Vale's pov.

I have been standing outside the movie hall for more than ten minutes now, waiting for Selene.

I expected her to be late, ladies are always late to an event, this is our first date together and I can't believe I brought her to the movies.

I should have done better, maybe taken her to a fancy restaurant or ski trip.

Gosh, I'm always so tongue-tied when I'm with her; she makes me lose control of my speech. The worst part is, she doesn't even realise it.

From the second she took me on a tour around the school, I started feeling something more than an ordinary likeness to her.

She's brilliant, hot, and a lot of other things which make her sexy as hell.

I can't believe the first thing that rolled out of my mouth was a movie.

I didn't give her the scheduled time for the movie to start as I already guessed she would run late.

Thirty minutes later, I saw her not far away, trying not to walk too fast.

She looks extraordinary in her simple, yet figure-grabbing gown.

She let her hair fall over her shoulders, making her face prettier, it was always tied in a ponytail.

"Sorry, I'm late." She smiled, catching her breath.

"Did you run down here?" I asked.

She took a minute before answering.

"Kind of."

I felt sorry for her, I knew she'd be late, so she didn't have to rush down.

"You shouldn't have."

"Why not? This is my first date, and I want it to be perfect."

"Me too," I said without thinking.

I took her hand and led her inside.

"You can't be serious, this cannot be your first date." She sounded surprised.

"Why? Because I have player looks?" I laughed.

"Yeah, you look like you've had a good number of girlfriends before."

"Wow, Selene Greasely, no mincing words, I see." I acted hurt.

"No, no, don't get me wrong, it's just hard to believe you've not had a couple of girls before now."

We got two giant-sized buckets of popcorn and two bottles of Fritz orange juice.

"Okay, I'll be honest, I've a little over a few girlfriends."

"I knew it." She slammed jokingly.

"None of them were serious."

She raised a disbelieving brow at me and started laughing.

"For real, I've never been on a real date, and I say it with all of my heart, I've never been with anyone like you."

She stopped laughing immediately, I certainly caught her off guard with that last statement.

"Erm, let's go in, so we can catch the beginning of the movie." She directed me.

I could tell she was not comfortable suddenly, and I didn't mean for it to happen.

The movie room was half-crowded, so viewers were actually spaced out.

We found a good spot in the centre, right when the show was about to start.

My mind wasn't on the movie, I was more focused on how Selene picked at her popcorn and how hearty her laugh sounds.

"You aren't watching." She said without looking, it was like she was avoiding my gaze.

I sighed and leaned into the chair more.

"I am watching the movie, I just enjoy watching you more."

That wasn't supposed to be said out loud, but it came out either way.

"You've got something in your mouth," 1 told her, I put out a finger and helped swipe at her bottom lip

It felt soft against my thumb.

She licked her lip innocently, that was a dangerous move.

I faced the projected screen and continued watching the movie.

She already finished her popcorn so I let her dig from mine.

As the movie progressed, I kept throwing sideways glances at her.

Until our fingers touched inside the popcorn bucket and we froze.

She looked at me for the first time since the movie started and I couldn't help myself.

I placed a hand behind her neck and covered her mouth with mine.

She tasted of sugar and orange fritz, and I couldn't resist the urge to go deeper.

Her body went stiff at first before she finally relaxed under my touch.

"I'm so sorry." I apologised.

I was so sure that she wanted it as well, Just like the last time at my place.

Gosh, I'm such a fool.

"I'm so sorry, Selene. I promise it won't happen again."

"Why are you apologising?, I'm not complaining."

"It's your eyes, they went defensive, and you were stiff as well." I pointed.

"Ohh, I was just surprised by it, but I liked it."

That seems to calm my nerves a bit.

"I like you, Selene, and I want us to be more than just friends. We don't have to rush into it now; I'm ready to take things slow with you."

Damn, that felt good, admitting how I felt.

I wish she would say something as well and not keep me quiet.

"I like you too, Vale, I was kinda hoping you'd ask me out to be your girlfriend, but since you want to take things slow. It's fine by me."

Oh no, I just flopped. She seriously wants me to be her boyfriend, too. I wanted to be a gentleman and not rush.

The movie was already over and I didn't even know what it was about.

There was still time before she'd go home.

"We can go back to my place if you like. There'd be nothing sexual, I promise." I crossed my fingers.

She burst out laughing again, I was excited to see her back in her light mood.

"Why did you say that? Because I'm a virgin?"

I swallowed hard, that was part of the reason I didn't want to rush things.

Her phone kept buzzing in her purse, so she checked it

"I'm sorry, it's Ethan, checking in on me."

How I loathe that name, he doesn't even give her breathing space outside the house.

She kept the phone back in her purse.

"I'd love to go to your house?".
