Chapter 25 24

Chapter 25 24
Chapter TwentyFour

Soleil
Ten years ago, I lost my mother to a curse that my father himself couldn't cure or break.
I was eight years old at that time.
My father, Zeron, the Alpha King of the werewolf realm, possesses a powerful wolf, was changed after our loss. For me, his heart was too broken with the loss of my mother, and it showed. But I don't know what's happening behind his closed doors.
He was always angry and that's my earliest memory of him.
Two years after my mom's death and I was ten years old, he started giving weird commands to the hunters and trackers of our pack.
His focus changed. During the two years he spent as a hermit, he also spent researching a certain boy.
'You need to capture that boy, Callix! I need that boy!'
That's what I heard him say once. From then on, trackers and hunters went to look for that boy.
None came back.
And now I know why.
Quillon was the boy my father was talking about with his right-hand man.
The mark on the dead hunter's arm was the symbol of our pack.
Our hidden pack, the Sacred Dominus Pack of the East.
Only those with the blood of an Alpha King, and those invited, can enter our pack. It was magical, and the exit was tricky. If a werewolf were invited inside, they would never get out.
Only those who have my father's blood in their veins could come and go freely.
And now...
The pieces came together but it was yet whole--I don't know why my father was looking for Quillon. Wanting Quillon. And I don't know what Zeron will do to him.
Quillon and I stopped on top of a mountain, and below I could see the lights of civilization. We spent ten hours running, taking breaks to drink from any river we passed by, and the sun was almost rising.
I think we're at Trivian Pack now. Almost.
I looked at Quillon at the same time that he shifted to his human form, baring his nudity in front of me.
My wolf growled and I quickly hid behind a tree, shifting out of my wolf, too.
"What the fuck happened to the go-signal?" I asked, irritated, while grabbing the black robe he had given me before.
"That's the go-signal." He answered calmly.
"Seriously? Displaying your showcase was the go-signal? Very creative." I rolled my eyes.
"Pfft. Showcase, huh?"
Argh!
My lips tightened shut in a flat line and stopped engaging with him.
I huffed, wore cotton shorts and a tee, before slipping into the robe. I walked out of the tree and Quillon was already standing in his robe where I left him.
"Is this Trivian's territory? Shouldn't we wait for the Alpha's permission?" I asked, ignoring the way my cheeks still burn from the memory of his nakedness.
"Yes, but we're not yet in their pack lands. Once we get down this mountain, we'll be in their territory."
"Oh. Okay. So how will you get the Alpha's permission?"
He sighed, his nostrils flaring. "I'm thinking about it," Then he looked at the pack below.
"What's there to think? It's either call Shade or meet the pack guards below. They could ask for permission from the Alpha."
"Nah. I think we'll sneak our way in." He shrugged and my eyes widened.
Is this man out of his mind?
"Sneak a pack? They would know! The guards will sense our presence even before we stepped in their land! What the hell? Don't tell me you don't know this."
Quillon snorted. "We already established the fact that I was once in a pack, Soleil. I know about it."
"Then why the fuck sneak?"
He looked at me with a smirk. "It's more fun that way."
My jaw dropped.
"Fun? I don't need that kind of fun right now! I want sleep, rest, and food! That's what's fun."
He smirked at me and I'll be lying if I say he doesn't look so good. Ugh, that smirk always melts my insides!
"If that's your version of fun, then you should live more."
He didn't let me speak another word because he ran down the mountain and I had no choice but to keep up.

