Chapter 145 Chapter 145

Chapter 145 Chapter 145
Owen's POV

I was holding a bottle of soda in one hand. It was apple flavoured soda and it had a red colour. I bumped into someone mistakenly that my body hurt like I had hit a wall.

I was about to curse the person out when I noticed that it was Lucian and I immediately softened. I couldn't believe I had been that close to him. Well, when I was part of the friend team with Nick and Mason, I usually met Lucian, but not close enough to touch his chest.

I wondered why most of the time he was always with Ethan. Were they best friends or something of that sort? I also remembered that he was the one who saved I and Ethan from the lab. I didn't know that he and Ethan were that close. It was quite unusual to see an alpha and an omega in a friendship.

I felt disappointed when I brought out my handkerchief to clean the stain, but he stopped me. I really wanted to feel how his chest felt and also to touch him a bit.

I had always had a crush on Lucian from a distance, and this was the closest that we had been. I entered the dining hall and noticed that he and Ethan were sitting together. I couldn't help but throw glances at him.

I kept looking at him that I forgot to eat. Each time that he turned to look at me, I pretended like I wasn't looking at him. Ethan was my roommate. If Ethan was so close to him, it meant that I could talk to Ethan and get Ethan to tell me more about Lucian.

He could feed me some secrets like if Lucian was also interested in men and the chance that I had in being close to him. Yes, I was definitely going to talk to Ethan about it once I returned to the room.

I ate my food silently and hoped that Lucian didn't notice my stares at him. He walked to the door with Ethan and left. I sighed. I stopped staring at him. My next problem was how to get Adrian to not be my partner. I had to choose another partner. Adrian was an entire dick head and I wanted nothing to do with him.

I saw Adrian seated at a table. I gulped down the cup of water. I needed to tell Adrian that I didn't want him as a partner. I smoothed my shirt and walked over to him. Adrian looked at me with an irritated glare when he saw me.

“What do you want?” He snapped like I had done something wrong by walking over to him.

I took a deep breath. I had rehearsed the words over and over in my head because I knew the type of person Adrian was. I wished he would take this as a normal person and allow me to change being a partner with him.

In fact, I didn't even need an alpha to guide me. I had already survived Ravenholt academy training on my own while I was disguising myself to be an alpha. I really didn't need any alpha adding to my complications.

“Cat got your tongue? Are you going to say what you're here for? Or would you keep standing there?”

I swallowed hard. I had drifted away for too long. I took a deep breath.

“Adrian, I don't want you as my partner.”

Adrian kept an indifferent expression at first, then he chuckled and burst into laughter. I had to mentally run through the words I had just said. I needed to check if there was anything funny in what I said. What was so funny to this bastard?

“Can you repeat yourself?” Adrian said. His eyes were wet from laughing so intensely.

I inhaled deeply again. “I said I want a different partner. I don't want to be with you anymore.”

Adrian chuckled again. “And I'd love to see you try to kick me out. Owen, if you leave me, I'd make sure I report you to the instructors that you're trying to change the rules, and you know what that means.”

I scoffed. “What?”

A grin appeared on his face. It was evident that he was enjoying whatever this was. I stomped my feet angrily. “We'd see about that. I'm not having you as a partner, no matter what. You can threaten me all you like.”

Adrian let out a small laugh. “You are stuck with me and you aren't going anywhere. Let that stick into your mind.”

He stood up from his seat and slapped the upper bun of his burger on my face. He laughed and walked away. I frowned. This wasn't going well. He didn't want to help me and he didn't want to let me go either. He was just a psycho and I needed to look for a way to go out of the grip of this idiot.

I knew he wanted me around just to ridicule me and I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction that he needed. I knew that I might have to report him to one of the instructors if he kept bullying me.

“Owen.” Someone called and I turned backwards. “Sir Sebastian sent me to call you.”

“Huh,” I muttered as I was already wondering what Sebastian would call me.

“He's in the office.” The person who dropped the message said and left without giving me the chance to ask the tons of questions that were on my mind.

I walked to the office. When I got there, I met Adrian already seated in the office. I was surprised.

Sebastian cleared his throat and faced me. “I heard that you told the alpha that you don't need his help and you want a different alpha instead.”

My eyes widened in shock. “I never said…”

Sebastian cut me off and continued speaking. “I'm afraid that if you're not on good terms with an alpha who is stressing himself out to teach you, then you may as well leave the academy.”

Adrian sat there innocently. I wondered the exact words that he had said to Sebastian. I stood there in shock. I never knew Adrian was this manipulative. Why was he even doing any of these? It didn't make any sense to me.

“Do you understand me, Mr. Owen? You would have Adrian as your partner and I don't want to hear further complaints.”

“Do you understand?” He asked again.

“Yes sir.” I responded.

“Good. Both of you may leave.”

Adrian stood up and brushed his shoulders roughly against me as he walked past. He had a smug smile on his face and I could already tell that he enjoyed what had just happened. What did he really gain from doing that?
