Chapter 50 ....

Chapter 50 ....
Selene's pov.

After Ethan left me alone to settle in my allocated room, I pressed my wrists into the bed and let out a long sigh, I need a bath.

I've been in my school uniform all day, I didn't get a chance to change at the house because of mom

The bathroom was in the room as well, this one has a bathtub, different from the one in the mansion.

I didn't use it though, that would be for when I want to relax at night, soak myself in soap suds and close my eyes the way it's always done in movies.

I turned on the shower and there was a variety of soap already placed there. They smelt really nice and expensive

My eyes caught a popular shampoo and I couldn't help but wash my hair, the shampoo was not harsh and I enjoyed the feeling of it against my scalp.

As I stepped out of the shower, I wondered what kind of clothes mom would have picked up for me as I did not bother to check the bag due to how she wants us to leave in a hurry.

Surprisingly, she packed some good stuff and even a bikini.

Wow, that's totally unlike my mom.

I chose a short jean and a white tank top to wear, the tank top was tucked into the jean.

I looked into the tall mirror in the room. It actually looked like a beach outfit.

I do look cute

I brought out my phone to take a picture so that I could send it to Vale, but it failed to send.

"Darn it, I forgot there's no service here."

I went downstairs to see Ethan setting the table, in the months that I've lived with him, this is the first time I am seeing him do so.

"Who cooked?" I tried to hold a normal conversation with him.

"No one, it was brought from the house, I just heated it up, your mom and my dad are going grocery shopping tonight.”

Grocery shopping? That means there'd be service.

"Can I come?" I asked Alfred who was already at the table with mom.

"There is no need dear, you just stay back, you can walk around, or Ethan can show you the beach. This is his favourite place in the world." Alfred laughed.

Ethan didn't respond to Alfred's joke.

I sat on the chair to join them.

"I thought your favourite place was the hockey rink."

"Ethan is actually a private person, there's a lot you don't know about him, like,"

"Dad, can you not right now." Ethan silenced his dad.

Alfred chuckled "Oops, I forgot to add that he's very sensitive too."

This place must mean a lot to him, he told me earlier in the room that his mom designed it. That could be the connection he has.

The meal was spaghetti and meatballs, I actually love it. It's one of my favourites.

"Thanks for packing my bag mom." I said to break the silence.

"I didn't, I asked Ethan to and he was glad to help."

"Ohhhhhhh, thanks Ethan."

I toyed with the food on my plate, I should have known mom would never pack me decent clothes.

She also needs to stop giving Ethan access to my room, we're grown ups not kids anymore.

I was about to comment on that when Alfred started talking.

"Ethan, Selene told me about your dedication to your studies now. I'm glad to know you're picking up."

Ethan looked up from his meal.

"Does that mean you'll speak to Bradshaw about my resumption to school?"

Alfred dabbed at his mouth with a napkin.

"I'm afraid, I can't do that, you have to learn your lesson fair and square, you have to complete your suspension."

Ethan made a clanking sound with his fork against the plate, then dropped it aggressively.

He bulked against the chair, and stormed out of the dining section.

"He'll be alright." Alfred continued eating.

I saw mom cover Alfred's hands with her own.

"Darling, maybe you should consider it. You heard from Selene yourself, he's changed and is willing to improve more."

"Don't cuddle him Victoria, it's the same thing his mom did, that's why he almost ended up badly."

Alfred stood up as well and left the dining table, it was just me and mom left.

We usually don't have anything to say to each other except when she wants to snap at me or I have a request.

So, we finished up our meal in silence.

I was left to clean up the table, so I packed the untouched food from Ethan to keep, just in case he feels hungry.

There wasn't really much to do, I didn't bring any books that I could read, I found a board game on the huge shelf and started playing by myself.

Ethan hasn't come out since he walked out on the meal.

Alfred and my mom came out, ready to go out to the grocery store.

I wish I could go with them, I was bored out of my mind.

"Don't wait up for us dear, your mom and I might spend something before returning."

I nodded in understanding.

When they left I returned the board game to its original position

I found myself walking up to the room Ethan was in, he's been sulking all day, which was unlike him.

I knocked several times, but he refused to open up.

With a sigh of resignation, I marched back to my room.

Sometimes, he just needs to suck things up and grow the hell up.

I fell on my bed, enjoying the sounds of the crashing waves.

Then I stood up and went to the window.

There, I saw Ethan, standing on the shore, his back to me. He was staring ahead into the water.

I quickly put on slippers and ran out through the back. The route was confusing, but I somehow found myself on the beach.

"Ethan!" I shouted, with hopes that he heard me

How long has he been out here?

When I got very close to him he smiled.

"I thought you'd never come out.”