I was out of breath and on my knees. You're probably wondering why.
We did it. We sneaked inside Trivian Pack, and like I imagined it would be, we failed and we were caught!
As I said, I was on my knees, my hands were tied behind my back, and Quillon had the same fate beside me.
The only difference was that he was chuckling or smiling from time to time.
"If this is your version of fun, then I'm glad I didn't get to live it," I whispered in a hiss and Quillon chuckled again.
I think some wire in his head got loose, I swear.
"Come on, didn't you notice? You're living my fun now."
I can hear his smirk from his tone, even though I don't see it. Our faces were covered with the hood of our robes, and I kept my head down so I'd escape this humiliation.
It doesn't help.
The sound of footsteps came closer but I tilted my chin down even more. It's the Alpha of Trivian Pack. I'm sure of it!
"All of you can go back to your posts. I'll handle the intruders." Said the Alpha and his pack guards scrambled out of the room.
Quillom looked up and I panicked because his face was showing now.
"What are you doing?" I hissed at him, bending even lower to hide my face.
If he's digging his grave, I'm sure saving mine. "Stop smirking at the Alpha and show respect! What the fuck? I told you we shouldn't sneak in!"
I'll definitely throw Quillon under the bus once there's punishment handed to us.
"Yeah, Kill, you didn't need to do that--sneaking in. I wonder what I'll do with the two of you." The Alpha says, repeating my words and I quickly shut my mouth upon hearing the threat in his last sentence.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!
My hands were clammy and sweaty from nervousness. He sounded scary and angry, I couldn't help but imagine what kind of punishment he might bestow us.
Quillon snorted and I elbowed his side. He only rolled his eyes.
"For fuck's sake, Soleil, straighten your back. Dylan won't harm us."
Dylan?
Oh, the Alpha.
I elbowed him again. "Why would I believe you? You got us into this mess!" I'm still whispering.
Quillon rolled his eyes and I saw his hand go up. Wait, why isn't he chained like me? No, I saw his hands being chained too!
He pulled my hood down and my eyes fluttered shut, so I wouldn't see the scary Alpha in front of us.
"Nah, she's right. You should show some respect, or I might kill you both." The Alpha said, and I shivered.
To die because of Quillon's idiocy was the most shameful way to go.
"Chill out, woman. He's just messing with you. Dylan's a friend." Quillon stood up, patting some dirt on his knees.
I opened my eyes, widening when Alpha Dylan chuckled.
Wait...
"Sorry, I'm always open for entertainment." Dylan offered his hand to me. "Please stand up. I apologize for my guard's actions; they're only doing their job."
I looked at his hand. Puzzled.
Before I could think, Quillon's hand gripped my arm and pulled me up.
Dylan retreated his hand and threw a questioning look at Quillon
"Her hands are tied, old man."
"Oh. Right."
"And your guards were crappy. If I fought back, they would fail to drag my ass. My advice would be train them harder." Quillon was taking off the chain from my wrists as he spoke.
Dylan shook his head. "You're much stronger than them, so shove your advice up your ass."
The chain came off my skin and dropped on the ground with a loud clank.
"There's no harm in pushing through limits."
"Include the limits up your ass, too, if you have one."
Quillon finally shrugged and stopped arguing with Alpha Dylan and I silently thank heavens that he did.
I don't know what's happening and I know that we're off the danger zone, but I wouldn't risk being on Dylan's bad side because of Quillon and his foul mouth.
"So you know each other?" I voiced out.
"You're catching up. Slow, but still." Quillon said nonchalantly.
He earned another blow from my elbow on his side, which made him wince.
"Welcome to Trivian Pack, I'm Dylan." He smiled at me. "You're Soleil, right? Kat told me about you."
Kat?
Oh yes, I remember now. He's the man who took over Shade and Kat under his protection.
"Uh, hi. Yes, that's me."
"I apologize again for frightening you. Quillon isn't allowed to enter my land without putting up an act. There could be spies around, and we need to make him look like an intruder. And you."
My jaw dropped.
"You mean, this always happens when he visits?"
Dylan nodded and smiled. He looked sweet. But the way his eyes smiled also hides the true emotion behind his eyelids.
"I see," Then I turned my head slowly to Quillon. "Fun? Live more? You're full of shit." I said in a whisper
His lips pursed, and I knew he was trying not to grin. My teeth bared.
"I'll let you rest now. Quillon knows the way to your cabin; he'll fill you in with the rules, too."
"Rules?"
"I'll tell you later," Quillon whispered to my ear. I jumped in surprise. He quickly stood up and nodded his head to Dylan. "I'll find you later to talk."
"You better, kid."
With another sweet smile to me, Dylan excused himself and strode out of the room, which I figured was an office or something.
His arm grazed my shoulder, and I pushed him away.
"Don't stand so close to me! I don't want to even look at you right now. Argh!" I stomped towards where I saw my backpack.
"Too bad because the cabin is a studio type, so you'll see a lot of me." He smirked and walked to the doors while I gaped at him.
"What?!"
A studio--fuck!
He didn't stopped and again, I don't have any choice but to follow him.
