Drive. I trust you all."
Bruce, sitting in the passenger seat, nodded. "Ms. Windsor, rest assured, we will protect your safety, even if it costs me my life."
"No, don't risk your lives. Protect yourselves." Diana looked out the window. "When Nicholas wakes up, you all need to be there."
When they arrived at the abandoned factory, the sun was already setting.
The factory gate was tightly closed, and the yard was surrounded by people Luke had brought.
They had arrived at the scene first but hadn't acted rashly.
Diana got out of the car, and Luke immediately handed her a bulletproof vest. "Put it on, just in case."
Diana hesitated for a moment but quickly put on the vest.
Entering the factory, only Wilford sat in the center, with three children tied to chairs beside him, including Vivian.
Each child had a bomb strapped to them, looking terrifying.
Only four thugs stood beside Wilford. Diana looked around but didn't see anyone else.
Luke whispered in her ear, "There's no one else."
Diana frowned. Brice had set up such an elaborate scheme, yet he only prepared these few people to confront her?
She placed her hand on her chest, slowly concentrating and observing the surroundings.
"Welcome!" Wilford's voice rang out with a hint of pleasure. "Ms. Windsor, you didn't keep your word—you brought so many people?"
"Where's Brice?" Diana instinctively stepped back half a step. She had already realized this was a trap.
Wilford shrugged. "Brice is watching you from the shadows, of course. Did you think he'd confront you face to face? Making me take all the responsibility—you don't understand him at all."
Wilford rubbed Vivian's head and said with a smile, "But it doesn't matter this time. As long as I get the money and the Herbal Compendium from you, I can go with him to the overseas laboratory. Who cares about losing a job?"
"Diana, did you think that by using public opinion and making me lose my job, I'd have no more chances? Aren't you still being played by me? Hand over what I want, or your grandmother and Nicholas are both finished!"
When Diana saw clearly the energy of the bombs, she tugged at Luke's sleeve. Then Clio's excited voice came through her Bluetooth earpiece. "Boss, we caught Brice! He was trying to escape on a yacht, just as expected!"
"Catch him!" At Diana's command, Luke immediately led people to rush forward.
The moment Wilford was pinned to the ground, he was still roaring, "Brice, are you just going to watch? Damn it, come out and help!"
"Diana, there are bombs everywhere. If you dare make a move, no one will survive!"
Diana stepped forward and ripped off the "explosives" strapped to Vivian. "If plastic toys can blow people up, I'd be happy to blow you up ten thousand times."
She had just used her witch powers—the explosives on these children had no energy at all. How could they kill anyone?
She looked down at Wilford from above. "You really are an idiot. Brice ran away long ago. You thought he'd help you? Dream on."
Wilford looked up in disbelief toward the second floor, only to find that Brice, who had promised to be there to support him, wasn't there at all. There wasn't a single person.
The hatred in his eyes instantly turned to horror. "Brice, you bastard! You lied to me!"
