Chapter 7 Chapter 0007
•RAFAEL•
“Hey, Daddy.”
When I tilted my head and saw Amari walk in, I rolled my eyes and sighed.
The sound of her voice and even her face made me angry, especially when I thought of the last image I had of her.
“You don’t look too happy to see me. Why?” She closed the door of my office and walked toward my table.
“I’m working, Amari. What are you doing here?”
“Polly told me about your marriage, and I had to come and confirm it myself. I thought we had a good thing going on, Raf, or was it all in my head?” She asked as she sat in front of me.
“You should leave my office.”
“Come on, Raf, I have apologized for what happened. Do you have to punish me by bringing another woman between us?” She stood up from her chair and walked toward me, stood behind my chair, and placed her hands on my shoulders.
I stood up and glared at her. After what she did, I didn’t want to see her near me.
She knew I would never forgive her for what she had done.
“Polly’s statement about your infatuation seemed like a joke to me. Now I see what she meant,” she chuckled as she walked over to my desk and took her handbag. “It’s a pity she doesn’t know what she has gotten into with you.”
“Close the door on your way out and never set foot in my building again. You know damn well I don’t take it lightly from people who stab me in the back.”
“You’ll ruin her, Rafael. You know those hands weren’t made for delicate things. At least with me, you knew we were made from the same fabric and couldn’t hurt one another, but her—” she chuckled. “She won’t survive a year with you before you drive her to the edge of her sanity.”
“Don’t let me see you near me again, or I’ll make it the worst day of your life. Do you hear me?” I leaned closer to her. “This should be the last time you come here.”
“Come on, the dick wasn’t even worth the trouble. You know you’ll always be the man for me. I made a mistake.” She placed her hand on my chest and caressed it, just the way I used to love it when she did it.
But when her hand trailed down to my lower stomach, trying to reach for the member between my legs, I grabbed her wrist and yanked her hand off me.
I stared at her, and she scoffed before she turned around and walked to the door.
“If I were you, I would kill her before I become too attached to the daughter of the man who murdered my parents right in front of me. Kill her now, Raf, or she’s the one who will kill you! You know this won’t end well for either of you!” She chuckled as she opened the door and walked out.
When I opened the front door and saw Narra waiting for me near the staircase, I furrowed my brow and closed the door.
I shook my head and wondered what she wanted.
“If you and your sister want to kill me, please go ahead with it instead of threatening me. If my father is the one who offended you, why am I here?”
I looked at the short nightgown she was wearing and leaned toward her. If she knew how I wanted to take it off her and show her the only punishment she would get from me.
“Do you think I’d kill you that easily after everything your father had done?” I scoffed. “I won’t do anything to you until he’s released from the hospital. As long as you’re here, keep your head down and avoid my sister at all costs.”
“How could you make me your wife when you want to kill me?” She leaned closer, too close, and I frowned when her scent filled my nostrils, causing me to think of all the things I would do to her.
Polly was right. It was getting more and more difficult to do what I had planned when she was tempting me. Making me think of things I wanted to do to her.
I shook my head, placed my bag on the floor, slipped my gun from my back, and pointed it at her.
“Is this what you want?”
She gulped. “If you want to kill me, pull the trigger, because I would rather die than be here. You will never be my husband. So, I dare you to pull the trigger, Rafael.”
I cocked the gun and pointed it at her head. I was angry at her audacity to challenge me when I could’ve shot her in the head where she stood.
“Kill her, Rafael. Kill her. She shouldn’t be in this house after what her father did to our parents. Kill her!” Polly exclaimed behind me, and I huffed because I hadn’t realized she was home.
“Shoot me, Rafael! I dare you!” Narra shouted. “Shoot me, or else I won’t stop trying to run away from you!”
“That is enough!” I snapped, shooting at the ceiling, and there was sudden silence in the room. “Brian?!” I called for the bodyguard who was guarding down the hallway, and he came running to my side.
“Yes, sir?”
“I want you to watch Narra at all times and never let her leave her room unless I call for her. If she’s found anywhere in the house without your supervision, you’ll get punished. Do you understand?”
Brian nodded, and Narra scoffed.
“This won’t stop me from fighting to get away from you.” She turned around and headed to her room down the hallway, and when I was about to head upstairs to my room, Polly stopped me.
“I wonder what has happened to you, brother. You’re showing how weak you are by letting Narra live. Our father must be turning in his grave, seeing how weak you’ve become. If you won’t take revenge for our parents, you’ll wake up one day and find her blood smeared on the walls of your room.”
