Chapter 73 The Pregnancy secret
Chapter 73 The Pregnancy secret
Ember ~
“Take me out of here, Zane!” I yelled.
“Ember, please.”
He held my hand softly. “Zane, do you love me?” I asked.
“Ember, is that even a question? You know that I do. What's this all about?” he asked, arching his brows.
“Oh please cut the crap. Do something. We possibly can get to the root of this whole issue of me leaving. Maybe erase his memory,” I yelled, and he sighed.
“Ember, I can't. I can't do any of those things.”
He walked slowly to the window side. “I feel you should go…” he muttered. My eyes widened.
“Zane, you what!!!” I yelled. “Are you fucking being real? Like you mean I should leave?”
“Yes, Ember.” He looked at me mildly, like there was something deeper than all of this.
“You don't love me, Zane,” I muttered.
“Ember, I do. I fucking do.”
“Then shut the crap up. Stop spitting out gibberish. I thought love fought for each other? I thought love never departs?” Tears slowly crept from my face.
“Ember,” he called out.
I stopped him midway from coming closer to me. “You know what? It's fine. It's a good thing that I just realised that this whole thing between us was just lust, nothing more than that.
I can't fit in your world anyway. It's obvious that I'm cursed. No wolves, no powers, nothing.
Everything about my life is messed up. The only person who claims to love me can't fight or do anything.
Maybe that's why you've always been saying that I was never fit for your world. So that I won't pollute your world with my curse.”
“Ember, c'mon, stop saying that. You're hurting me,” he said.
“Alpha Viper Zane Thorne, I pushed you more than your limit. I thought there was a connection between us.
But it was clearly lust, but I was blinded by love because I've never felt anything genuine.
It's always taken from me every damn time. What I'd feel that's mine, it has never been. Take care. You deserve the best.”
I walked towards the door, wiping my tears slowly.
“Ember, hear me out please.”
“I want to leave, Zane. It's time I do.”
He walked closer to me, and was about to hold my hand, when a soft knock was heard on the door, but I dragged my hands out of his. Nothing fascinates me about him anymore.
The door was pushed open slowly and it was Mama Mia. She smiled like she just won a lottery or something.
“I love how the bond is activating slowly,” she muttered.
Zane and I frowned immediately.
“Please, Mama Mia. I've no time for all of this. I'm on my way home.”
“When are you going to tell him?” Her words made my ears ring.
“There's nothing for me to say, Mama Mia.” I muttered. “And there is nothing between the both of us anymore.”
“Wow,” she exclaimed. “The bond is getting stronger and I like that.”
“Mama Mia, I'm trying to think further and you're confusing me the more. What the hell do you mean the bond is getting stronger?”
“Her bond never reacted for one day and you know that,” he yelled.
“You know my problem with both of you is that there's no patience and faith within the both of you.
I could remember vividly when I said it to the hearing of you both that a lot is going to come your way, but if only you both are smart enough to avoid it.”
“Zane, please can you excuse us?” Mama Mia said.
Zane looked over to me, and I ignored his gaze, turning away my face. He walked out majestically slow. Like he was forced out.
She sat on the sofa and motioned for me to sit too. “Ember, please,” she held my hands softly.
“Listen to me this once. I know you're hurt. I've been seeing everything that's going on. And I want you to tell Zane about the pregnancy.”
“No, Mama. I can't and that's my final decision.” I shook my head slowly. “I want to raise my babies alone.”
“Ember, you can't. There are four pups inside your belly and what you need now is romantic plays, and you and I know no one can give you that except Zane.
Zane is a sweet man and you know. If you tell him about the pregnancy, that will trigger him more to fight Colt.”
“So I should use the pregnancy to beg him for me to stay? Mama Mia, can you even hear yourself? That's not how things work and you know.
Zane doesn't love me. If he did, he would do everything in his power to stop Colt.
And that's why he needs to hear about the pups, Ember. You can't hide the pups away from their father.
Right now he's controlled by the wolf of his father. His father is aware of all he's to achieve. That's why there's an evil wolf in him, telling him to do otherwise, and we need to get that wolf out of him.
And only you can be of help, Ember. If you leave, the bond is going to affect you both severely because you've been destined together.”
“Alright then. Whatever effect that's coming up, no problem. I don't give a fuck on whatever damn spirit is in him.
He said it to my face, Mama Mia. That's it. Best I leave. So… what's left? I'll start a new life and take care of my kids till when they're finally birthed.”
“Ember,” she chuckled. “I love your fierceness. It showed that you are highly disappointed and I can feel it from your voice.
But to crack the whole thing, you can't give birth to the pups. There has to be a mutuality. Your bond and his has to connect before the moon goddess sees how patient you both have been.”
“Then that doesn't stop me from going all the way to get a priestess or a strong spiritual midwife.
With Zane or not, my babies will be born. Not even the moon goddess can intervene this time. She has done more harm than good to me.
And for Zane? He should happily rule the kingdom with his Luna, Sloane, by his side. Since he doesn't know what to prioritize.”
