The Loss Of Feelings

Almaric Empire

Mauve Palace

"Your Majesty? You were spacing out, Your Majesty?"

Thomas called Leonidas who had been daydreaming ever since they started playing chess. It seemed like he had lost his way to make the crown prince as cheerful as before.

He has lost the love of his life so he no longer shows a friendly face to anyone. His attitude became colder and his arrogance grew worse.

Leonidas got up from his seat and just left without saying anything to Thomas, who was confused by his attitude. Even though he had previously asked Thomas to accompany him to play chess.

He walked through a hallway surrounded by dozens of tall gold-plated pillars. His hands were clenched into fists, as if holding back anger that was ready to explode. A few steps in front of him, Lucien stood calmly, looking at his with eyes that made him feel even more annoyed.

He didn't want to listen to Lucien's words today, he didn't feel like beheading someone just to vent his anger.

"Can you stop all that?" Lucien asked. In fact, he should be the one feeling angry right now because all of Leonidas' actions were out of line.

Some people complained to him that Prince Leonidas had deliberately asked his soldiers to look for someone who might have done something wrong and punish him.

Twelve of them only made small mistakes that should be forgiven after they paid the fines they were due. However, Leonidas thought it was a big mistake and sentenced them to death without a trial.

His actions were completely beyond reasonable limits. He is the crown prince, sooner or later he will lead the Almaric Empire which has a very large territory. However, even though his actions were considered too cruel and merciless, Emperor Alexander did everything he could to stop his crown prince's actions. He considered everything Leonidas did as a form of training before he became emperor.

"Get out of the way! You're blocking my way!" Leonidas said with a very cruel killing gaze.

Lucien was not afraid, he was starting to get bored of having to constantly be a shield for his twin brother who always behaved in an arbitrary manner just because of his status as heir to the throne. He couldn't bear to see innocent people become victims of the revenge and hurt that Leonidas felt because he couldn't have the woman he loved.

Since Disha left, Leonidas' attitude has changed drastically. His cruelty only got worse. It made everyone feel afraid of him. No body know what he was really thinking, but the look in his eyes clearly showed deep pain.

He really loves Disha, he thinks maybe now Disha has given birth to the baby they have been waiting for. Supposedly at this time he and Disha lived in a small house in the middle of the forest where they would care for and raise their child together. But in reality, Disha chose to go alone without him and even though he had tried to find Disha's whereabouts for months, he still couldn't be found, as if she had disappeared forever from this world.

"Do you realize what you've done, Leonidas? You've killed innocent people just because you couldn't get what you wanted!"

"They made mistakes, therefore they deserve the appropriate punishment. Don't tell me what to do! Get out of the way right now or my sword will make you disappear from this world forever!" Leonidas gave his brother a very harsh ultimatum. He didn't even care if he had to threaten Lucien with a sword.

Lucien looked at him, feeling very sad. He didn't know what made Leonidas seem to have lost his conscience. Even their father, who was an emperor, would not directly punish someone without a judicial process that proved that person was guilty.

He held back the sadness in his chest, he had to admit that all of this could not be separated from his responsibility. He became involved in the vortex of conflict that the three of them created. Supposedly, since he decided to ask Disha to accept Leonidas' feelings, he no longer thought about getting Disha back when Disha had opened her heart to Leonidas.

He got himself into trouble that shouldn't have happened even though in reality the relationship between Leonidas and Disha will always be met with opposition from all parties who think their relationship is a curse that must be avoided. That way, he doesn't have to live his life feeling guilty like this because Disha decided to leave her house and Leonidas after receiving a terrible threat from Leonidas who was burning with jealousy.

"Have you still not given up looking for her? It's been six months since she left, you don't have any hope anymore!"

"I will definitely find her! I swear I will drag her home and force her to prostrate herself at my feet and I will do it right before your eyes!"

"You've really gone crazy!"

"You already know how crazy I am, don't you? Don't mess with me, Lucien. I won't spare you even if you're my brother!"

Leonidas stared at the food on his plate for minutes without intending to touch it. He had lost his appetite since the argument between him and Lucien yesterday. The words Lucien said made him remember Disha when he had tried hard to forget her.

He thought about how Disha was now. Is she okay? Has she given birth to the baby? Where did she go now and why couldn't he find Disha even though he had looked for her almost everywhere.

Emperor Alexander took a deep breath, seeing Leonidas continuously acting like a heartbroken man annoyed him. This was not the figure of the crown prince he expected to lead a dynasty as big as Almaric. Just because of love, he was willing to break both of his wings.

"Leonidas, I have decided that your wedding to Princess Genevieve of Evangelia will take place in the fall." The Emperor said firmly. The Queen Mother and Empress were quite surprised by the emperor's statement, considering that they had not discussed plans for Leonidas's marriage again for some time.

As for Leonidas, the only reaction visible on his face was one of anger. He couldn't accept a plan where he didn't want Geneveive as his bride. No, from the start the only person he hoped to accompany him until the end of his life was Disha. He loved her more than anything, more than he loved himself.
