RP Chapter 51
RP Chapter 51
Before he knew it Davis was pushing himself off the wall and yanked Jonas out of the chair. “You are an idiot, father,” he sneered out. “That man is your youngest, he’s a Davenport, another one out of the three that stupidly followed your foot steps to figure out what the hell happened to you, who involved his best friend, who’s also his brother’s girl now, you put all of us in danger and taking advantage of your youngest is pathetic and cowardly.
“I have half a mind to tell you to stay the hell away from this family, you can never be the father you were supposed to be to us.”
Kyle finally managed to get enough momentum to break up the two men. He pressed Davis back. “Davis, stop it, you have a right to be upset, but this isn’t the way to handle it.” He flicked his gaze at Donovan and Davis looked.
Davis sighed and shook Kyle off of him heading over to Donovan and pulled the youngest Davenport from the chair, ushering him out of the room.
“Tell Kace I’ll be there in a minute, Davis,” Kyle called after him with the head nod Kyle shut the door and turned back to Jonas. “You’re lucky, old man, Davis is usually that easily cut short when his mind is set.”
“And what made him do so?”
Kyle scoffed loudly. “Damn, you really don’t get it, Davis has been everything to Donovan, everything you never were or will be, you should have come to Davis or me, not Donovan, that was straight cruel to even answer him the way you did, and you ever put that boy down ever again I promise you you’ll have me to deal with and I’m not as easy as Davis was when it comes to Donovan, I don’t care what light he sees me in, I care what light he sees Davis, so thanks for attempting but I think we’re good.” With that Kyle stood from the chair and made his way towards the door.
“Kyle, wait, please I’m sorry, I’ll tell Donovan I’m sorry as well, I didn’t mean it the way it came out, it just made more sense, I knew you two would never believe me or give me the time, it wasn’t to offend my youngest, I love you all deeply and want to be a part of all of your lives.”
Kyle slowly turned back to Jonas. “Well, this isn’t a fine way to start I can tell you that, you did a bang up job today in the warehouse and I thank you for helping save Kacey , but I don’t know what more we can give you, maybe just let us have some space, figure some things out, and let us wrap our heads around the fact that you weren’t ever gone, just gone from our lives.” He turned away and left his father with those words. There wasn’t much more he had or wanted to say to the man who had turned his back on his family twenty years ago.
The man faked his death, abandoned his family and didn’t seem to think twice about it. Yeah the Davenport boys had a lot to think about, but he was shoving it away for right now and going to take care of the business that needed taken care of with Kacey.
As he trudged his way down the hall he tried to calm his anger. How could a man who disappeared expect there to be no friction between them and that he could slide back into their lives with ease?
He put a lid on all the thoughts as soon as his eyes locked with the worried teal eyes, he tried to calm himself even more. She didn’t need to know how angry he was at the man he once called Father. Was it hopeless to even play with the idea that he could be once again?
Once he was closer Kacey immediately stood and wrapped her arms around him tightly. He returned the hug but moved her to his side a little and made them head towards the exit of AS. It had been a long, tedious couple of weeks and all he wanted to do was get home, deal with what needed to be dealt with and they could get some well-deserved sleep.
Before they made it out the door they ran into Donovan. “Kacey, give him your phone, we’ll deal with everything else later.” Kyle instructed gently and she did as she was told. Then Kyle continued to get them out of AS.
They made their way to his bike and Kyle helped steady her as she climbed on behind him. He took off to her house, where it was probably going to be a long night.

Kacey clutched to Kyle as he shot out of the parking lot. She already knew how the talk with Jonas went and Kyle was upset but he was trying to hide it and she wished he wasn’t. She gripped him a little tighter as he weaved around the slower traffic. Before she knew it they were in front of her house. He pulled up into the driveway and cut the engine of the bike. She got off the bike slowly and waited for Kyle to follow, but he just sat there.
She slowly reached out touching his firm forearm with her small hand and squeezed a little. He slowly looked over at her and let a small smile play on his lips. He got off the bike and took her hand in his and headed up to the house.
“Kyle-”
“Don’t, baby, I don’t want to talk about it, it’s best to just let it go.”
Kacey clamped down all the words she wanted to say and let him lead her into the house. She let out a deep breath, her discipline was coming, there was no doubt about it.
As soon as the door shut behind them, he headed towards the bathroom where they took a shower after he got them the bare minimal clothing. He barely gave her the time to get her bra and thong in before he threw her over his shoulder, smacked her bottom hard causing her to let out a squeal and tense up. She felt herself clench and tingle as the thoughts of what was going to happen flowed like a flood in her brain.
“There’s a lot more coming, Kace, a lot more, you disobeyed me so much today and I get it might have been for a good cause and you were trying to help but I reminded you so many times today and time and time again before not to put yourself in danger and yet you have time and time again.”
“I know, Kyle-”
“Shush, Kacey , you don’t get to talk, you don’t get to make a peep until you finally give in and say you’ll never do it again, but I have to believe what you’re saying to me, not just to get out of the chastising sooner, you’re going to mean it.”
Kacey swallowed hard. She already knew she’d never do any of the actions she had done over the past few weeks again. She didn’t want to disappoint the man who captured her heart so many years ago. But how was she going to make him believe her?
