94. FANTASY COMING TO LIFE

“Finally, you’re my wife,” he breathed, his voice low, a possessive growl that vibrated through me.

The words, so simple, held a weight that made my breath catch in my throat. And then, his lips were on mine, stealing the air from my lungs, shattering the last remnants of my sanity.

It wasn’t a gentle kiss, a soft caress, but an all-consuming hunger, a brutal claiming. He devoured my mouth, his teeth nipping at my lip, his tongue delving deep, as if he was marking me as his own, staking his claim on my very soul. There was no tenderness, only raw, untamed desire, a wild storm of passion that mirrored the tempest churning within me.

The intimacy of the moment, the absence of witnesses save for the unsettling presence of this strange priest, heightened the intensity, making it feel like we were the only two people in existence, bound by a dark, unspoken contract.

When I finally pulled away, breathless and dizzy, my lips swollen from his relentless assault, a sliver of rationality pierced through the intoxicating haze. “Don’t you have a ring? That’s a bit overkill if not,” I blurted out, the words tumbling from my numb lips.

The absurdity of the situation struck me, a strange counterpoint to the intense emotions that had just consumed me.

Vincent blinked, his eyes, dark and fathomless, narrowed slightly, then a low chuckle rumbled in his chest. “I dragged you to the forest, made you run into a church, and forced you into a marriage, and that’s what is troubling you?” he asked, amusement dancing in his eyes.

The humor was there, but beneath it, I could sense the underlying darkness, the dangerous edge that was always present, waiting to be unleashed. He kissed me again, a brief, teasing press of lips to lips, the taste of him lingering on my tongue.

“Don’t worry, I have everything you need,” he murmured, his voice thick with promise.

He reached inside the pocket of his hoodie, producing a small, velvet box, red as blood in the dim light. When he opened it, my breath caught again.

Instead of the single band I had expected, two rings gleamed within the velvet lining.

One, delicate and silver, was adorned with a golden diamond flanked by smaller silver stones, while the other was a simple, thicker silver band; a stark contrast between elegance and austerity. They were beautiful, breathtakingly so, and yet, they carried a sense of foreboding, a reminder of the dark path we had chosen.

Speechless, I watched as we placed the rings on each other’s hands, the cold metal a stark contrast to the heat of his skin on mine.

I barely registered the priest’s departure, his soft farewell as he asked us to sign the marriage certificate, leaving us alone in the hushed silence of the church. I was too lost in the moment, too consumed by the man standing before me, my husband, the devil who had claimed me as his bride.

“Now for the fun part,” my husband grinned, a predatory gleam in his eyes that sent a shiver down my spine.

I stared at him, the word still feeling alien on my lips, and yet, deeply, irrevocably true. He led me to the altar, the stones cold beneath my feet.

He lifted me, effortlessly, placing me on the altar with deliberate care, arranging the candles so they wouldn’t disrupt our twisted stage.

My eyes widened as he placed his knife on the stone next to me, the cold steel a sinister reminder of the violence that lay just beneath the surface of his charm.

As he reached for his hoodie, pulling it over his head, the anticipation was so thick, it was a tangible thing, heavy in the air.

My mouth went dry as I watched him strip, revealing the landscape of his body—muscles corded beneath inked skin that shimmered in the flickering light, a masterpiece of darkness and allure.

He moved with a feline grace, exuding an undeniable power, a raw sexuality that left me breathless.

With the mask still obscuring his face, he looked like something out of a horror movie, a creature of myth, both terrifying and tragically beautiful. He was haunting, a specter designed to steal my soul.

“You’re drooling, baby,” he drawled, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through my senses. “I might think you love this too much, and where is the fun in that?” He stepped closer, crowding me, the mask hiding his expression but not the barely suppressed hunger in his posture.

The sinister smile was only a shadow, a suggestion, more terrifying because I couldn’t fully see it. I could feel my heart hammering against my ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the sudden stillness of the room.

“What are you doing?” I whispered, my voice trembling, a mixture of fear and...anticipation? The question hung in the air, unanswered but understood.

He knew exactly what he was doing; he just wanted to see me squirm.

“You’re not going to… here?” I glanced around the secluded space, the flickering candlelight casting long, dancing shadows that seemed to writhe and writhe.

I almost yelled the last words, but the sound died before it could fully form on my tongue.

He didn’t answer, didn’t acknowledge my fear. Instead, he pushed me down onto the cold stone, his palm pressing against my chest, across both my breasts, sending a jolt of heat through me, even through the soft layer of my pink sweater.

A shiver, not entirely unpleasant, ran through me. He picked up the knife, the silver blade catching the light, and twirled it in his hand. It was a mesmerizing display of skill, a dangerous dance of metal and muscle.

He flipped it, the sharp edge gleaming an elegant cruelty, landing it back in his long fingers with a practiced ease that both terrified and excited me. It was like watching a wolf toy with its prey, all graceful precision and underlying menace.

The lump in my throat was a solid knot, making it hard to breathe as he watched me, his golden eyes like burning embers above the mask, holding me captive with their intensity.
