Chapter 72 Princess Rhea

Chapter 72 Princess Rhea
Rosia's POV a

A lean woman in an old, lose dress stands by the dresser and a young woman with very uniquely beautiful features beside her. The woman is my mother, just the way I remember her, except for a some scars on her exposed skin. The sibling that my mate spoke about, seems very real, not just a probability like they made it sound the first night they told me about them. I do have a good sibling, a sister who is surprisingly just as tall as I am, just like I would have wanted. She is however way too beautiful for her own good. Aerius said she is beautiful, but he had failed to mention that she is more beautiful than any woman of this Kingdom.

The servants in the room have elegant gowns and simple dresses waiting. I bet she's going to look a lot more like an angel.

My mother's eyes widen when she notices me. She gapes for a long moment, looking uncertain who it is. I wouldn't blame her, I was only three when she was taken from me and was said to be dead. How would she recognize me?

Still she stares, clearly curious. "Rosia. . . your Majesty," she mumbles in low tone.

"Yes mother, it's me," I say.

"Oh Lord! Yes . . . look at you!" she exclaims, marching forward and dragging my sister with her. "You have grown so tall . . . and more good-looking than any woman. Is all I have heard true?"

She stands on her toes to wrap her hands around my shoulders. Apparently I have grown taller than her. I hug her back.

"Mother you should . . . ask permission to hug her. She is a royal," my sister innocently cautions.

"It's alright, honey. This is your sister, the one I have always been telling you about. She is not like other royals," mother dismisses. "Come on, meet your sister," she urges, stepping back and pushing her daughter forward.

She looks up, her gaze meeting mine. Her vibrant green eyes are so beautiful they are literally hypnotic, but they also reflect nervousness. So I step closer and hug her. She smiles as she hugs me back

"I am . . . Rhea. Thank you for setting us free," she mutters.

"You're not just free. You're a royal Princess now. I will come back and give you a tour of the palace once you're done dressing and eating," I promise.

Her smile broadens and she hugs me tighter. "You're too kind, unlike other royals I have met," she says.

I gaze at our mother. "Who were your masters?" I ask.

Neither looks as bad as I thought they would, so it cannot be someone as cruel as the people I have met. My mother has tiny scars, nothing that would suggest that anyone has ever tried killing her. Rhea seems to be completely okay, not a single mark on her exquisite skin. I feel a wave of relief. Their lives weren't as horrible as mine and I am glad.

"There is much to know, honey. I doubt that you have time to hear it all now," Mother replies. "And I too am curious about all the stories I have heard. We would need a day to tell it all."

The Stories she has heard, I wonder how many are good, and how many are as bad as my life has been before now.

"What have you heard?" I ask.

A smirk curves on her lips. "About you and the Angel kings, so much that I doubt it all can be -"

"You're right. I have a few duties to attend to now. I will see you later," I cut her off quickly. I’m not ready to explain my chaotic love life to my mother, especially not with my "innocent" younger sister watching us with such wide, curious eyes.

"I will be returning in a few hours to give you the tour," I say. I reach out and take hold of my mother's hand before using the crown's powers to heal her scars.

"Wow! I thought I would have them forever. Thank you. I wonder what else that crown can do."

"A lot. You will later," I say before letting go and making my way out.

I hear their cheerful voices whispering in my absence, and I feel glad that I didn't tell them more about the powers of the crown.

"She really is the gorgeous king's lover too. They make a perfect couple. We couldn't be in a better place, mother," my sister's voice whispers and I can almost see the smile on her face. " We couldn't be in a better place, Mother. Look at this room… look at all the gold. Not even Alpha Nolan could have afforded half of what in this room."

Mother chuckles. "I told you, didn't I? I told you I was a Luna once. Now you see I wasn't lying. You have the best sister in the world."

"Only because she knows what it is like to be a slave. She has witnessed the cruelty of royals and wants to be different," her young daughter argues.

I press my palm against my mouth to stifle the sound of my sobs as I listen to their happy voices. They think they are safe here. Rhea thinks her big sister is the lover of kings and has got all the power to keep them safe.

I would have traded my soul to see my mother’s face again. But I didn't want it like this. Not on a day like this. Not while the palace is about to be under Cassandra. I have saved them from one hell just to bring them into another.

I can't run anymore. The plan I had just minutes ago wouldn't work. I have to fight to keep them safe here. And the only way to keep them safe is by taking the queens crown from Cassandra.
