Chapter 56
Chapter 56
Garber's POV
"It's just a game. How hard can it be?" Is what I asked 2 hours ago
But I never expected that I'd be punching hard into moulded cement because Luis killed me for the 15th time.
"It's not that deep bro," Rose who I learnt felt more like two people than one said.
I rolled my eyes at them.
It still feels weird calling one person who I obviously see as one they/them, but Luis would kill me for real if I 'disrespect his friend once more'.
The rage in his tone when he said those words wasn't what scared me.
It was the possessiveness that made me comply.
I was too jealous to disagree or argue my way out of it.
I swore then and there to not give up until he felt the same way for me. All I needed was one person.
Him in particular who would stay by my side and hide me behind his back while standing up for me.
It's all I ever lacked growing up. The ones who were supposed to fight for me talked me down and I've only ever learned to stand up for myself only to cower in their presence.
But maybe. If Luis would consider me a friend. Or more.
Then I could let go of that burden.
"He's right we should return for the last period at least." Luis said as he logged out from the game.
"No!" I grabbed his arm.
"What?" He furrowed his eyebrows. But he was sat least looking at me.
"One more game." I pointed my free index finger to the heavens and held on a crazed look as perspiration pooled at my chin.
"I promise to win this one this time."
"And if you don't?" His question came as I shock I needed to pause to reason.
"Then I'll do anything. I'll fulfil one wish of yours." Luis pinched his chin and looked at my figure from my toes up.
"And if I lose?"
My lips curve upwards in a smirk.
"Then you fulfil one wish of mine."
