Chapter 5 Chapter 5///
In the Living Room of Darkblood Mansion
After the discussion about Rael, Selene went to her room while the rest of the family continued their conversation. Gabriel, Selene’s brother, had arrived earlier and was in the back room, listening through a half-open door. His eyes, with a determined gleam, reflected his interest in everything related to the clan and its rules.
Gabriel was a serious and disciplined vampire, with a clear understanding of vampire superiority over other supernatural creatures. What he had heard about Rael, the lone wolf, awakened his need to resolve the situation directly and personally. For Gabriel, a lone wolf daring to appear in the city was a challenge to the established order and vampire supremacy.
In the Forest
The next morning, Gabriel prepared for his expedition. He donned dark clothing and equipped himself with essential items for a possible confrontation. Ravenshade Forest, with its dense trees and deep shadows, offered the ideal setting for his mission.
As he entered the forest, his step was firm and his mind focused. He knew Rael was there and quickly detected his presence with heightened senses. Gabriel headed toward the spot where the wolf should be, moving cautiously and precisely.
Finding a strategic vantage point, Gabriel paused to reflect. Rael’s presence in the city could not be ignored, and his autonomous and unconventional behavior required a special approach. Gabriel was determined to get Rael to reveal his intentions and better understand his motivations.
— I will confront him and make it clear that here, in Ravenshade, there is no place for disorder — Gabriel muttered to himself, his tone implacable. — But it won’t be a direct confrontation. I need to find out what he’s really planning and make sure he understands his place.
Gabriel knew a direct approach could be risky. Instead, he planned a strategy that combined persuasion and intimidation. He wanted to gain insight into Rael’s plans and ensure the wolf wouldn’t pose a threat to the pride.
